Flows between Dualities for 3d Chern-Simons Theories
We study Seiberg-like dualities for 3d N=2 theories with flavors in
fundamental and adjoint representations. The recent results of Intriligator and
Seiberg provide a derivation of an Aharony duality from a Giveon-Kutasov
duality. We extend their result to the case of more general theories involving
various masses for fundamental quarks and adjoint fields. By fine tuning the
vev of a scalar field and using various identifications between gauge groups
and their singlet duals, we derive several examples of Aharony dualities. For
theories with an adjoint field, we discuss the connection between the Aharony
dualities proposed by Kim and Park for theories with multiple Coulomb branches
and Giveon-Kutasov-Niarchos dualities.Comment: 21 page
Impact of Micro Hydropower Projects on Household Income, Expenditure and Diversification of Livelihood Strategies in Azad Jammu and Kashmir
The study examines the impact of Micro Hydropower (MHP)
projects on households’ income, consumption and diversification of
livelihood strategies in District Hattian Bala, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
A multinomial logistic model is used to investigate the possible role of
MHP and other control variables on households’ adoption of livelihood
strategies. The Results show that MHP-micro hydropower has a positive
significant effect on household’s adoption of non-farm and diversified
livelihood strategies. These findings suggest that MHP projects in
Northern areas of Pakistan could help in improving household’s income
and consumption through adoption of high income livelihood strategies.

Totally Umbilical Pseudo-Slant Submanifolds of a Nearly Cosymplectic Manifold
2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 53C40, 53B25.In the present note we study totally umbilical pseudo-slant submanifolds of a nearly cosymplectic manifold. We have obtained a classification theorem for totally umbilical pseudo-slant submanifolds of a nearly cosymplectic manifold
The impacts of ICT on the students’ Performance: A Review of Access to Information
The study was on the Impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on the students and his/her information to access in the Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan. A sample of 50 respondents (students) was selected from the department of Political science, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. However, related literatures were reviewed from textbooks, journals and past researches. The research instruments were questionnaire which was statically analyzed with contingency tables while the hypotheses were tested by using the mean statistic. The results of the present study showed a diverse response of the student regarding the impact of ICT’s on the students and their access to information
Flows between Aharony and Giveon-Kutasov Dualities in 3d field theories derived from Type IIB String theories
Bosonic string theory and superstring theory are briefly overviewed. Three dimensional field theories are similarly discussed, with a focus on effective supersymmetric theories. It is shown how to induced contributions to the Chern-Simons level of the low energy theory, by integrating out massive matter. Such effective field theories are then shown to arise from type IIB brane configurations based on the Hanany-Witten brane configuration. Strong-weak dualities are overviewed, leading to a discussion of the three dimensional strong-weak dualities: Aharony duality for theories with zero Chern-Simons level, and Giveon-Kutasov duality for theories with non-zero Chern-Simons level. In the results section, brane configurations corresponding to three-dimensional field theories with various numbers of flavour of massive matter are investigated. The resulting low energy field theories are explained, and the flows between Aharony and Giveon-Kutasov dualities are catalogued. Three dimensional effective field theories obtained through the inclusion of massive adjoint matter are also examined, with the flows between Aharony and Giveon-Kutasov dualities, again, catalogued. Finally, the significance of the results and the possibilities for future research, are discussed
