(3) Informants who do not depend on their parents—older than 20 years old, and have professional jobs—tend to rely more on mass media for seeking religious information more than their peer group or parents. Therefore, they tend to agree with Muslimah coverage which emphasized more on modern Moslem youth lifestyle than on its syariah (religious values)

The chemical composition variations of the Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) from Karachi coast were investigated seasonally over the period of one year (2004-2005). Moisture, crude protein, fat and ash contents varied from 70.11-74.41%, 16.02- 20.09%, 3.0-12%, and 0.89-1.35% respectively. The seasonal data indicated that the main fatty acids of the total lipid were C16:0, C16:1, C18:0, C18:1, C20:5 and C22:6. Total contents of saturated fatty acid (SFA), monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) percentages varied from 31.6-46.85%, 20.5-27.9%, and 26.8-40.85% respectively. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, C20: 5n-3) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C22: 6n-3) of omega 3 series which have specific importance in nutritional values concept, were the major fatty acids. The lowest EPA and DHA were found to be in July and highest in November to March

It is a mass marketing technique which persuades the consumers to buy the product which is being advertised. The writer use Whiskas's Big Cat Little Cat Edition printed advertisement to analyze. There are two problems of the study namely (1) What kinds of semiotic signs are used on Whiskas's Big Cat Little Edition Printed Advertisement; (2) What is the meaning of each sign used on Whiskas's Big Cat Little Edition Printed Advertisement. In this study, a qualitative approach by document analysis is applied to analyze and identify the signs, find out the meaning of the sign and the relation between the slogan and the sign found in Whiskas's Big Cat Little Cat Edition Printed Advertisement. The writer uses Peirce's typology on sign in analyzing the dataBased on the result, the writer found that there are signs total by 69 signs consisting of 32 icons, 27 indexes and 10 symbols found in the advertisements based on Peirce's typology of sign theory. Based on the study that has been conducted towards the printed advertisement of Whiskas's, the iconic signs were mostly used. Each sign has the role to strengthen and support the idea of the advertisement. The logo of Whiskas and the slogan “feeding your cat's insctinct” appears in almost all of the advertisement. They become the controller of the advertisement's idea. The researcher suggests Faculty of Cultural Studies to provide more books about semiotic both in English and Bahasa Indonesia since there are only a few books available in the library. The next writers are also suggested to find out other research's object such as billboard advertisement, TV advertisement, internetadvertisement, movie posters, political cartoons and so on to gain a better understanding in Semiotic

Technology-based learning needs to be done immediately in order to carry out more interested in learning and fostering student motivation. Furthermore, learning should be done byeach student characteristics. One of which is multiple intelligences based learning. Through the application of multiple intelligence assisted technology based learning, it is expected that the learning objectives will be more easily achieved by students. Interactive module based on multiple intelligences that has been validated was the product of this research and developmental experiment. This research was limited to the Changes of Genetic Material taught at the Genetics Course at IKIP Budi Utomo Malang. Research and development model was carried out by 4D model from Thiagarajan. This research phase includes define, design, design, and disseminate stages. The research data is obtained from the module validation score, both from material experts, media experts, and practitioners (students). The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of the validation of media experts, material experts and small-scale trials, it is known that the percentage results are above 85%, so the product is declared valid. Furthermore, it is necessary to test the classical scale to find out its effectiveness in learning

Modeling Stock Return Data using Asymmetric Volatility Models: A Performance Comparison based on the Akaike Information Criterion and Schwarz Criterion

The Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) model has been widely used in time series forecasting especially with asymmetric volatility data. As the generalization of autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity model, GARCH is known to be more flexible to lag structures. Some enhancements of GARCH models were introduced in literatures, among themare Exponential GARCH (EGARCH), Threshold GARCH (TGARCH) and Asymmetric Power GARCH (APGARCH) models. This paper aims to compare the performance of the three enhancements of the asymmetric volatility models by means of applying the three models to estimate real daily stock return volatility data. The presence of leverage effects in empirical series is investigated. Based on the value of Akaike information and Schwarz criterions, the result showed that the best forecasting model for our daily stock return data is the APARCH mode
