    Evaluation and diversity analysis in Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss.] germplasm accessions on the basis of principal component analysis

    Principal component analysis was carried out with 20 morphological traits (including quantitative as well as qualitative) among 96 germplasm lines of Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss.]. Principal factor analysis led to the identification of eight principal components (PCs) which explained about 70.41% variability. The first principal component (PC1) explained 16.21% of the total variation. The remaining PC’s explained progressively lesser and lesser of the total variation. Varimax Rotation enabled loading of similar type of variables on a common principal factor (PF) permitting to designate them as yield factor, maturity factor and oil factor etc. Based on PF scores and cluster mean values the germplasm accessions viz., RC2, RC32 and RC51 (cluster I), RC95 and RC96 (cluster X) were found superior for seed yield/plant and yield related factors like primary and secondary branches/plant; while the accessions RC34, RC185 and RC195 (cluster III) and RC53 (cluster VIII) were found superior for oil content. These accessions may further be utilized in breeding programmes for evolving mustard varieties having high seed yield and oil content. Hierarchical cluster analysis resulted into ten clusters containing two to 26 accessions. The results of cluster and principal factor analyses were in confirmation of each other

    In this paper I am going to explain about IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee) wireless network. IEEE 802.15.4 is a standard which specifies the physical layer and media access control for low-rate wireless personal area networks (LR-WPANs). It is maintained by the IEEE 802.15 working group, which defined it in 2003. It is the basis for the ZigBee, ISA100.11a, WirelessHART, MiWi, and Thread specifications, each of which further extends the standard by developing the upper layers which are not defined in IEEE 802.15.4.The fundamental system considers a 10-meter correspondences extend with an exchange rate of 250 kbit/s. Tradeoffs are conceivable to support all the more drastically implanted gadgets with even lower control necessities, through the meaning of not one, but rather a few physical layers. As some local interference appears, the part of the network which is under the interference can move to a new idle channel while maintaining the communication links with the other part of the network which stays on the original channel and the moved part can move back to the original channel when the interference disappears

    Using the latest data pertaining to \bar u-\bar d asymmetry and the spin polarization functions, detailed implications of the possible values of the coupling strength of the singlet Goldstone boson \eta' have been investigated in the \chiCQM with configuration mixing. Using \Delta u, \Delta_3, \bar u-\bar d and \bar u/\bar d, the possible ranges of the coupling parameters a, \alpha^ 2, \beta^ 2 and \zeta^ 2, representing respectively the probabilities of fluctuations to pions, K, \eta and \eta^{'}, are shown to be 0.10 \lesssim a \lesssim 0.14, 0.2\lesssim \alpha \lesssim 0.5, 0.2\lesssim \beta \lesssim 0.7 and 0.10 lesssim |\zeta| \lesssim 0.70. To constrain the coupling strength of \eta', detailed fits have been obtained for spin polarization functions, quark distribution functions and baryon octet magnetic moments corresponding to the following sets of parameters: a=0.1, \alpha=0.4, \beta=0.7, |\zeta|=0.65 (Case I); a=0.1, \alpha=0.4, \beta=0.6, |\zeta|=0.70 (Case II); a=0.14, \alpha=0.4, \beta=0.2, \zeta=0 (Case III) and a=0.13, \alpha=\beta=0.45, |\zeta|=0.10 (Case IV). Case I represents the calculations where a is fixed to be 0.1, in accordance with earlier calculations, whereas other parameters are treated free and the Case IV represents our best fit. The fits clearly establish that a small non-zero value of the coupling of \eta' is preferred over the higher values of \eta' as well as when \zeta=0, the latter implying the absence of \eta' from the dynamics of \chiCQM. Our best fit achieves an overall excellent fit to the data, in particular the fit for \Delta u, \Delta d, \Delta_8 as well as the magnetic moments \mu_{n}, \mu_{\Sigma^-}, \mu_{\Sigma^+} and \mu_{\Xi^-} is almost perfect, the \mu_{\Xi^-} being a difficult case for most of the similar calculations.Comment: 8 RevTeX pages, 2 Tables, Revised version to appear in Int.J.Mod.Phys

    In case of blast loading on structures, analysis is carried out in two stages, first the blast loading on a particular structure is determined and second, an evaluation is made for the response of the structure to this loading. In this paper, a review of the first part is presented which includes various empirical relations available for computation of blast load in the form of pressure-time function resulting from the explosion in the air. Different empirical techniques available in the form of charts and equations are reviewed first and then the various blast wave parameters are computed using these equations. This paper is providing various blast computation equations, charts, and references in a concise form at a single place and to serve as base for researchers and designers to understand, compare, and then compute the blast wave parameters.     In Vitro Doubled Haploid Production of Bacterial Blight Resistant Plants from BC2F1 Plants (Ranbir Basmati X Pau148) Through Anther Culture

    Doubled haploid plants are very important for the development of complete homozygous plants from heterozygous parents in one generation as they possess duplicate copy of haploid chromosome. Haploid production is easily obtained from in vitro anther culture. The present study was undertaken with the objective to develop doubled haploids using anthers for in vitro induction of callus on N6 medium supplemented with various combinations and concentrations of 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D) (0.5-2.5 mg/L), Kinetin (0.5-1.0 mg/L) and Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) (2.0 mg/L) as callus induction medium (CIM). The highest callus induction frequency was obtained when N6 medium fortified with 2,4-D (2.5 mg/L), Kinetin (0.5 mg/L) and NAA (2 mg/L) of 10.07 per cent. The induced callus was sub cultured for shoot regeneration on Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) supplemented with growth regulators: Kinetin and NAA (0.5 mg/L each) in combination with BAP (0.0 - 2.5 mg/L). MS medium supplemented with NAA (0.5 mg/L), Kinetin (0.5 mg/L) and BAP (1.5 mg/L) was most responsive exhibiting regeneration frequency of 28.1 per cent which resulted in maximum regeneration of green plantlets and only 5.21 per cent of albinos. Individual plantlets were separated and immersed in liquid MS medium augmented with NAA (0.5-1.0 mg/L) and BAP (0.5-1.0 mg/L). Maximum rooting was observed in MS medium with NAA (0.5 mg/L) and BAP (1.0 mg/L). The survival rate of in-vitro raised plants was 51.51 per cent. Of these surviving plants, 21 plants were observed to have the sterility percentage above 50 percent and hence can be considered as the doubled haploid plants.     Studies on Genetic Divergence in Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) Using SRAP Markers

    Pomegranate genotypes have been characterized mainly on the basis of morphological traits; but, these traits are affected to a large extent by environmental and cultivation conditions, resulting in their ambiguous discrimination. Molecular markers are more suited for accurate discrimination of genotypes and cultivars. Sequence-Related Amplified Polymorphism (SRAP) markers were used in the present study to analyze polymorphism among the important pomegranate genotypes grown in India. The total number of bands generated by 30 SRAP primers for 12 genotypes was 1448, with an average of 48.3 bands per primer. Polymorphism varied from 2.7 to 73.9, with an average of 40.95%. Similarity-value based on Jaccard's Coefficient ranged from 0.63 (between cvs. Naina and Amlidana) to 0.95 (between cvs. Kabul Yellow and Jalore Seedless). UPGMA (un-weighted pair group method with arithmetic mean) analysis was performed and a dendrogram was constructed using Jaccard's similarity matrix. The 12 genotypes used grouped into 5 clusters. SRAP markers were found suitable for determining variability among the pomegranate genotypes studied
