The purpose of this study was to get an idea of the effect of the use of assessment instruments in the form of animation to test understanding of the concept of refraction of light. The method used is a quasi-experiment with design posttest only nonequivalent control group design. As a control group used items were in the form of paper and pencil tests. Study was conducted on a class X student of SMA Tanjungpinang in Provinsi Kepulauan Riau of academic year 2013/2014. Samples were selected two classes of seventh grade classes were randomly parallel, as a control group and experiment group. Sum of sample of 85 people with 42 people for a percentage of the control class and 43 people for classroom experiments. Data collected after the experimental class and control class equally get learning the refraction of light. Gain control class test in the form of paper and pencil test which amounts to about 20 numbers, and the experimental class to get the test in the form of the same animation and the number 20, numbers matter. The research instrument used was a questionnaire about the pretest and posttest design. Data analysis was conducted using inferential statistics using SPSS 17.Based on the results the average score of the experimental class 74% with a standard deviation of 14 and an average score of 31% control class with a standard deviation of 12. It can be concluded that the test results of students\u27 understanding of the concept of refraction of light that gets items were significantly different in animated form compared to students who obtain items were in the form of paper and pencil test. Understanding students\u27 test results in sub concepts Snell\u27s law, a concave lens and a convex lens using items were in the form of animation is higher than the students who use the items were in the form of paper and pencil tests. Students agree with the use of items were in the form of animation on comprehension tests concept of refraction of light. Students stated that the items were animated very interesting, a better understanding of the issue in question, to understand the purpose and content of questions, and a description of the problem becomes clearer. The use of items was suggested in the form of animation to be developed on other concepts in physics learning

The purpose of this study was to determine the students perception on the use of animation courseware in math and to reveal how the sample courseware learning mathematical concepts to different change students' views. This research is a case study involving three mathematics students at SMAN 2 Bintan. Data were collected by means of semi-structural interviews. The findings showed that learning by using flash animation is very help students in understanding abstract mathematical significantly. Courseware of mathematics by using flash animation to give you a visualization that links between mathematics and the real world and the interests of understanding mathematical concepts.  Analysis of the data indicated that the conventional learning needs to be done to understand the fundamental and flash animation for learning technology can be used as an aid in the understanding of concepts and to enhance the way students think more effectively.  Courseware  of learning the flash animation has shown a different view to the learning process in the classroom, flash animation is able to analyze the mathematical concepts invent and can provide ideas that connect students with a basic understanding of new knowledge. Purpose – This study aims to identify the factors that influence the willingness of Bangladeshi retail investors to invest in ṣukūk. Design/methodology/approach – The authors surveyed Bangladeshi retail investors using a structured questionnaire to understand their perspectives on potential investment in ṣukūk. The authors considered the behavioral aspects of retail investors and the desired ṣukūk features to analyze the demand side. Factors and regression analyses were performed to identify the persuading factors. Findings – The results indicate that investor awareness is a fundamental factor in potential investments in ṣukūk. Investors perceive the security represented by government and third-party guarantees as a persuasive feature of ṣukūk. The tradability and tenor of ṣukūk also affect the investment intention. Sharīʿah consciousness of the investors also plays a significant role in their investment decisions. Research limitations/implications – One limitation of this study is that it incorporates potential individual investors only, and precludes institutional investors. In the future, there is scope for research to explore the demand factors impacting institutional investors of ṣukūk in Bangladesh. Practical implications – The authors expect that the study will aid policymakers and ṣukūk issuers in crafting strategies to cater to the needs of Bangladeshi retail investors. Originality/value – This study is the earliest research conducted in Bangladesh to determine the factors impacting the willingness of individual investors to make their potential investments in ṣukūk. To the best of the authors' knowledge, no study has analyzed the desired ṣukūk features from the perspective of Bangladeshi retail investors

The purpose of this study is to identify the problems in teaching and learning and the appropriateness of learning method used in dimensi 3 topics in secondary school mathematics. The learning method used was structured inquiry-based learning model animation courseware. The research design used in this study was divided into two phases: the first phase used a case study design and the second phase used a quasi experimental design (non-equivalent control group design). A total of 124 students Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) in Tanjungpinang and Bintan, Kepulauan Riau of Indonesia were samples of this study (62 for the experimental group and 62 for the control group). Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, observation, interviews and mathematics tests (Dimensi 3 topics). The questionnaire was conducted to the experimental group and 6 students were selected for an interviews session after the teaching and learning proses using the animation courseware. Mathematics tests were conducted to both control and experimental groups for comparison. The qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis were the quantitative data were analyzed using statistical descriptive and inferential methods. The findings of the first phase indicate that problems existed after the implementation of the teaching and learning of mathematics using conventional method. Among them are the habit in the students' attitudes about learning mathematics; uninteresting teaching approach that bored students; conventional teaching methods, and difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts. T tests were conducted to identify the difference in mean for both experimental and control groups in the second phase. This study showed an increase in the mean of mathematics test in the experimental group (4.36 for SMA A Bintan and 6.29 for SMA B Tanjung Pinang) compared with the control group. The teaching and learning with animation courseware made learning mathematics more appealing and fun. Therefore this effort needs to be implemented in schools to improve the quality of teaching and learning mathematics in the future

The purpose of this research is to develop instructional media based animations that have been validated, so that the media can be used in Subjects teaching Mathematics Engineering. Data obtained from a questionnaire given to media experts, the expert material, and 31 students of the 2nd half of 2013 class of the questionnaire Analyzed were using the method descriptive qualitative. According to media experts, the media is valid, so that the media can be used in learning, but with revisions. Matter Expert argue that the material is valid, so that this medium can be used. matter experts give advice as an improvement to perfection medium. based on the results test to 31 students who have tried this product, this media has been Invalid but with minor revisions

The purpose this study is implementation a structured inquiry learning model in instruction geometry. The model used is a model with a quasi-experimental study amounted to two classes of samples selected from the population of the ten classes with cluster random sampling technique. Data collection tool consists of a test item questionnaire understanding of geometry and geometric perception of students towards learning using interactive learning technology. Post test data analysis begins with understanding the concept of geometry such analysis prerequisite test for normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogeneity test data using Levene test. Two mean difference test used was Kruskal Wallis k-independent samples of assisted program SPSS version 16. The results showed that students' understanding of the concept of geometry which acquire learning with structured inquiry model is significantly higher than the understanding of the concept of students who received conventional learning. Understanding the concept of geometry students with interactive learning technology is better than the understanding of the concept of students with conventional learning. There is a positive interaction between the applications of structured inquiry learning model by using interactive learning technology for students' understanding of the concept of geometry
