The influence of Emotional and Spiritual Intelligence was investigated on the lecturers’ Service Quality. Based on stratified sampling method, the results confirmed that both types of intelligence have a positive and significant influence on the lecturers’ teaching progression. In conclusion, if the average level of each intelligence was good, then the level of Service Quality would also excel accordingly. The study highlights the need to have both EQ and SQ as it will encourage and motivate them into giving their best service to the university as well as their highest commitment towards giving students the best quality learning experience.   Keywords: Emotional Intelligence; Higher Education Institutions; Service Quality; Spiritual Intelligence eISSN: 2398-4287© 2020. This research was conducted in August-October 2020 in Rokan Hilir Regency, the largest central of the fishing industry in Riau Province, Indonesia. The research objective to analyse the effect of trust on the fishing industry supply chain performance in the regency. Respondents were set 270 fishing companies based on the Slovin formula. They were taken purposively in four fishing centres, namely Panipahan (Pasir Limau Kapas district), Bagansiapiapi (Bangko), Kubu Babussalam, and Sinaboi. Collecting data using a closed questionnaire, containing a number of statements measured by a 7-point Likert scale. The data collected includes trust (credibility, top management capability, and government support), and supply chain performance (smooth of goods flow, financial flow, and information flow). Data analysed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS 3.3 software. The results showed that the trust has a positive and significant effect on the fishing industry performance in Rokan Hilir. This happens because the relationship between fellow entities of fishing industry supply chain occurs based on trust. The relationship between fishing companies (fisherman) and tauke (fish collectors, agents, and exporters) is based on patron-client ties, while the relationship between fellow tauke is based on family/blood ties. Both types of relationships have existed for year

A sustainable ecosystem of universities needs to show outstanding performance in the areas of employability, institutional social responsibility, and creative and performing arts. Thus, this study determined the influential role of emotional quotient (EQ) and spiritual quotient (SQ) on the lecturers’ excellence service quality (ESQ), which eventually led to effective classroom teaching. The data of 127 respondents were analyzed using the structural equation model with partial least square. The results confirmed that both types of quotients positively influence the lecturers’ teaching progression at the university. EQ and SQ have the encouraging power to motivate the academicians for the best service to the university through a quality learning experience. It can be concise that institutions that practice EQ and SQ values can perform better and blend a harmonious working spirit and tandem with the university’s growth. Support for sustainable development goal (SDG-4) via EQ and SQ is now required in humanizing education to ensure academicians’ competency and well-being, particularly in the aftermath of the Corona Virus Disease-19 disruption. Policymakers in the university should now capitalize the intelligence through professional initiatives. This study could have been better with a bigger sample size, but the investigation had limited access due to the university's policy on privacy

Educational systems in higher education systems have rapidly experienced changes and reforms, impacting the academicians' quality of life But, intelligence can boost the quality of life and subsequently the work performance among the academicians. Specifically, this study investigated how Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Spiritual Intelligence (SQ) influenced the lecturers’ Service Quality which eventually led to effective classroom teaching. The investigation is in line with the excellency outlined in the 2015-2025 Malaysian Education Blueprint, which likely affect how each academician has to cope with existing responsibilities and also achievements in their career. The Structural Equation Model with Partial Least Square was done on several groups of lecturers from private-owned institutions in Selangor who were selected via a stratified sampling method. The result of the Fornell-Larcker analysis of 127 respondents was used to access the discriminant validity of the structural model. The results confirmed that both types of intelligence have a positive and significant influence on the lecturers’ teaching progression at the university. The results confirmed that both types of intelligence have a positive and significant influence on the lecturer progression at the university. The study, therefore, concludes that if the average level of EQ and SQ was good, then the level of Service Quality would also excel accordingly. The study highlights the need for academics to have both EQ and SQ as it will encourage and motivate them into giving their best service to the university as well as their highest commitment towards giving students the best quality learning experience. Emotionally and spiritually intelligent lecturers understand their basic roles and responsibilities and are able to use this intelligence effectively at the workplace which will finally help them become an essential part of the university. The knowledge obtained from this study may provide university policymakers additional insights into emphasizing the development of this intelligence for both the academics and students as they pursue a higher service quality output. The focus could be on professional initiatives like increasing knowledge level, skills, abilities, values, and social assets. This study could have been better with bigger sample size. However, due to the university’s policy on privacy, this investigation had limited access to what could have been a much bigger academic opinion

In the last decade, the demand for halal food has increased significantly. The growth of the halal food demand is expected to provide an opportunity to produce more of halal products, especially food, which is very crucial for a Muslim in ensuring its authenticity. Recently, halal authenticity has been a major concern in the food industry. The issues of adulteration of haram or mushbooh ingredients in food productions (i.e. non-compliance to health or safety standards), non-compliance with Shariah law and contamination with non-halal ingredients need serious attention by all parties involved. This includes food safety, healthy, nutrition and quality. This paper attempts to understand the halal food integrity practices and its challenges along the halal supply chain. The challenges of halal food integrity practices are how to preserve the integrity of halal food along its supply chain that complies with the general principles of Shariah law and zero contamination with non-halal materials/ingredients. Generally, integrity refers to the consistency which synonymous with goodness, such as to do the right thing and to do things right. Halal integrity is to assure the products are being sourced, produced, processed, stored and disseminated parallel with the Islamic values of high quality and safety. To uphold the integrity of halal food is a very challenging task as contamination with non-halal ingredient at one point will disturb the whole halal chain. Thus, the adherence to halal integrity practices is important to be preserved and sustained through the activities of compliance to the law and standards, control, coordination, cooperation, communication and commitment along the supply chain by the manufacturers. As Malaysia to be a world halal hub, preserving and sustaining the integrity of halal food is an obligatory perspective in order to obtain the trust of the consumers. Therefore, the integrity of halal food should be monitored to sustain the authenticity of halal food

This survey research was conducted from August to October 2020 in Rokan Hilir, one of the largest fishing industry centers in Riau Province, Indonesia. There are two research objectives, namely to analyze the influence of productivity on the fishing industry supply chain performance, and the role of trust as a mediator in the influence of productivity on the fishing industry supply chain performance in Rokan Hilir. 270 fishing companies were respondents, using the Slovin formula. The hypothesis was tested by the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results show that all dimensions can reflect their respective latent variables (productivity, trust, and performance), so that they can be used as model estimators. Furthermore, the results of hypothesis testing show that productivity, both directly and through trust mediation, has a significant effect on the fisheries industry supply chain performance
