In the title compound, C31H39Br2N3O6S2, a 17-membered aza-macrocyclic ligand containing two ether O and three aza N atoms, the three pendant aromatic rings form an ‘E’ shape. The dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and the side ones are 17.8 (3) and 7.4 (3)°, and the dihedral angle between the tosyl rings is 10.6 (3)°. The methyl group is disordered over two orientations, with occupancies of 0.52 (15) and 0.48 (15)

Synthesis, characterization and investigation of electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties of peripherally tetra 4-phenylthiazole-2-thiol substituted metal-free, zinc(II), copper(II) and cobalt(II) phthalocyanines

Electrochemical characterizations of metallo-phthalocyanine complexes were conducted by voltammetric and in situ spectroelectrochemical measurements. (CoPc)-Pc-II went [(CoPc-2)-Pc-II]/[(CoPc-2)-Pc-I](1-), [(CoPc-2)-Pc-I](1-)/ [(CoPc-3)-Pc-I](2-), [(CoPc-3)-Pc-I](2-)/[(CoPc-4)-Pc-I](3-) and [(CoPc-2)-Pc-I]/[(CoPc-2)-Pc-II](1+) reduction and oxidation processes respectively. Synthesis, characterization and electrochemistry of a new organosoluble metal-free and metallophthalocyanines
Biyiklioglu, Zekeriya/0000-0001-5138-214X; TOPCU, Saim/0000-0002-1169-6037WOS: 0002557210000194 -[2-(Phenylthio)ethoxy]phthalonitrile 3 was synthesized by nucleophilic displacement of nitro group in 4-nitrophthalonitrile with 2-(phenylthio)ethanol 1. The metal-free phthalocyanine 4 was prepared by the reaction of a dinitrile monomer with 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol. Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(I) phthalocyanines 5, 7, 8 were prepared by reaction of the dinitrile compound with the chlorides of Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(I) in DMAE. Zn(II) phthalocyanine 6, was prepared by reaction of the dinitrile compound with the acetates of Zn(II) in DMAE. Electrochemical behaviours of novel metal-free, Co(II) and Zn(II) phthalocyanines were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, potential differential pulse voltammetry techniques.
