Angel Groups: Developing a Regional Economic Development Strategy for Robust Seed Capital Ecosystems for Entrepreneurs
The purpose of this paper is to identify the link between the success of angel organizational structures and the economic footprint within which angel groups operate; ultimately suggesting a novel approach of assisting traditional angel group structures in their operations and entrepreneurs in the process of securing early stage financing. Given the varied angel group structures that exist, some angel portals may be more appropriate for certain regions than others. In-depth field research was developed and analyzed by creating the first undergraduate student-run angel investment fund, to co-invest with investors in the informal venture capital market, in the United States. The research presented in this paper will provide economic planners, educational leaders, and interested students with a potential guideline of how best to organize angel investors within their respective regions, ultimately building local investment capacity that will benefit state economies by creating better financing opportunities for entrepreneurs
A CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE THE COMBINED EFFECT OF KESHARSIDDHA GHRIT NASYA AND YOG BASTI ALONG WITH TAB. PATHYADI GHANVATI IN ARDHAVBHEDAKA W.S.R. TO MIGRAINE
Migraine is the disease of recurrent attack of headache which usually involves half of head. It is felt as throbbing type of pain and associated with various symptoms like, Nausea, vomiting, Photophobia etc. Its acute attacks are treated with different analgesics or ergotamine preparations. A modern medicine gives instant relief from symptoms but may cause drowsiness, insomnia, depression etc.
As compare to that, Ayurveda has variety of natural plant medication and Panchakarma therapeutic procedures in management of Ardhavabhedaka. Thus, the study was selected to evaluate the efficacy of Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapy in migraine. The duration of the treatment was 30 days. Out of 17 migraine patients who were offered this Ayurvedic treatment, 12 patients completed total 30 days treatment protocol. Detail history and examination of each patient were done. Kesharsiddhaghrit Nasya and Dashmul kwath yog basti given along with Tab. Pathathyadi Ghanvati.
Evaluation was done. Total disappearance of headache and associated symptoms at completion of treatment was observed in 66.66% patients. Mild episode of headache without need of any regular treatment was observed in 8.33% of patients. Low intensity of pain along with their regular treatment was observed in 16.66% of patients. Very mild improvement in 8.33% patients and no worst pain was noted in a single patient during treatment (0.0%); respectively. From the results and observation obtained from this study it can be concluded that Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapy showing better results in Ardhavabhedaka. No any harmful side effects were found during this entire study

Evaluation of agricultural disinfectants and necrotic enteritis preventatives in broiler chickens
The objective of this study was to determine the effect of time, temperature and
organic matter on disinfectant efficacy. Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and Salmonella
Typhimurium (ST) were used as organisms to represent Gram positive and Gram
negative bacteria, respectively, commonly found in poultry housing. Three independent
experiments evaluated the effect of temperature, time, and organic matter on the efficacy
of working concentrations of disinfectants against representative organisms found in
commercial poultry housing. Quaternary ammonium, chlorhexidine, phenolic and
binary ammonium based solutions represented disinfectants commonly used within the
poultry industry. Results from these experiments indicated that long term storage of
disinfectants will reduce their efficacy against SA. However, a reduction (p ≤ 0.05) in
efficacy was observed with the phenolic compound against ST at elevated temperatures.
Following the inclusion of organic matter (OM), reduced (p ≤ 0.05) efficacy of all
disinfectants was observed in a dose dependent manner against both organisms, with the
exception of the phenolic compound against SA. Fresh disinfectant performed better (p ≤ 0.05) in the presence of OM than 30 wk old disinfectant. These results emphasize the
need to use fresh disinfectants and that OM should be removed prior to disinfection.
We also evaluated the effect of bismuth citrate, lactose and citric acids on the
development of necrotic enteritis in broilers. Clostridium perfringens’ associated
necrotic enteritis in poultry causes significant loss and increased morbidity in the
industry. Due to the reduced usage of antibiotic growth promoters, the incidence of
necrotic enteritis has increased. These experiments evaluated different levels of bismuth
citrate and bismuth citrate with lactose or citric acid added, on lesion development,
bacterial intestinal colonization of C. perfringens and pH levels in the gut of broilers
orally challenged with C.perfringens. Results from this investigation indicate that
bismuth citrate at 100 ppm and 200 ppm caused a reduction (p ≤ 0.05) in C. perfringens
colonization and intestinal lesion development. The addition of dietary lactose to
bismuth citrate enhanced the effect of bismuth citrate on intestinal lesion development.
These data suggest that bismuth citrate alone or in combination with dietary lactose will
reduce intestinal lesion development in broilers with necrotic enteritis
Immunomodulatory Effects of Probiotic and Anticoccidial Treatments in Broiler Chickens
Four experiments evaluated the impact of probiotic administration on the immune response of broilers vaccinated with a live coccidiosis vaccine. Experiment one showed that probiotic administration increased heterophil and monocyte oxidative burst, and lymphocyte proliferation at multiple time points. In experiment two, probiotic + vaccine increased heterophil and monocyte oxidative burst on d 15 when compared with the negative controls. Overall, vaccine administration alone showed the highest response when compared to all other treatments. In the second trial, all birds were exposed to Eimeria oocysts in the litter and oral gavaged. The results showed that probiotic + vaccine resulted in greater heterophil and monocyte oxidative burst levels on d 14 and 28 when compared to the negative controls. Increases in lymphocyte proliferation were also seen in the probiotic + vaccine and probiotic alone broilers on d 14 among other treatments.
In experiment three, heterophil oxidative burst was increased (p <= 0.05) in the vaccine alone group, vaccine with probiotic group, and the ionophore with probiotic group, when compared to the negative control. Monocyte oxidative burst was increased (p <= 0.05) in the vaccine with probiotic group on d 36 and 43, compared to the negative control. Lymphocyte proliferation was greater (p <= 0.05) on d 22 and 36 in the ionophore with probiotic group, when compared to the negative control.
Experiment four showed that liver AVBD 2 gene expression elevated (p <= 0.05) in the probiotic + vaccine group relative to the probiotic alone group. Ileum AVBD 2 gene expression was not affected among any of the treatments was evaluated. Liver AVBD 9 was demonstrated to have higher (p <= 0.05) gene expression in the vaccine group when compared to controls. When AVBD 9 gene expression was evaluated in the ileum, a decrease (p <= 0.05) was observed in all treatments compared to the control group. These data suggest that simultaneous administration of probiotics during coccidiosis vaccination or ionophore treatment has the ability to modulate the immune response at varying time points
An incidental case of successful pregnancy outcome and uneventful vaginal hysterectomy with pelvic floor repair in uterus didelphys unicollis at a remote place: A case report
Congenital malformations in a female genital tract are most commonly diagnosed in the reproductive period. Uterus didelphys, also known as a duplicated uterus, is an embryological abnormality, resulting from a complete failure of fusion of Mullerian ducts causing full uterine development to erroneously occur bilaterally. It is associated with many obstetrical complications and thus has clinical importance. Here, we present the case of an elderly patient with a history of third-degree uterovaginal prolapse with cystocele and rectocele at a remote place. During her reproductive life, she carried her pregnancies to term and delivered by full-term vaginal normal deliveries without any complications. An uncomplicated vaginal hysterectomy with pelvic floor repair was done, and the post-operative period was uneventful
Comparative evaluation of anti microbial effects of triple antibiotic paste and amox and its derivatives against E. Faecalis : an in vitro study
Enterococcus faecalis is a microorganism commonly detected in asymptomatic, persistent endodontic infections. Triple antibiotic paste has stood the test of time as a proven antibiotic combination against E. Faecalis. However, problems with this include staining of teeth and standardization of the preparation. Thus, the search for better alternatives and better preparation techniques is still on. To observe the potential of combinations [(Amoxicillin+ Metronidazole, Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid + Metronidazole; Amoxicillin and Cloxacillin + Metronidazole)] over Triple Antibiotic Paste. Fifty single rooted teeth free from dental caries were selected for the study. Teeth were cut at equal distance from root apex (13mm from apex) with sterile diamond disk and straight hand piece for standardization of root length. The opening of root canal was enlarged with engine driven pro-taper files. To remove the organic and inorganic debris, canal was cleaned with 17% EDTA followed by 2.5% NaOCl for 5min. Distilled water irrigation was done for 5 min to remove any traces of used chemical and then sterilized in autoclave at 1200c for 15 min. at 15 lbs pressure. Bacteria cultured on blood agar plate and at the same time fresh antibiotic combinations were made and placed in the root canals, then incubated in the incubator, under sterile conditions and observed at 24hrs, 48hr and 72hrs. The largest inhibition zones were observed for the Triple Antibiotic Paste, followed by Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid + Metronidazole group however, the clearest zones were achieved with Amoxicillin and Clavlunic acid + Metronidazole group and the smallest for Amoxicillin and Metronidazole group. The results suggest that though Triple antibiotic showed the maximum inhibition, Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid combination along with Metronidazole gave the most reliable results. Further studies using the different combinations and different concentrations along with different methods of increasing the shelf life of such medications can be undertaken
