Ikäihmisten muistin kehittäminen : Videon tuottaminen Ikäkeskuksen päivätoiminnan yksiköille

Vuosittain noin 13000 suomalaista sairastuu muistisairauksiin ja määrän odotetaan lisääntyvän tulevina vuosina. Muistin kehittämisessä ja ylläpitämisessä erityisen tärkeää ovat terveet elämäntavat, vireä sosiaalinen toiminta sekä aivojen terveyttä tukevat toiminnot. Tämän toiminnallisen opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tuottaa video Vaasan kaupungin Aktivointi-TV:n ja Ikäkeskuksen käyttöön. Tavoitteena oli tuottaa muistin kehittämiseen liittyvä video, jota voivat sekä asiakkaat että henkilökunta katsoa. Video sisältää tietoa muistihoitajien työstä, Ikäkeskuksen toiminnasta, muistisairauksista sekä muistin kehittämistä harjoittavista keinoista. Teoreettinen viitekehys koostuu seuraavista käsitteistä: ikäihminen, muisti, muistin kehittäminen, muistisairaus ja muistisairaan kuntouttava hoito. Kyseisistä käsitteistä muistisairaus on jaettu alaotsikoihin, joissa käsitellään tarkemmin yleisimpiä muistisairauksia. Lisäksi toiminnallista opinnäytetyötä käsiteltiin projektina. Teoriaosioon kerättiin aineistoa aiheeseen liittyvästä kirjallisuudesta ja tieteellisistä julkaisuista. Tämän opinnäytetyön tekeminen alkoi suunnittelulla keväällä 2014 ja se saatiin valmiiksi keväällä 2015.Approximately 130000 Finnish citizens are diagnosed with memory disorders every year and the amount will increase in the future. The purpose of this practice-based bachelor´s thesis was to produce a video to be used by the Activation-TV and Vaasa Seniors Centre in the city of Vaasa. The aim was to make a video for the clients and the staff about developing one´s memory. The video includes information about the work of a memory nurse, about the Vaasa Seniors Centre, about memory disorders and methods that can be used to develop one´s memory. The theoretical frame includes the following concepts: a senior citizen, the memory, developing the memory, a memory disease and the rehabilitative nursing of a person with a memory disorder. The most common memory diseases are dealt with. Also the concept of a practice-based thesis as a project was looked at. Literature in the field and scientific publications have been used as source material. The planning of this bachelor´s thesis started in 2014 and it was completed a year later

"Hyvä ilmapiiri on sitte sellanen pohja sille, että voi oppia elämään" : Työilmapiirin tärkeys ja haasteellisuus lastensuojeluyksikössä

Tässä opinnäytetyössä tutkitaan työtekijöiden näkemyksiä hyvästä työilmapiiristä, sen merkityksestä lastensuojeluyksikössä sekä lastensuojelutyön haasteista työilmapiirille. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli myös antaa työelämän yhteistyötaholle, lastensuojeluyksikkö Fieterille, tietoa heidän työilmapiiristään ja samalla toteuttaa heidän omavalvontasuunnitelmaansa. Tutkimus oli kvalitatiivinen ja se toteutettiin teemahaastatteluin. Haastatteluihin osallistuivat yksikön kaikki kahdeksan työntekijää. Teoriaosuus muodostuu tutkimuksessa suurimmaksi osaksi työilmapiirin ja lastensuojelun ympärille. Työilmapiiriosuudessa käsitellään hyvän työilmapiirin erilaisia määritelmiä, sen kehittämistä sekä ylläpitoa. Sitä, mistä hyvän työilmapiirin ajatellaan koostuvan. Lastensuojeluosuudessa tarkastellaan sosiaalialan työn haasteita, sillä jokaisen yksittäisen työntekijän haasteet ovat myös haasteita työilmapiirille. Avaan myös sitä, millaisista asioista lastensuojeluyksikössä työskentely koostuu. Sillä lastensuojelutyön luonne on hyvä ymmärtää, jotta ymmärtäisi työilmapiirin tärkeyden juuri tässä työssä. Lisäksi teoriassa käsitellään lyhyesti omavalvontaa ja Fieterin omavalvontasuunnitelmaa. Tutkimustulosten mukaan hyvä työilmapiiri lastensuojeluyksikössä koetaan erittäin tärkeäksi sekä työntekijöiden jaksamisen että lasten tasapainoisen kehittymisen kannalta. Lastensuojeluyksikkö Fieterin ilmapiiri koettiin hyväksi ja kehitysehdotuksia löytyi vain vähän. Tuloksista voi todeta, että luottamuksellisuus, avoimuus ja keskustelevuus luovat perustan hyvälle työilmapiirille. Jokaisella yksilöllä on kuitenkin oma näkemyksensä hyvän työilmapiirin elementeistä. Lastensuojeluyksikössä työskentelyssä nähtiin olevan omia haasteita ilmapiirin kannalta. Haasteeksi nostettiin erityisesti se, että lapset pyrkivät lyömään kiilaa aikuisten välille.This thesis studies employees' opinions and views about a good work athmosphere, its meaning in a child custody unit, and the challenges child protection work causes to the working environment. This study also intends to provide valuable information for the stakeholder, child custody unit Fieter, about their work athmosphere and to help them to actively check and execute their self-monitoring plan. The thesis' study method was qualitative and was implemented through themed interviews. A total eight of the Fieter's employees took part in these interviews. The work athmosphere and children's aid society form the theoretical part of the thesis. The part of the thesis dealing with work atmosphere introduces different kinds of definitions for a good work atmosphere, developing and maintaining a good atmosphere, i.e. everything that is being considered as a 'good work athmosphere'. The children's aid society part of this work studies the challenges related to the social work field, as the challenges for an individual employee are also challenges to the work environment and athmosphere. The thesis also explains the work in a child custody unit. It is important to understand the nature of the child welfare work in order to understand the importance of the work atmosphere in this particular job. The theory part also handles briefly self-auditing and Fieter's self monitoring plan. It was found that a good work atmosphere in the child custody unit is considered to be a really important factor for employees’ well-being and energy levels, and for stable growth and development of the children. The work atmosphere at the Fieter's child custody unit was found to be good, and only few development proposals came up. The results suggest that trust, transparency and open debate lay the foundation for a good work atmosphere. However, each of the Fieter's units has their own vision of the elements of a good work environment. Work at the child custody unit was seen to cause some challenges regarding the atmosphere. The biggest challenge raised in particular was the fact that the children try to manipulate the adults to take sides against each other
