Dynamic capabilities in small and medium manufacturing firms in rural Finland – role of social capital?

During the last decade, there has been wide agreement on the importance of dynamic capabilities on economic performance of firms. Simultaneously an increasing literature suggests that economic dynamics is embedded in social relations and social institutions. In this article, the determinants of dynamic capabilities of small manufacturing Finnish firms will be explored. Specifically we focus on the importance of social capital for firm dynamics. According to analysis, the most important antecedents of dynamic capabilities of firms are its strategy and social capital. Social capital as wide and active participation in network cooperation correlates statistically significantly with the firm dynamics. Social capital increases firm dynamics by enhancing communication and knowledge spillovers in corporate networks. Active networkers gain important information from their bridging and linking ties, such as other firms and public institutions. According to the analysis, the increase of trust in business relations does not correlate with the dynamic capabilities. ''Lapsen etu on aina se ensisijainen, mitä me mietitään.'' : lapsen kasvun ja kehityksen tukeminen Hämeenlinnan vankilan tutkintavankeuden perheosastolla

Opinnäytetyömme aiheena oli lapsen kasvun ja kehityksen tukeminen Hämeenlinnan vankilan tutkintavankeuden perheosastolla. Opinnäytetyömme tavoitteena oli tuoda näkyväksi lapsen kasvun ja kehityksen tukeminen vankilan arjessa ja tutkia, kuinka sitä toteutetaan tutkintavankeuden perheosastolla. Tavoitteena oli myös tuoda näkyväksi perheosaston työntekijöiden yhteisiä näkemyksiä siitä, miten lapsen kasvua ja kehitystä tuetaan perheosastolla. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli saada perheosaston työntekijät huomioimaan lapsen etua entisestään. Toimeksiantajamme oli Kanta-Hämeen perhetyö ry, joka ylläpitää Hämeenlinnan tutkintavankeuden perheosastoa. Perheosasto on lastensuojeluyksikkö, jonka perustehtävänä on tukea ja turvata lapsen tarpeita vastaava kasvu ja kehitys sekä tukea lapsen ja vanhemman välistä vuorovaikutusta vanhemman vankeuden aikana. Rajasimme lapsen kasvun ja kehityksen käsittelemisen kolmeen ensimmäiseen ikävuoteen, sillä tutkintavankeuteen sijoitetun lapsen tulee olla sijoittamishetkellä alle kaksivuotias, ja hän voi olla korkeintaan kolmevuotiaaksi asti sijoitettuna. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena haastattelemalla viittä perheosaston työntekijää. Tutkimusmenetelmänä oli teemahaastattelu. Haastattelun teemat olivat lapsen arki perheosastolla, lastensuojelun rooli lapsen sijoittamisessa vankilaan sekä vanhemman tukeminen lapsen kasvatuksessa. Tuloksista voidaan päätellä, että lapsen kasvua ja kehitystä on turvaamassa moni asia. Perheosastolla toimitaan lapsen rytmien mukaan ja lapsi yksilöllisesti huomioiden. Lapsen edun toteutumista arvioidaan koko osastojakson ajan, ja lastensuojeluun ollaan yhteydessä, jos huolta herää. Myös vanhemman tukeminen on tärkeää, jotta hän jaksaa vastata lapsensa tarpeisiin.The subject of this thesis was the child's growth and development orientation in Hämeenlinna’s Prison for pre-trial detention. The aim of our study was to bring visible in everyday life child’s growth and development to support the prison and explore how it is carried out in pre-trial detention ward. The aim was also to bring the common views to the family department employees on how a child's growth and development are taken into account to support the family unit. The purpose of this study was to get the family department employees take into account the child's interests even better. Our thesis was commissioned by the Kanta-Häme Family Work Association, which maintains the family department Hämeenlinna’s pre-trial detention. Family Department child protection unit’s basic task is to support and secure the corresponding needs of the child’s growth and development, and to support the interaction between child and parent during the parent's imprisonment. Our thesis was limited to a child's growth and development processing of the first three years of age, because the invested custody of the child must be less than two years old when the child is placed and he can be placed for up to three years. The thesis was carried out as a qualitative research by interviewing five family department employees. The research method was a theme interview. The themes of the interview were the child's everyday family department, the role of the child welfare placement of the child in prison, and supporting parent's upbringing. From the results, it can be concluded that the child's growth and development secures a lot of things. The work in the family department is done according to the child's rhythms and child’s individuality. Assessment of the child's interest is made throughout the department period, and the Child Welfare organization will be contacted if concern arises. Supporting mothers is also important, so that they can respond to the needs of their children

Työhyvinvointi S-market Kalevassa

Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää S-market Kalevan henkilökunnan työ-hyvinvointia. Kyselyssä mitattiin työntekijöiden tyytyväisyyttä. Opinnäytetyö sisältää teoriaosuuden, tutkimuksen esittelyn, tutkimustulokset ja tulosten johtopäätökset. Teoriaosuudessa käsitellään ensin työhyvinvointia lyhyesti ja tämän jälkeen työhyvinvoinnin osa-alueista omia voimavaroja, työyhteisöä ja esimiestyötä. Tutkimustapana käytettiin verkkokyselyä, joka on tehty tämän opinnäytetyön teoriaosuuden pohjalta. Tutkimusmenetelmä oli kvantitatiivinen eli määrällinen menetelmä. Verkkokysely luotiin Internetiin, ja vastaajilla oli aikaa vastata kyselyyn kaksi viikkoa. Verkkokyselyllä pyrittiin luomaan mahdollisimman objektiivinen tilanne vastaajille, jotta vastaaminen tuntuisi helpommalta.The purpose of this thesis was to examine how the staff of S-market Kaleva experiences their occupational welfare. The satisfaction was the most important factor to measure. The thesis consists of theory section, presentation of the study, the results and sums. The first thing in the theory section is to shortly determine occupational welfare and after that to pay attention to different sections in occupational welfare, employee’s own resources, work community and leadership. The method of this thesis was an online survey, which is based on the theory section of this study. Quantitative methods were used in the thesis. The online survey was created on Internet and there was a two-week response time for the respondents. Omakotitalon suunnittelu ja lämmitysjärjestelmien vertailu

Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli omakotitalon arkkitehtoninen suunnittelu ja miettiä siihen eri lämmitysjärjestelmävaihtoehtoja ja niiden mahdollisia yhdistelmiä. Työn tilaajilla oli valmiina 890m2 rinnetontti järvinäköalalla Jyväskylän Pikku-Haukkalassa, jonne suunniteltu 1,5-kerroksinen omakotitalo tullaan myöhemmin rakentamaan. Talon haluttiin kuluttavan mahdollisimman vähän lämpöenergiaa ja hyvien rakenneratkaisujen lisäksi mietittiin eri vaihtoehtoja lämpöenergianlähteiksi. Toiveena oli mahdollisimman ympäristöystävällinen, edullinen ja helppohoitoinen lämmitysjärjestelmä. Työn lopputuloksena syntyi tilaajia miellyttävät ratkaisut niin rakennussuunnittelun kuin lämpöenergiajärjestelmienkin puolesta. Suunnitelmien pohjalta tullaan tekemään lopulliset rakennuslupapiirustukset ja hakemaan rakennuslupaa.The purpose of this thesis was to detached house architectural design and to con-sider the different heating options and their possible combinations. The client had 890 square metres of hillside with a lake view in a residential area of Pikku-Haukkala, Jyväskylä, where the designed 1.5-storey house later was to be built. The client wished for the house to consume as little as possible of thermal energy and good design solutions too, different options for heat sources were also dis-cussed. The goal was to have a storey house that was affordable, a heating system that was easy to take care of and yet still as environmentally friendly as possible. The result was to find pleasing solutions in building design and thermal energy for the customer Plans will be made on the basis of the final construction drawings and apply for a building permit
