Osteogenic distraction to treat solitary median maxillary central incisor syndrome: a case report
The literature has reported few cases with comprehensive dental treatment. No surgical treatment has been proposed before.
We report the case of an eight-year-old girl initially treated with rapid maxillary expansion.
After the failure of two rapid maxillary expansions, the patient was successfully treated with osteogenic distraction at the age of 12 years old. The distraction, associated with ultibracketed fixed orthodontic treatment, created enough space to place a prosthetic central incisor without dental extractions.
Osteogenic distraction is an interesting option to treat patients with SMMCI
Jacobi Structures in
The most general Jacobi brackets in are constructed after
solving the equations imposed by the Jacobi identity. Two classes of Jacobi
brackets were identified, according to the rank of the Jacobi structures. The
associated Hamiltonian vector fields are also constructed
A Generalization of Poisson-Nijenhuis Structures
We generalize Poisson-Nijenhuis structures. We prove that on a manifold
endowed with a Nijenhuis tensor and a Jacobi structure which are compatible,
there is a hierarchy of pairwise compatible Jacobi structures.
Furthermore, we study the homogeneous Poisson-Nijenhuis structures and their
relations with Jacobi structures.Comment: 21 pages, Late
Manufacturing complexity evaluation at the design stage for both machining and layered manufacturing
International audienceIn this paper, a methodology to estimate manufacturing complexity for both machining and layered manufacturing is proposed in order to realize tools (dies or molds) by a combination of a subtractive and an additive process. Manufacturability indexes are calculated at the tool design stage, these indexes provide an accurate view of which areas of the tool will advantageously be machined or manufactured by an additive process. In this case, tools are not seen as single pieces but as 3-D puzzles with modules, manufactured aside by the best process and further assembled
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) purpose is to assess the genetic status of 3 day-old embryos. PGD offers thus to couples « at-risk » of a genetic disorder an earlier option to prenatal diagnosis (PND). At the beginning, PGD’s indications, patients and law were very closed to PND, but PGD specificities are gradually raising. Particularly, indications vary considerably in countries where the absence of law authorizes all the practices. Some of these applications are moreover raising serious ethical issues. Even in France, where this activity is particularly supervised, the recent modification to the law marks this evolution
Environmental performance modeling for additive manufacturing processes
International audienceSustainability means considering economic, social and environmental aspects. In the mechanical product design field, sustainability means thinking about eco-design and life cycle analysis, when the whole life cycle of the product (from raw material extraction to end of life) is concerned with environmental impacts. Nowadays, most of the manufacturing methods are driven only by money, and the environmental and social aspects are not taken into account. The goal of this paper is to propose an environmental assessment methodology of the manufacturing processes. In this methodology, all flows consumed and produced (material, fluids, electricity) are considered. A predictive model of flow consumption is defined from the CAD model of the product and the manufacturing program. The aim is to be able to minimize the environmental impacts of the manufacturing during the design stage. In this paper, the focus is put on additive manufacturing
