Structure and stability of Con(pyridine)m − clusters: Absence of metal inserted structures
A synergistic approach combining the experimental photoelectron spectroscopy and theoretical electronic structure studies is used to probe the geometrical structure and the spin magnetic moment of Con(pyridine)−m clusters. It is predicted that the ground state of Co(pyridine)− is a structure where the Co atom is inserted in a CH bond. However, the insertion is marked by a barrier of 0.33eV that is not overcome under the existing experimental conditions resulting in the formation of a structure where Co occupies a site above the pyridine plane. For Co2(pyridine)−, a ground-state structure is predicted in which the Co2 diametric moiety is inserted in one of the CH bonds, but again because of a barrier, the structure which matches the photoelectron spectrum is a higher-energy isomer in which the Co2 moiety is bonded directly to nitrogen on the pyridine ring. In all cases, the Co sites have finite magnetic moments suggesting that the complexes may provide ways of making cluster-based magnetic materials
Penerapan Rinfo sebagai Media Pendukung untuk Proses Pembelajaran pada Perguruan Tinggi Raharja
Education is an important factor in human life. According to Ki Hajar Dewantara, education is a civilizing process that a business gives high values ??to the new generation in a society that is not only maintenance but also with a view to promote and develop the culture of the nobility toward human life. Education is a human investment that can be used now and in the future. One other important factor in supporting human life in addition to education, which is technology. In this globalization era, technology has touched every joint of human life. The combination of these two factors will be a new innovation in the world of education. The innovation has been implemented by Raharja College, namely the use of the method iLearning (Integrated Learning) in the learning process. Where such learning has been online based. ILearning method consists of TPI (Ten Pillars of IT iLearning). Rinfo is one of the ten pillars, where it became an official email used by the whole community\u27s in Raharja College to communicate with each other. Rinfo is Gmail, which is adapted from the Google platform with typical raharja.info as its domain. This Rinfo is a medium of communication, as well as a tool to support the learning process in Raharja College. Because in addition to integrated with TPi, this Rinfo was connected also support with other learning tools, such as Docs, Drive, Sites, and other supporting tools
Thermal nonlocal Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model in the real time formalism
The real-time formalism at finite temperature and chemical potential for the
nonlocal Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model is developed in the presence of a Gaussian
covariant regulator. We construct the most general thermal propagator, by means
of the spectral function. As a result, the model involves the propagation of
massive quasiparticles. The appearance of complex poles is interpreted as a
confinement signal, and in this case we have unstable quasiparticles with a
finite decay width. An expression for the propagator along the critical line,
where complex poles start to appear, is also obtained. A generalization to
other covariant regulators is proposed.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, minor changes, to appear in Phys. Rev.
Binary black hole merger gravitational waves and recoil in the large mass ratio limit
Spectacular breakthroughs in numerical relativity now make it possible to
compute spacetime dynamics in almost complete generality, allowing us to model
the coalescence and merger of binary black holes with essentially no
approximations. The primary limitation of these calculations is now
computational. In particular, it is difficult to model systems with large mass
ratio and large spins, since one must accurately resolve the multiple
lengthscales which play a role in such systems. Perturbation theory can play an
important role in extending the reach of computational modeling for binary
systems. In this paper, we present first results of a code which allows us to
model the gravitational waves generated by the inspiral, merger, and ringdown
of a binary system in which one member of the binary is much more massive than
the other. This allows us to accurately calibrate binary dynamics in the large
mass ratio regime. We focus in this analysis on the recoil imparted to the
merged remnant by these waves. We closely examine the "antikick", an anti-phase
cancellation of the recoil arising from the plunge and ringdown waves,
described in detail by Schnittman et al. We find that, for orbits aligned with
the black hole spin, the antikick grows as a function of spin. The total recoil
is smallest for prograde coalescence into a rapidly rotating black hole, and
largest for retrograde coalescence. Amusingly, this completely reverses the
predicted trend for kick versus spin from analyses that only include inspiral
information.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures. Submitted to Phys. Rev.
Archiving scientific data
We present an archiving technique for hierarchical data with key structure. Our approach is based on the notion of timestamps whereby an element appearing in multiple versions of the database is stored only once along with a compact description of versions in which it appears. The basic idea of timestamping was discovered by Driscoll et. al. in the context of persistent data structures where one wishes to track the sequences of changes made to a data structure. We extend this idea to develop an archiving tool for XML data that is capable of providing meaningful change descriptions and can also efficiently support a variety of basic functions concerning the evolution of data such as retrieval of any specific version from the archive and querying the temporal history of any element. This is in contrast to diff-based approaches where such operations may require undoing a large number of changes or significant reasoning with the deltas. Surprisingly, our archiving technique does not incur any significant space overhead when contrasted with other approaches. Our experimental results support this and also show that the compacted archive file interacts well with other compression techniques. Finally, another useful property of our approach is that the resulting archive is also in XML and hence can directly leverage existing XML tools
Positive Magneto-Resistance in Quasi-1D Conductors
We present here a simple qualitative model that interpolates between the high
and low temperature properties of quasi-1D conductors. At high temperatures we
argue that transport is governed by inelastic scattering whereas at low
temperatures the conductance decays exponentially with the electron dephasing
length. The crossover between these regimes occurs at the temperature at which
the elastic and inelastic scattering times become equal. This model is shown to
be in quantitative agreement with the organic conductor .
Within this model, we also show that on the insulating side, the positive
magnetoresistance of the form observed in and
other quasi-1D conductors can be explained by the role spin-flip scattering
plays in the electron dephasing rate.Comment: 4 pages, Latex, no figure
Factorizations and Physical Representations
A Hilbert space in M dimensions is shown explicitly to accommodate
representations that reflect the prime numbers decomposition of M.
Representations that exhibit the factorization of M into two relatively prime
numbers: the kq representation (J. Zak, Phys. Today, {\bf 23} (2), 51 (1970)),
and related representations termed representations (together with
their conjugates) are analysed, as well as a representation that exhibits the
complete factorization of M. In this latter representation each quantum number
varies in a subspace that is associated with one of the prime numbers that make
up M
PyCOOL - a Cosmological Object-Oriented Lattice code written in Python
There are a number of different phenomena in the early universe that have to
be studied numerically with lattice simulations. This paper presents a graphics
processing unit (GPU) accelerated Python program called PyCOOL that solves the
evolution of scalar fields in a lattice with very precise symplectic
integrators. The program has been written with the intention to hit a sweet
spot of speed, accuracy and user friendliness. This has been achieved by using
the Python language with the PyCUDA interface to make a program that is easy to
adapt to different scalar field models. In this paper we derive the symplectic
dynamics that govern the evolution of the system and then present the
implementation of the program in Python and PyCUDA. The functionality of the
program is tested in a chaotic inflation preheating model, a single field
oscillon case and in a supersymmetric curvaton model which leads to Q-ball
production. We have also compared the performance of a consumer graphics card
to a professional Tesla compute card in these simulations. We find that the
program is not only accurate but also very fast. To further increase the
usefulness of the program we have equipped it with numerous post-processing
functions that provide useful information about the cosmological model. These
include various spectra and statistics of the fields. The program can be
additionally used to calculate the generated curvature perturbation. The
program is publicly available under GNU General Public License at
