The Role of the Mentor in the First Year of Teaching

    Get PDF
This article explores the effectiveness of mentorship relationships in addressing first year teachers’ challenges at the beginning of their career at one of the Kazakhstani private schools. The study examines the concept of mentoring, the challenges beginning teachers face, the benefits of them, and the experiences of mentorship relationships worldwide and on the territory of Kazakhstan. One-on-one interview has been chosen as the most appropriate research strategy because it helped the researcher to develop a detailed understanding of the mentorship relationship experiences within the mentoring program at school. The results of this study have shown that all participants experience various difficulties in the inaugural period of their career. Even though the existing mentoring programs are the way to enhancement; they have definitely a positive effect on first-year teachers’ professional development

Sustainable supply chains and circular economy practices

openThe world does not stand in one place. We live in a reality where the world is developing at a very high speed. Industrial and technological development has led to significant economic growth. Population growth causes an increase in material consumption. This almost certainly has a negative impact on the environment and society as a whole, such as a lack of natural resources, environmental issues, and natural disasters. Implementing Circular Economy practices and a Sustainable supply chain can significantly decrease the company’s environmental impact. The master thesis aims to demonstrate the Circular Economy and Sustainable supply chain opportunities in Kazakhstan. Apply empirical settings and case study approach by analyzing Kazakhstan and Almaty city as platforms for CE and SSC implementation. Provide theoretical background related to CE and SSC. Moreover, the thesis demonstrates the analysis of Kazakhstani companies, by providing primary quantitative research. Based on quantitative research, the thesis suggests the policy and managerial implications for effective SSC and CE implementation to the Kazakhstani government and companies. The world does not stand in one place. Endonuclease activities of MutLα and its homologs in DNA mismatch repair.

    Get PDF
MutLα is a key component of the DNA mismatch repair system in eukaryotes. The DNA mismatch repair system has several genetic stabilization functions. Of these functions, DNA mismatch repair is the major one. The loss of MutLα abolishes DNA mismatch repair, thereby predisposing humans to cancer. MutLα has an endonuclease activity that is required for DNA mismatch repair. The endonuclease activity of MutLα depends on the DQHA(X)2E(X)4E motif which is a part of the active site of the nuclease. This motif is also present in many bacterial MutL and eukaryotic MutLγ proteins, DNA mismatch repair system factors that are homologous to MutLα. Recent studies have shown that yeast MutLγ and several MutL proteins containing the DQHA(X)2E(X)4E motif possess endonuclease activities. Here, we review the endonuclease activities of MutLα and its homologs in the context of DNA mismatch repair

Features of the photosynthetic activity of millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) in drought conditions

In the Pre-Kama zone of the Republic of Tatarstan, the main limiting factor of the yield of most crops is the drought. One of the ways of solving this problem is the selection of early ripening varieties, able to form seed harvest before the onset of adverse conditions. This paper presents a comparative characteristics of samples of millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) of mid-early and mid-season groups in terms of photosynthetic activity. We revealed the significant differences in area and dry biomass of leaves, photosynthetic potential of the samples of different maturity groups. Significantly lower values of some indicators of photosynthetic activity of mid-season group are due to drought conditions, coinciding with the functioning of assimilation surface. In dry weather conditions, the productivity of the main shoot is highly affected, directly and indirectly, by economic coefficient of the main panicle, the photosynthetic potential of leaves of the plant in general and the photosynthetic potential of the leaves of the lower and middle tiers
