Developing magnetic functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes-based buckypaper for the removal of Furazolid

    Get PDF
Magnetic f-MWCNTs-based BP/PVA membrane was fabricated and utilized for the elimination of furazolidone (FZD) from aqueous solution. Characterisation and adsorption studies were performed to evaluate the performance and adsorptive efficiency, respectively of the membrane. Furthermore, statistical and machine learning technique were also applied to predict the removal efficiency of FZD on the membrane. The results revealed that magnetic f-MWCNTs-based BP/PVA membrane has the potential to be used as an efficient membrane for practical applications

Comprehensive Account of Inoculation and Coinoculation in Soybean

    Get PDF
This chapter elaborates dependency of leguminous plants on rhizobia to carry out dynamic process of nitrogen fixation. Soybean, an extensively grown leguminous crop with 30% share in world’s vegetable oil, is taken into account to understand its symbiotic relationship with plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs). This chapter narrates colonization of PGPRs on soybean roots and single and mixed inoculation and coinoculation of certain strains of specialized bacteria with rhizobia. PGPRs’ coinoculation seemed more effective than mono-inoculation and is discussed in Ref. to nodulation rate. Moreover, dynamic linear models for quantification of leguminous biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) are reviewed. This chapter further uncoils the relevance of foliar application to the release of phytohormones by PGPRs, resulting in situ biosynthesis of active metabolites in phyllosphere. Inoculation of phytohormones is compared to their exogenous application for nodule organogenesis. Finally, the influence of coinoculation on enhanced micronutrient bioavailability is relayed. The chapter is concluded with technical and economic aspects of coinoculation in soybean

Impact of Parental Involvement on Achievement Score of Students at Elementary Level

    Get PDF
The aim of this research was to investigate the impact of parental involvement on the achievement score of elementary-level students. Parental involvement was the independent variable and the achievement scores of students were the dependent variable. Whereas, demographic variables like school status, SES, and parents’ qualifications were also important. This study was comparative in nature and all elementary-level schools were taken as population. Elementary campuses of boys and girls were conveniently selected from the public sector in Faisalabad and taken as accessible population. From this accessible population, a sample of 376 students (307 male and 69 female) were drawn who have passed the elementary exams. Demographic sheets, copies of elementary result cards, and questionnaires were collected in order to find out the impact of parental involvement on the achievement scores of students at the elementary level. Descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, frequency) was employed along with ANOVA, and t-test for data analysis. Keeping in view the results taken from Punjab Examination Commission, significant differences between the academic performance of the children belonging to the businessmen class and the job holders’ class were noticed. Further, it was also determined from the dished-out results that the difference in academic achievement level is significant when more involvement of parents was there

3D Simulation of a Yogurt Filling Machine Using Grafcet Studio and Factory IO: Realization of Industry 4.0

    Get PDF
Manufacturing systems, enterprises and academic institutions worldwide are implementing Industry 4.0 (IR4.0). By integrating the services and equipment, IR4.0 develops autonomous systems that manage industrial operations and exchange real-time data in real time. This study includes a simulation of an existing production system using the GRAFCET Studio software. To realize the concept of a 3D smart factory, the GRAFCET programming language was used and connected to the Factory IO software. The simulation can accurately replicate the filling, scanning and removing processes in an actual yogurt filling system. A virtual factory was designed and developed using the IO Factory software to clarify the workflow and simplify the modification of the production line. This virtual factory better enables the identification of areas for optimization, improving also efficiency and productivity. A comparison between the simulated and the actual system results shows that the simulated results are approximately 90% accurate. In addition, some improvements are proposed to enhance the existing system\u27s efficiency. The improvements involved the testing of the system under different conditions to identify shortcomings and modify the design accordingly

A Comparative Evaluation of Comma-shaped Incision with Standard Incision in Mandibular Third Molar Surgery: A Clinical Study

Objectives: Many series of side effects will be produced with the extraction of impacted lower third molar which including pain, swelling, inflammation, and trismus. Flap design is important to allow good visibility, reach to the impacted tooth, and for healing of the surgically created defect. This study aims at the evaluation and comparison of standard flap design with comma type of flap design used in the surgical extraction of impacted mandibular third molar and to objectively evaluate the merits and demerits of individual flap design. Study design: In this study, 200 patients with bilateral mandibular third molars impaction of age group of 18 to 30 years were selected for the study, To reflect the mucoperiosteal flap on one side standard incision and on other side comma incision were used and, after which the steps are common in the removal of impacted third molars. Immediately on the postoperative days 1, 3 and 7, the postoperative parameters (pain, swelling and mouth opening were recorded. And periodontal status were recorded preoperatively, 1st month and 2nd month respectively. Results and conclusion: The pain and swelling scores were found to be significantly lower in the surgical area with comma incisions which was recorded on days 1, 3 and 7 as compared to the area where standard incisions were made. In mouth opening, there was a sufficiently great difference seen between the two incisions on first postoperative day, but though there was clinical difference between the two incisions on day 3 and 7 there was no statistical significance. The results of the study shows no lingual nerve paresthesia or any other morbidity hence, the new incision design should probably be made the conventional method, considering the less degree of postoperative complications encountered. although it may require some practice initially. Clinical implications: Third molar impactions are common and usually associated with postoperative complications, like pain, swelling, trismus and pocket formation. Incision and flap design is important in healing wound and minimizing postoperative complications. Comma incision design has shown less postoperative complication in compare to standard incision&nbsp

DISCUSSION ON THE REMEDIATION TECHNIQUES FOR EARTH DAMS IN KARST GEOLOGIC ENVIRONMENTS

    Get PDF
The placement of dams is not always by choice but by the most suitable location to meet expectations from the dam.  Common geotechnical investigations are often not to the extent necessary to design the dam and perform a full scale analysis.  Karst topography can sometimes underlay the dam and prove to be a major issue. The nature of karst topography is very complex and at times nearly impossible to model. Upon the appearance of issues developed due to karst topography it is imperative to perform a full scale geotechnical subsurface analysis within the area of the proposed dam, downstream of the dam, within the embankment of the dam, and within the reservoir itself. Upon first filling the cavities can become washed out and an increase in seepage could be observed. There are a number of techniques available for minimizing or to completely stop the seepage.  The following paper discusses common practices for grouting and treatment of seepage in case specific circumstances

The purpose of this study is to analyze the kinematic variables (shuttle velocity and racket angle) and segmental variables. For the purpose of the study eight male intervarsity badminton players were selected as the subjects. The mean age, height and body weight of the subjects were reported as 18.8± 0.9 years, 174.8± 3.5 cm & 66.9 ± 4.5 kg respectively. Canon Legria HF S10 Camcorder operating at 60 Hz used to record the movement. The identified clips were analyzed with the help of Silicon Coach Pro7 motion analysis software. The result of study revealed that there is significant difference existed between forehand short service and backhand short service at racket angle and shoulder angle. Whereas there was negative relationship exists between shoulder angle and shuttle velocity
