Discovery Prospects for NMSSM Higgs Bosons at the High-Energy Large Hadron Collider
We investigate the discovery prospects for NMSSM Higgs bosons during the
13~TeV run of the LHC. While one of the neutral Higgs bosons is demanded to
have a mass around 125~GeV and Standard Model (SM)-like properties, there can
be substantially lighter, nearby or heavier Higgs bosons, that have not been
excluded yet by LEP, Tevatron or the 8~TeV run of the LHC. The challenge
consists in discovering the whole NMSSM Higgs mass spectrum. We present the
rates for production and subsequent decay of the neutral NMSSM Higgs bosons in
the most promising final states and discuss their possible discovery. The
prospects for pinning down the Higgs sector of the Natural NMSSM will be
analysed taking into account alternative search channels. We give a series of
benchmark scenarios compatible with the experimental constraints, that feature
Higgs-to-Higgs decays and entail (exotic) signatures with multi-fermion and/or
multi-photon final states. These decay chains furthermore give access to the
trilinear Higgs self-couplings. We briefly discuss the possibility of
exploiting coupling sum rules in case not all the NMSSM Higgs bosons are
discovered
Talon cusp affecting primary dentition in two siblings: a case report
The term talon cusp refers to a rare developmental dental anomaly characterized by a cusp-like structure projecting from the cingulum area or cement-enamel junction. This condition can occur in the maxillary and mandibular arches of the primary and permanent dentitions. The purpose of this paper is to report on the presence of talon cusps in the primary dentition of two southern Chinese siblings. The 4 years and 2 months old girl had a talon cusp on her maxillary right primary central incisor, while her 2 years and 9 months old brother had bilateral talon cusps on the maxillary primary central incisors. The presence of this rare dental anomaly in two siblings has scarcely been reported in the literature and this may provide further evidence of a hereditary etiology.Article Link:

Evidence for a planetary mass third body orbiting the binary star KIC 5095269
In this paper, we report the evidence for a planetary mass body orbiting the
close binary star KIC 5095269. This detection arose from a search for eclipse
timing variations among the more than 2,000 eclipsing binaries observed by
Kepler. Light curve and periodic eclipse time variations have been analysed
using Systemic and a custom Binary Eclipse Timings code based on the Transit
Analysis Package which indicates a object orbiting every
around a primary and secondary in an
18.6d orbit. A dynamical integration over years suggests a stable
orbital configuration. Radial velocity observations are recommended to confirm
the properties of the binary star components and the planetary mass of the

Tough economic conditions mean in order to survive manufacturers must adapt and respond to competitive pressures by innovating to remain productive and prosperous. This paper provides an overview of the drivers, enablers and an example for each innovation response. This clearly demonstrates the link between innovation and sustainable manufacturing and how innovation can provide a competitive advantage
Proof of Luck: an Efficient Blockchain Consensus Protocol
In the paper, we present designs for multiple blockchain consensus primitives
and a novel blockchain system, all based on the use of trusted execution
environments (TEEs), such as Intel SGX-enabled CPUs. First, we show how using
TEEs for existing proof of work schemes can make mining equitably distributed
by preventing the use of ASICs. Next, we extend the design with proof of time
and proof of ownership consensus primitives to make mining energy- and
time-efficient. Further improving on these designs, we present a blockchain
using a proof of luck consensus protocol. Our proof of luck blockchain uses a
TEE platform's random number generation to choose a consensus leader, which
offers low-latency transaction validation, deterministic confirmation time,
negligible energy consumption, and equitably distributed mining. Lastly, we
discuss a potential protection against up to a constant number of compromised

Bimaximal Mixings from the Texture of the Right-handed Majorana Neutrino Mass Matrix
We study the origin of neutrino masses and mixing angles which can accomodate
the LMA MSW solutions of the solar neutrino anomaly as well as the solution of
the atmospheric neutrino problem, within the framework of the see-saw
mechanism. We employ the diagonal form of the Dirac neutrino mass matrices with
the physical masses as diagonal elements in the hierarchical order. Such choice
has been motivated from the fact that the known CKM angles for the quark
sector, are relatively small. We consider both possibilities where the Dirac
neutrino mass matrix is either the charged lepton or the up-quark mass matrix
within the framework of SO(10) GUT with or without supersymmetry. The non-zero
texture of the right-handed Majorana neutrino mass matrix is used for
the generation of the desired bimaximal mixings in a model independent way.
Both hierarchical and inverted hierarchical models of the left-handed Majorana
neutrino mass matrices are generated and then discussed with examples
Notes on multiplicativity of maximal output purity for completely positive qubit maps
A problem in quantum information theory that has received considerable
attention in recent years is the question of multiplicativity of the so-called
maximal output purity (MOP) of a quantum channel. This quantity is defined as
the maximum value of the purity one can get at the output of a channel by
varying over all physical input states, when purity is measured by the Schatten
-norm, and is denoted by . The multiplicativity problem is the
question whether two channels used in parallel have a combined that is
the product of the of the two channels. A positive answer would imply a
number of other additivity results in QIT.
Very recently, P. Hayden has found counterexamples for every value of .
Nevertheless, these counterexamples require that the dimension of these
channels increases with and therefore do not rule out multiplicativity
for in intervals with depending on the channel dimension. I
argue that this would be enough to prove additivity of entanglement of
formation and of the classical capacity of quantum channels.
More importantly, no counterexamples have as yet been found in the important
special case where one of the channels is a qubit-channel, i.e. its input
states are 2-dimensional. In this paper I focus attention to this qubit case
and I rephrase the multiplicativity conjecture in the language of block

To estimate the prevalence of oral detectable human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA in HIV-negative men who have sex with men (MSM) attending a sexual health clinic in London and concordance with anogenital HPV infection. Such data are important to improve our understanding of the epidemiology of oral HPV and the potential use of vaccines to prevent oropharyngeal cancers
Trimaximal neutrino mixing from vacuum alignment in A4 and S4 models
Recent T2K results indicate a sizeable reactor angle theta_13 which would
rule out exact tri-bimaximal lepton mixing. We study the vacuum alignment of
the Altarelli-Feruglio A4 family symmetry model including additional flavons in
the 1' and 1" representations and show that it leads to trimaximal mixing in
which the second column of the lepton mixing matrix consists of the column
vector (1,1,1)^T/sqrt{3}, with a potentially large reactor angle. In order to
limit the reactor angle and control the higher order corrections, we propose a
renormalisable S4 model in which the 1' and 1" flavons of A4 are unified into a
doublet of S4 which is spontaneously broken to A4 by a flavon which enters the
neutrino sector at higher order. We study the vacuum alignment in the S4 model
and show that it predicts accurate trimaximal mixing with approximate
tri-bimaximal mixing, leading to a new mixing sum rule testable in future
neutrino experiments. Both A4 and S4 models preserve form dominance and hence
