    Traditions of Worship in Thiruvasagam

    Get PDF
Thiruvasagam, the eighth of the twelve Thirumarais, divinely describes the methods of worship. Saivism is the oldest religion. Tirugnanasambandar, Thirunavukkarasar, Sundarar, and Manickavasagar are the four Saiva religion preceptors (Kuravars). It was because of these four that Saivism flourished. Manickavasagar was the one who worshipped the Lord in the Sanmarga system among these four Saiva saints. The methods of worshipping God, such as Right Conduct, Disciplined Acts, Ethics for the wellbeing of body and soul, and Enlightenment towards Lord Shiva, have also been explained. Through Bhakti Norma, the nature of many stages in the state of compassion, the warmth of love, humanity, compassion, and truthfulness are also explained. Through the path of devotion, the nature of the various stages of compassion, the warmth of love, humanity, kindness, and truthfulness are also explained. Manickavasagar was the root cause of the birth of the Sanmarga system. Next to that, it can be said that it was Vallalar and Bharathiar who took it to the people. It is the highest and most noble religion among the liturgical systems of worship. No one before or after Manickavasagar had the privilege of mingling with the Lord. His interconnection with God is also explained in this article

    Psycho-Historical Perceptions of Gandhi

The literature on leadership has its roots in the “Great Man” Theory of Thomas Carlyle, who declared that “The history of the world is but the biography of great men”. These works which emphasised only political, economic, and social motivations for events, gave way to Erikson‟s, “Gandhi‟s Truth: On the Origins of Militant Nonviolence”, is an attempt at understanding Gandhi through a Psycho-biographical study. Psycho-history analyses the incidents that left a deep impression on Gandhi and examines these experiences that Gandhi used on his techniques such as fasting, Ahimsa and Satyagraha later on. The present paper is a historiographical account of the psycho-historical writings on Gandhi. Erikson‟s seminal work which actually gained for Psychohistory its recognition, forms the major source of this paper and also includes some more recently published works such as Wolpert, Richards and Lelyveld. These narratives have explored the varied facets of his personality and his identity which had blurred between myth and history. Gandhi in most writings is raised to the stature of the Mahatma, but psycho-history has done justice to his character as it brings out the human side of the leader with all his frailties

In this article, the nature of literary principles in Thiruvasagam, the eighth of the Panniru Thirumurai has been highlighted. Moreover, devotional literature is an important milestone in the development of the Tamil language. The principle of devotional literature, along with the principles of divine consciousness, humanity, ethics of attaining God, principles of attaining God, and throughout the Thiruvasagam song, Manickavasagar's devotional principle of compassion, the compassion of love, humanity, compassion, metaphysics, suffering, etc., can be attained by crying, and Manickavasagar's interconnection with God as a culmination of the spiritual journey. Tamil is known to be so intertwined that it can be said to be the language of devotion. Tamil was very helpful in the promotion of religion. That's why literature grows. Religion also developed, and the two great religions, Saivism and Vaishnavism, created separate literature emphasizing their own doctrines and the doctrine of God. Saivism consists of Panniru Thirumuraikal and fourteen shastra books, which are holy shastra texts that propagate its ideology. Manickavasagar's Thiruvasagam and Thirukkovaiyar are praised as the eighth Thirumarai. The famous Thiruvasagam written by Manickavasagar, can be said to be a treasure trove of gracious tears. It can be said that all thiruvasagam songs are a collection of various kinds of literature, such as precious pearls

Switched Reluctance Motors have expanded their field of application in recent years, from a control system stepping motor to high torque e-vehicle applications. High-speed operation and a light-weight driving motor are critical elements for an effective electric vehicle design. SRM's low torque-to-weight ratio and magnetless rotor design make it ideal for use in electric vehicles with less weight and low cost. The only limitation with switched reluctance motors is torque ripple and vibrations. There have been a variety of techniques to reducing torque pulsations in the SRM, by which vibration and noise can be reduced. In this paper, an optimization technique is used in switching controllers in and a comparison is done between a sliding mode controller (SMC) with a modified reaching law and by using  Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC). By using matlab Simulink the magnitude of torque ripple is simulated and compared for 8/6 pole  SRM. The results shows that the torque ripple is reduced in fuzzy compared to SMC  significantly

Objective: To investigate the neuroprotective effect of sesamol against rotenone-induced cell death in SH-SY5Y cells associated with Parkinsonism. Methods: SH-SY5Y cells were maintained in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium. After differentiation, the cells were incubated with rotenone (20 μM) and sesamol at different concentrations (10-100 μM). Cell viability was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide assay. The reactive oxygen species, mitochondrial membrane potential and nuclear morphology were determined by dichlorofluorescein diacetate, rhodamine 123 and 4', 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole, respectively. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances, activities of catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase and glutathione level were determined by standard assays. Results: Sesamol significantly increased the cell viability and decreased the rotenone-induced cell death in SH-SY5Y cells. Sesamol antagonized rotenone-induced reactive oxygen species generation, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential and nuclear damage. Sesamol also decreased thiobarbituric acid reactive substances level, increased the activities of catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and increased the level of glutathione in rotenone-induced cells. Conclusion: The results obtained strongly indicate the promising neuroprotective role of sesamol against rotenone-induced death in SH-SY5Y cells

Blockchain is one of the decentralized processes in a worldview that works with parallel and distributed ledger technology, the application process, and service-oriented design. To propose a Secure data Transaction based on Hash coded Starvation Blockchain security using Padded Ring signature-ECC for Network of Things. Initially, the crypto policy is authenticated based on the user-owner shared resource policy and access rights. This creates a Public blockchain environment with a P2P Blockchain network. The owner encrypts the data using optimized ECC through Hash-coded Starvation Blockchain security (HCSBS). This makes the encrypted block's provable partition chain Link (P2CL). The encrypted blocks are transmitted into the network of nodes monitored by NoT. During the data transmission, the Network of Things monitors the transaction flow to verify the authenticity over the network of nodes. The monitored data be securely stored in transaction Block storage with the hash-indexed block with chain ring policy (HICLP). This creates controller node aggregation over the transaction environment to securely transfer the data to the peer end. The User gets the access Key to decrypt the data with policy aggregated shared resource policy to access the data. The proposed system produces high security as well compared to the previous design

The use of high power density laser beam for surface modification of many important alloys often leads to appreciable changes in the composition & tribological properties. These changes are dependent on process variables such as beam size, energy, scan rate, laser mode and the Chemistry and metallurgy of steel. Appro-ximate solutions to heat flow equations are combined with kinetic models to predict the microstructures and temperature distributions. A transient fuzzy logic based heat flow model is developed to predict temperature zones instead of discrete temperature calculations. A set of separate membership functions are formulated for dete-rmining temperature zones by means of continuous iteration process the same method is adopted to evaluate micro-structures for a specific temperature zone by incorporat-ing the kinetic and thermal datas available. Alloy steel of CK45 grade and stainless steel of 316 grade are used for this investigations and the results obtained are compared with the temperature profiles obtained from conventional methods and hence their microstructures. An attempt is also made to compute the dendrite cell width distribution during laser melt solidification of 316 LN steel by means of the above mentioned method

    Get PDF
Electro-active elemental sulphur dissolved in hydrazine hydrate solvent was studied by d.c. polarography, cyclic voltammetry and millicoulometry in sodium acetate, ammonium tartrate and sodium phosphate buffers in an aqueous medium. The method, which uses a mercury electrode, is highly sensitive with less interference than other polarographic methods. The method was extended to the determination of sulphur in pressure rubber tubing. This paper also suggests a mechanism of electrode reaction

Plant Products as Biopesticides: Building On Traditional Knowledge of Vrkshayurveda: Traditional Indian Plant Science

    Get PDF
Today there is a global search for alternatives to chemical pesticides and as part of this process there are various efforts to test the use and efficacy of natural products for pest control and crop protection. Our Centre has been involved in exploring the traditional knowledge regarding the use of natural products for pest control and crop protection. As part of this effort, we have looked at the traditional folk practices prevalent among farmers as well as information from classical literature on the subject drawn from Vrkshayurveda (traditional Indian plant science). Following this, we have carried out experiments for standardizing and field testing promising natural products by determining the precise range and kind of pests controlled by them, determining the optimum concentration where they can be effective against pests without being harmful to useful organisms and predators as well as studying their mode of action. Subsequently, we have also developed storage forms of various of these products by using methods based on Ayurveda. Studies on the stability and shelf life of these products are also being carried out through an insect rearing laboratory. Finally, we have also set up village based biopesticides units where a range of these products are being prepared thus providing valuable inputs to sustainable agriculture and a means of livelihood to rural women and farmers
