Talon cusp affecting primary dentition in two siblings: a case report
The term talon cusp refers to a rare developmental dental anomaly characterized by a cusp-like structure projecting from the cingulum area or cement-enamel junction. This condition can occur in the maxillary and mandibular arches of the primary and permanent dentitions. The purpose of this paper is to report on the presence of talon cusps in the primary dentition of two southern Chinese siblings. The 4 years and 2 months old girl had a talon cusp on her maxillary right primary central incisor, while her 2 years and 9 months old brother had bilateral talon cusps on the maxillary primary central incisors. The presence of this rare dental anomaly in two siblings has scarcely been reported in the literature and this may provide further evidence of a hereditary etiology.Article Link:

Role of the community matron in advance care planning and âdo not attempt CPRâ decision-making: a qualitative study
The community matron (CM) is often the key worker caring for patients with chronic, life-limiting, long-term conditions, but these patients are not always recognised as palliative cases. This study explored the experiences of CMs with regard to advance care planning (ACP) and âdo not attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitationâ (DNACPR) decision-making to understand whether or not they felt adequately prepared for this aspect of their role, and why. Qualitative data were generated from six CMs using a broad interpretive phenomenological approach. Face-to-face recorded interviews were analysed using template analysis. The study found that although participants faced complex ethical situations around ACP and DNACPR almost on a daily basis, none had received any formal training despite the emphasis on training in national and local guidelines. Participants often struggled to get their patients accepted on to the Gold Standards Framework. The research found variability and complexity of cases to be the main barriers to clear identification of the palliative phase

Social costs associated with the design, demonstration, and implementation of the Modular Integrated Utility System are considered including the social climate of communities, leadership patterns, conflicts and cleavages, specific developmental values, MIUS utility goal assessment, and the suitability of certian alternative options for use in a program of implementation. General considerations are discussed in the field of socio-technological planning. These include guidelines for understanding the conflict and diversity; some relevant goal choices and ideas useful to planners of the MIUS facility
Bimaximal Mixings from the Texture of the Right-handed Majorana Neutrino Mass Matrix
We study the origin of neutrino masses and mixing angles which can accomodate
the LMA MSW solutions of the solar neutrino anomaly as well as the solution of
the atmospheric neutrino problem, within the framework of the see-saw
mechanism. We employ the diagonal form of the Dirac neutrino mass matrices with
the physical masses as diagonal elements in the hierarchical order. Such choice
has been motivated from the fact that the known CKM angles for the quark
sector, are relatively small. We consider both possibilities where the Dirac
neutrino mass matrix is either the charged lepton or the up-quark mass matrix
within the framework of SO(10) GUT with or without supersymmetry. The non-zero
texture of the right-handed Majorana neutrino mass matrix is used for
the generation of the desired bimaximal mixings in a model independent way.
Both hierarchical and inverted hierarchical models of the left-handed Majorana
neutrino mass matrices are generated and then discussed with examples

On closed rotating worlds
A new solution for the stationary closed world with rigid rotation is
obtained for the spinning fluid source. It is found that the spin and vorticity
are locally balanced. This model qualitatively shows that the local rotation of
the cosmological matter can be indeed related to the global cosmic vorticity,

Cooling of cryogenic electron bilayers via the Coulomb interaction
Heat dissipation in current-carrying cryogenic nanostructures is problematic
because the phonon density of states decreases strongly as energy decreases. We
show that the Coulomb interaction can prove a valuable resource for carrier
cooling via coupling to a nearby, cold electron reservoir. Specifically, we
consider the geometry of an electron bilayer in a silicon-based
heterostructure, and analyze the power transfer. We show that across a range of
temperatures, separations, and sheet densities, the electron-electron
interaction dominates the phonon heat-dissipation modes as the main cooling
mechanism. Coulomb cooling is most effective at low densities, when phonon
cooling is least effective in silicon, making it especially relevant for
experiments attempting to perform coherent manipulations of single spins.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figure
Trimaximal neutrino mixing from vacuum alignment in A4 and S4 models
Recent T2K results indicate a sizeable reactor angle theta_13 which would
rule out exact tri-bimaximal lepton mixing. We study the vacuum alignment of
the Altarelli-Feruglio A4 family symmetry model including additional flavons in
the 1' and 1" representations and show that it leads to trimaximal mixing in
which the second column of the lepton mixing matrix consists of the column
vector (1,1,1)^T/sqrt{3}, with a potentially large reactor angle. In order to
limit the reactor angle and control the higher order corrections, we propose a
renormalisable S4 model in which the 1' and 1" flavons of A4 are unified into a
doublet of S4 which is spontaneously broken to A4 by a flavon which enters the
neutrino sector at higher order. We study the vacuum alignment in the S4 model
and show that it predicts accurate trimaximal mixing with approximate
tri-bimaximal mixing, leading to a new mixing sum rule testable in future
neutrino experiments. Both A4 and S4 models preserve form dominance and hence
predict zero leptogenesis, up to renormalisation group corrections.Comment: 24 pages, 2 figures, version to be published in JHE
