Dysplastic hips pose a significant technical challenge to arthroplasty surgeons. Such deformed hips might be encountered either in congenital and developmental conditions or as sequel of neuromuscular disorders (like poliomyelitis), following infections, or after childhood surgical procedures of the hip. The scientific literature, focussing on total hip arthroplasty (THA), for coxarthrosis in patients with residual poliomyelitis, is relatively rare. Several anatomical distortions seen in dysplastic femurs are described, one of which includes an undersized diaphysis with a stenotic medullary canal. We present a case of a 28 years old male with residual poliomyelitis who underwent a cementless THA for a non united transcervical neck of femur fracture. The patient had an extremely narrow medullary canal which posed a formidable difficulty in the procedure. This was overcome by a novel diaphyseal expansion osteotomy, which enabled the implantation of Wagner Cone prosthesis. This technique, which has hitherto not been described in the literature, can significantly facilitate the implantation of an appropriately sized stem in an undersized femur while at the same time ensuring a good long-term result

The decision which is made to purchase perfume products is a complicated process that consumers have to experience. Different factors affect the consumer choice for perfumes. These factors include social factors, demographic factors and psychological factors. For example, some consumers choose their perfumes depending on the recommendation they get from a family member who used the brand or know someone who is using it. In addition, consumers’ age, income level, personality, self-concept, routine and values may affect their decision in choosing perfume products. This study aims to compare the perfume industry in India and Dubai and at the same time, studies to understand the consumer preference in terms of the factors influencing buying different fragrances. For the study, a total of 150 consumers from each country, thus 300 in all are considered. The survey was conducted in the digital mode and the responses were analyzed using statistical tools. It was seen that the Indian perfume market is overloaded with the consumer demand, however, performance of the perfume industry is better with the Dubai perfume market. The factors of perfume buying have a major impact on ratings of perfume

NiWO4 catalyzed expeditious synthesis of pyranopyrazoles

In this paper, a multicomponent green rapid method for synthesis of pyranopyrazoles is reported using NiWO4 in water in 15 min. Environment friendly features such as energy efficiency, aqueous medium, no hazardous solvent, no chromatography, in addition to the short reaction time, catalyst reusability and substrate tolerance without affecting yield proves the near perfectness of this method for synthesis of medicinally important pyranopyrazoles. NiWO4, ZnWO4 and CuWO4 have been synthesized using extract of plant Phyllantus amarus. The prepared catalysts have been characterized by XRD, EDX and SEM
