    On some generalized ageing orderings

Some partial orderings which compare probability distributions with the expo- nential distribution, are found to be very useful to understand the phenomenon of ageing. Here, we introduce some new generalized partial orderings which de- scribe the same kind of characterization of some generalized ageing classes. We give some equivalent conditions for each of the orderings. Inter-relations among the generalized orderings have also been discussed

Inelastic Final-State Interactions and Two-body Hadronic B decays into Single-Isospin channels

The role of inelastic final-state interactions in CP asymmetries and branching ratios is investigated in certain chosen single isospin two-body hadronic B decays. Treating final-state interactions through Pomeron and Regge exchanges, we demonstrate that inelastic final state interactions could lead to sizeable effects on the CP asymmetry.Comment: 23 pages, Latex, 1 eps-figur

Ground State Spin Structure of Strongly Interacting Disordered 1D Hubbard Model

We study the influence of on-site disorder on the magnetic properties of the ground state of the infinite U 1D Hubbard model. We find that the ground state is not ferromagnetic. This is analyzed in terms of the algebraic structure of the spin dependence of the Hamiltonian. A simple explanation is derived for the 1/N periodicity in the persistent current for this model.Comment: 3 pages, no figure

Crop Performance and Yield of Groundnut, Sesame and Roselle in an Agroforesty Cropping System with Acacia senegal in North Kordofan (Sudan)

Crop performance and yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogea), sesame (Sesamum indicum) and roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) were investigated in an intercropping system with Acacia senegal and compared with sole cropping. The study was conducted in North Kordofan (Sudan) on loamy sand. Experimental design was a randomized complete block with split plots.Crop performance and crop yield of groundnut, sesame and roselle were significantly (p 0.05) reduced in the intercropping system compared to sole cropping. However, yield reduction in groundnut (53%) was much higher than in sesame (6%) and roselle (14%). The reduction in yield of the intercropping plots could be due to the high tree density, which results in water and light competition between the trees and the agricultural crops

Analytic Gradients for Complete Active Space Pair-Density Functional Theory

Analytic gradient routines are a desirable feature for quantum mechanical methods, allowing for efficient determination of equilibrium and transition state structures and several other molecular properties. In this work, we present analytical gradients for multiconfiguration pair-density functional theory (MC-PDFT) when used with a state-specific complete active space self-consistent field reference wave function. Our approach constructs a Lagrangian that is variational in all wave function parameters. We find that MC-PDFT locates equilibrium geometries for several small- to medium-sized organic molecules that are similar to those located by complete active space second-order perturbation theory but that are obtained with decreased computational cost

Pengaruh Jumlah Tanaman Per Lubang Terhadap Vigor Benih Tiga Varietas Sorgum (Sorghum Bicolor [L].Moench) Dengan Metode Pengusangan Cepat (MPC)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the number of plants per hole on seed vigor of all sorghum varieties. Experiment is prepared by treatment with randomized block design (RAK) and repeated three times to do to achieve that goal. The first factor is the number of plants per hole that is 1 plant / hole (p1), 2 plants / hole (p2), 3 plants / holes (p3), and 4 plants / hole (p4). The second factor is the variety Numbu (g1), Keller (g2), and Wray (g3). The seed that had been harvested from each of the combination treatments in the test vigornya through germination test method Rolled Paper Test (UKD). Prior to germinate, seeds treated quickly with imbibition pengusangan on rice paper damp ethanol 8%. The results showed that the population of one plant per hole produces seeds with higher vigor than those harvested from other populations. Numbu varieties produce seeds with higher vigor than varieties Keller and Wray especially on untreated seed pengusangan quickly. Population 1 plant per hole produces the best vigor compared with a population of 2, 3 and 4 plants per hole on the three varieties of sorghum seed

Designing Air Intake Ducts for High Speed Flight

    Get PDF
A proven duct flow model is used to examine the influence of the intake duct geometric and inlet flow parameters on the pressure recovery performance of intake ducts for high speed flight. The geometric parameters include: the inlet parallel pipe length, the diffuser cone angle, the length of the faired transition from the pipe to diffuser cone as well as the degree of the fairing. The inlet flow parameters examined are: the boundary layer momentum thickness, the velocity profile shape and the turbulence level. The inlet parameter values used simulate those following a normal shock wave — turbulent boundary layer interaction inside the intake duct, i.e. they simulate the conditions at the inlet to the diffuser of a supersonic intak

Viability of Soybean Seeds (Glycine Max [L.] Merr.) Varieties Argomulyo and Dena-1 Due to the Exposed on Saturated Steam or Stored at Low Temperatures

The viability of the seed will be lower if stored longer, as well as seeds that are given the higher intensity of accelerated aging treatment. Is the decrease in viability of the Argomulyo and Dena-1 varieties of soybean seeds during the 0-6 month storage Stored at Low Temperatures, equivalent to those given the aging intensity accelerated with 40áµ’C saturated water vapor for 0-6 days is the problem studied in this experiment. The viability of soybean seeds was observed with the percentage of normal seedling and germination rates. At the 0-6 months of storage, percentage of normal seedling and germination rates were observed every month, as well as at the accelerated aging 0-6 days were observed every day The results showed that the viability of Argomulyo and Dena-1 seeds decreased similarly during storage periods of 0-6 months, as well as seeds those exposed to the treatment of accelerated aging with intensity of 0-6 days. The viability of Argomulyo and Dena-1 seeds during storage 0-6 months seem higher compared to the seeds those treated with accelerated aging 0-6 days
