    NATIONAL AND CULTURAL REALIAS OF TRANSLATIONS INTO TATAR

    Purposes: This article is devoted to the study of realityн translation, the identification of the main types and difficulties of translation based on the material of literary works translated from Russian into Tatar. Implication/Application: Among the objective difficulties of the works of Russian writer translation into the Tatar language, one can note the mismatch of Russian and Tatar words or phrases expressing realities. It is especially difficult to translate those words and expressions that are close in meaning, but differ in “volume”. Results: The authors show the dependence of translation strategy choice on external sociocultural and pragmatic factors. The study also found out what problems may arise during the transfer of realities in translation, and the main difficulties are highlighted that arise during the translation of realities, in particular, during the absence of an equivalent, correspondence or analogue in the translated language, the need to convey not only the meaning of reality but also its color. Novelty: In our work, the essence of the realities was determined, the main aspects of reality transfer during translation were analyzed, the types of correspondences by a value between the realities, which can be grouped into three main ones, are considered: full, partial correspondence and its absence

    The Revival of Rural Settlements and Cultural Landscape

    The relevance of the topics investigated due to acute socioeconomic problems of extinction of Russian villages. Desertification is in the process of disappearance ten thousand villages, which continues its devastating pace. The article addressed the issue of the revival of Russian villages, construction, and upgrading of rural settlements based on the realization of the Federal program "sustainable development of rural territories in the years 2014-2017 and for the period up to 2020". Revival and construction of rural settlements today mainly involves the development of agricultural holdings on the basis of which will be established equipped agricultural town. Any country associated with a particular way of perceiving not only significant monuments of its culture and architecture but also the types of rural settlements. The village is not a business project; and thelifestyle of a Russian man, a certain way of all cultural, social and economic relations. Currently, the increase of rural settlements and revitalizing rurallife is happening on several fronts: a) building settlements with agro holdings; b) farms; c) creating few ecovillage; d) Renaissance village through the townspeople-truckers as a new phenomenon. Types of rural settlements in Russia are very diverse. They are, first and foremost, thelandscape of the countryside, the direction of agricultural production, ethnic features. In residential areas with recreational and cultural potentials, farms should be promoted and personal subsidiary farms, which will focus on quality and a variety of agricultural products. The revival of villages and rural areas concerned, first and foremost, the provincial small farmsteads landlords "high hand", little knownlocations of handicrafts. It is proposed to simplify thelegislation documents for the category of "noteworthy" in relation to the territories of rural settlements with historical and cultural potential

    Providing insecticide treated bed nets in antiretroviral treatment clinics in Malawi: a pilot study

    HIV infection and malaria, two of the most common and important health problems in sub-Saharan Africa, have been demonstrated to have interactive pathology. In Malawi, where malaria is endemic, and antiretroviral therapy (ART) delivery is scaling up, we piloted integration of long-lasting insecticide-treated bednets (ITN) provision in three ART clinics. In July 2006, 1,910 ITNs were delivered to pilot sites, and ART clinic staff personnel were briefed on ITN provision and use of a monitoring system. Sites were assessed using a structured questionnaire in December 2006. During the pilot period, 1,282 ITNs were distributed to patients. A large proportion (70%) of ART patients at these sites received pilot study ITNs. Site adherence to the monitoring system was variable. Seventeen patients were interviewed, 14 of whom were ART patients who had received ITNs; 11 of these (79%) had slept under the net the previous night. This pilot demonstrates the feasibility of ITN distribution to patients attending ART clinics in Malawi. Programmatic and policy considerations for national roll-out include the need to: 1) adopt a standardized monitoring system, 2) develop information, education, and communication materials, 3) develop in-service training for ART clinicians, and 4) identify systems for forecasting, procuring and distributing ITNs.     hHSS1: a novel secreted factor and suppressor of glioma growth located at chromosome 19q13.33

    The completion of the Human Genome Project resulted in discovery of many unknown novel genes. This feat paved the way for the future development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of human disease based on novel biological functions and pathways. Towards this aim, we undertook a bioinformatics analysis of in-house microarray data derived from purified hematopoietic stem cell populations. This effort led to the discovery of HSS1 (Hematopoietic Signal peptide-containing Secreted 1) and its splice variant HSM1 (Hematopoietic Signal peptide-containing Membrane domain-containing 1). HSS1 gene is evolutionarily conserved across species, phyla and even kingdoms, including mammals, invertebrates and plants. Structural analysis showed no homology between HSS1 and known proteins or known protein domains, indicating that it was a truly novel protein. Interestingly, the human HSS1 (hHSS1) gene is located at chromosome 19q13.33, a genomic region implicated in various cancers, including malignant glioma. Stable expression of hHSS1 in glioma-derived A172 and U87 cell lines greatly reduced their proliferation rates compared to mock-transfected cells. hHSS1 expression significantly affected the malignant phenotype of U87 cells both in vitro and in vivo. Further, preliminary immunohistochemical analysis revealed an increase in hHSS1/HSM1 immunoreactivity in two out of four high-grade astrocytomas (glioblastoma multiforme, WHO IV) as compared to low expression in all four low-grade diffuse astrocytomas (WHO grade II). High-expression of hHSS1 in high-grade gliomas was further supported by microarray data, which indicated that mesenchymal subclass gliomas exclusively up-regulated hHSS1. Our data reveal that HSS1 is a truly novel protein defining a new class of secreted factors, and that it may have an important role in cancer, particularly glioma

    The adoptive transfer of regulatory T-cells (Tregs) is a promising therapeutic approach in transplantation and autoimmunity. However, because large cell numbers are needed to achieve a therapeutic effect, in vitro expansion is required. By comparing their function, phenotype and transcriptomic profile against ex vivo Tregs, we demonstrate that expanded human Tregs switch their metabolism to aerobic glycolysis and show enhanced suppressive function through hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF1A) driven acquisition of CD73 expression. In conjunction with CD39, CD73 expression enables expanded Tregs to convert ATP to immunosuppressive adenosine. We conclude that for maximum therapeutic benefit, Treg expansion protocols should be optimised for CD39/CD73 co-expression

    Annealed Silver-Island Films for Applications in Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence: Interpretation in Terms of Radiating Plasmons

    The effects of thermally annealed silver island films have been studied with regard to their potential applicability in applications of metal-enhanced fluorescence, an emerging tool in nano-biotechnology. Silver island films were thermally annealed between 75 and 250°C for several hours. As a function of both time and annealing temperature, the surface plasmon band at ≈420 nm both diminished and was blue shifted. These changes in plasmon resonance have been characterized using both absorption measurements, as well as topographically using Atomic Force Microscopy. Subsequently, the net changes in plasmon absorption are interpreted as the silver island films becoming spherical and growing in height, as well as an increased spacing between the particles. Interestingly, when the annealed surfaces are coated with a fluorescein-labeled protein, significant enhancements in fluorescence are osbserved, scaling with annealing temperature and time. These observations strongly support our recent hypothesis that the extent of metal-enhanced fluorescence is due to the ability of surface plasmons to radiate coupled fluorophore fluorescence. Given that the extinction spectrum of the silvered films is comprised of both an absorption and scattering component, and that these components are proportional to the diameter cubed and to the sixth power, respectively, then larger structures are expected to have a greater scattering contribution to their extinction spectrum and, therefore, more efficiently radiate coupled fluorophore emission. Subsequently, we have been able to correlate our increases in fluorescence emission with an increased particle size, providing strong experiment evidence for our recently reported metal-enhanced fluorescence, facilitated by radiating plasmons hypothesis
