Comparison of changes in sugar contents in the cotyledons of radish and lablab
Seed germination is one of the most important phases in the life cycle of plants. Starch is the major stored reserve in both Radish and Lablab cotyledons. Most of such work is done in cereal grains might be due to advantages inherent with cereals which ensure easy manipulation of the system. However the work done so far with facts does open up some interesting possibilities of regulation of stored resources. The sugar level decreases to 29% from 96 to 120 hrs after imbibitions in case of Radish. In case of Lablab The sugar level decreases to 60% from 72 to 96 hrs after imbibitions. The decrement still continues from 96 to 120 hrs and the value is about 24%
Hand Gesture Recognition Using Different Algorithms Based on Artificial Neural Network
Gesture is one of the most natural and expressive ways of communications between human and computer in a real system. We naturally use various gestures to express our own intentions in everyday life. Hand gesture is one of the important methods of non-verbal communication for human beings. Hand gesture recognition based man-machine interface is being developed vigorously in recent years. This paper gives an overview of different methods for recognizing the hand gestures using MATLAB. It also gives the working details of recognition process using Edge detection and Skin detection algorithms
A Study of the Awareness of Wearable Medical Devices in India: A Potential Market Perspective
A Medical Wearable Device provides vital sign monitoring. Therefore, it involves monitoring of one or more of the following or any other physiological vital that has application in fitness monitoring and medical diagnostic such as; blood glucose level; blood pressure; pulse rate; electrocardiograph (ECG) patterns; respiration rate; respiration effectiveness (e.g., blood oxygen saturation). Hence the Medical Wearable Devices are extremely useful precautionary gadgets. A number of such devices are available in market these days. Despite of their usefulness they are not very popular in India. This may be due to low level of awareness. As Metropolitan cities is primary market for such gadgets. This paper focuses on the awareness level of the medical wearable devices in Delhi-NCR and studies awareness with respect to suitable demographics. Further, this paper identifies the key parameters in role of the education, qualification and purchase power parity for adoption of this device. The insights drawn from the vast health literature helps to develop the behavioral conceptual framework which becomes the basis to gather the primary data
Analysis of the New Six Monthly Distribution Strategy for Food Grains: A Study of Public Distribution System of Indian Punjab
The audience will get an insight into the value stream of PDS for food grains in Indian Punjab, the key stakeholders of the system, and the impact of the new policy on these stakeholders. Furthermore the factors affecting the adoption of the new policy among the beneficiaries will be discussed
Enhancing Video Deblurring using Efficient Fourier Aggregation
Video Deblurring is a process of removing blur from all the video frames and achieving the required level of smoothness. Numerous recent approaches attempt to remove image blur due to camera shake, either with one or multiple input images, by explicitly solving an inverse and inherently ill-posed deconvolution problem. An efficient video deblurring system to handle the blurs due to shaky camera and complex motion blurs due to moving objects has been proposed. The proposed algorithm is strikingly simple: it performs a weighted average in the Fourier domain, with weights depending on the Fourier spectrum magnitude. The method can be seen as a generalization of the align and average procedure, with a weighted average, motivated by hand-shake physiology and theoretically supported, taking place in the Fourier domain. The methods rationale is that camera shake has a random nature, and therefore, each image in the burst is generally blurred differently. The proposed system has effectively deblurred the video and results showed that the reconstructed video is sharper and less noisy than the original ones. The proposed Fourier Burst Accumulation algorithm produced similar or better results than the state-of-the-art multi-image deconvolution while being significantly faster and with lower memory footprint. The method is robust to moving objects as it acquired the consistent registration scheme
Comparison of changes in starch contents in the cotyledons of Radish and Lablab
The major storage materials of the seeds are carbohydrates, mostly starch, protein and lipids. There occurs a great difference among the seeds in their reserve composition. Starch is the major stored reserve in both Radish and Lablab cotyledons. Most of such work is done in cereal grains might be due to advantages inherent with cereals which ensure easy manipulation of the system. However the work done so far with facts does open up some interesting possibilities of regulation of stored resources. Since the sugar level is low in the quiescent seeds in the phase of radical emergence between 24 to 48 hrs the starch degradation is negligible. The rate of degradation is found to be 24% and 22% for Radish and Lablab respectively
Sustainability Practices as a Competitive Edge in Five Star Hotels of Delhi: a Study on Manager's Perception
The study aims to conduct an analysis describing the sustainable strategy available for hotels, evaluating its potential to create competitive advantage and exploring how its implementation influences other actors in the industry specifically and the whole area development generally. For the purpose of this study, Delhi has been chosen with a focus on the Five Star and Five-star Deluxe Hotels of the city. A survey was conducted with the employees working in 15 Five stars and Five-star Deluxe Hotels in Delhi. According to the analysis, the sustainable efforts of the hotel include environmental, social and economic initiatives. The results of the survey highlighted the sustainability practices that are being adopted and the extent of their implementation by these hotels. It also showed the relationship between a hotel's sustainability practices and employees' satisfaction
Postpartum intrauterine contraceptive device: knowledge and factors affecting acceptance among postpartum women at tertiary care hospital in North-Western Rajasthan
Background: Intra-uterine contraceptive device (IUCD) insertion recommended within 10 min of placental delivery or within 48 hours of delivery is called postpartum IUCD according to WHO. Aim of the study was to evaluate the factors affecting knowledge and the likely acceptance of the postpartum intrauterine contraceptive device (PPIUCD).Methods: The present descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at S. P. Medical College and associated group of hospitals, Bikaner, Rajasthan, India from May 2020 to July 2020. Total 500 post-partum women were studied with the help of predesigned and pretested questionnaire. Knowledge of the women was summarized as proportion. Chi-square test was used to compare proportions and univariate analysis for the factors affecting knowledge and likely adoption of PPIUCD.Results: The 210 (42%) women out of 500 women had knowledge regarding PPIUCD. Multiparity (p=0.003), education above secondary level {OR=11.66 (95% CI=7.13-19.06), p=0.00}, upper middle and middle socioeconomic status {OR=6.77 (95% CI=4.44-10.16), p=0.00} and health worker counselling {OR=13.61(95% CI=8.78-21.10), p=0.00} were significantly associated with knowledge. Multiparous women (p=0.004), women who had discussed PPIUCD with their husband (p<0.0001), women with family support for their decision (p<0.00001), women without religious beliefs (p<0.0001) were more significantly associated with adoption of PPIUCD.Conclusions: The level of knowledge of our study population regarding PPIUCD is 42%. Our study has reported education and regular health care worker counselling as most important modifiable predictors to improve the knowledge regarding PPIUCD
