Milking machines are an important element of the livestock sector, which is one of the main activities of the countries. Milking machines have become a part of the life of livestock keepers. Such equipment can be considered as applications of mechanical engineering on the livestock sector. Especially livestock enterprises are going through a difficult process in supplying such machines with optimum features and maximum benefit. In terms of productivity, competitiveness and sustainability of livestock sector enterprises, decision-making processes should be scientific. With this perspective, in this study, the problem of determining the optimum milking machine was evaluated with Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. In the study, six different milking machines were analyzed with two different MCDM methods according to eight criteria. In this frame, the criterion weights of the related decision problem were calculated by the MACBETH method. Moreover, MACBETH and Gray Relational Analysis (GIA) methods were used separately to determine the most suitable milking machine. Furthermore, rankings obtained+- by different methods were tested with Spearman Rank Correlation Analysis and the result was found to be highly positive. The results of the study were shared with the decision makers. Besides, academic, and sectoral suggestions were made for future studies on similar topics

Early diagnosis of intracranial hemorrhage significantly reduces mortality. Hemorrhage is diagnosed by using various imaging methods and the most time-efficient one among them is computed tomography (CT). However, it is clear that accurate CT scans requires time, diligence, and experience. Computer-aided design methods are vital for the treatment because they facilitate early diagnosis of intracranial hemorrhage. At this point, deep learning can provide effective outcomes through an automated diagnosis way. However, as different from the known solutions, diagnosis of five different hemorrhage subtypes is a critical problem to be solved. This study focused on deep learning methods and employed cranial computed tomography scans in order to detect intracranial hemorrhage. The diagnosis approach in the study aimed to detect five subtypes of hemorrhage. In detail, EfficientNet-B3 and ResNet-Inception-V2 architectures were used for diagnosis purposes. Eventually, the study also proposed a two-architecture hybrid method for the diagnosis purpose. The obtained findings by the hybrid method were evaluated in terms of a comparative perspective. Results showed that the newly designed hybrid method was quite effective in terms of increasing classification rates of detecting intracranial hemorrhage according to the subtypes. Briefly, an accuracy of 98.5%, which is higher than those of the EfficientNet-B3 and the Inception-ResNet-V2, were obtained thanks to the developed hybrid method.</p

Background: The aim of this study was to perform a multicenter, prospective investigation regarding the epidemiology, the current effectiveness of therapeutic anticoagulation, and the risk of thromboembolism in patients with valvular atrial fibrillation (AF) based on the records of the Atrial Fibrillation in Turkey: Epidemiologic Registry (AFTER) study. Methods: Patients were selected from a total of 2,242 consecutive admissions that presented with AF diagnosed via electrocardiogram. Those diagnosed with non-valvular AF were excluded from the AFTER study population, which left 497 patients with valvular AF for analysis. Results: The etiology of valvular AF in patients was either attributed to rheumatic mitral valve stenosis (n = 217) or possessing a prosthetic heart valve (n = 280). Out of all the patients with valvular AF, 83.1% were taking warfarin for anticoagulation. Only 36.1% demonstrated a therapeutic international normalized ratio (INR), and among those patients it was found that 19.1% exhibited a labile INR. Multivariate analysis revealed that age was the only independent predictor of thromboembolic events in patients with valvular AF. Conclusions: Many valvular AF patients are not maintained at therapeutic INR levels, which poses a threat to patient health as they age and are at greater risk for thromboembolism

Ottoman Merchants and Venetian Notaries in the Early Modern Period

The aim of this paper is to study the presence of Ottoman merchants in Venice in the Modern Age. The Ottoman shipping partnership as well as the Venetian commenda were based on the mudarebe (classical Islamic shipping partnership) and several examples of this kind of partnerships may be found even between Christians and Muslims. Notarial deeds were above all proxies and often give information on merchants, their number and even their private life. Some of them were agents but there were also family companies and Ottoman grandees who were involved in international trade. Communities of merchants both in Istanbul and in Venice were also sometimes created. Last but not least, these sources contain also some examples of insurance made by Muslims to protect their goods. In general in the 16th and 17th centuries, the Ottoman merchants who traded in Venice were not alone, but they could refer to a real commercial network. Ancient historiographical theories say that in the Modern Age Ottoman Muslims were not interested in international trade and that they left it completely in Christian and Jewish hands, however documents tell us a completely different story, a story of contacts, exchanges, and even confidence and friendship

Euronun Uluslararası etkileri ve ticaret etkilerinin Türkiye ekonomisi üzerine yansımaları

The twelve member states of the European Union established a monetary union among themselves by introducing the single currency -euro- and removing their national currencies. Using a single currency eliminates economic inefficiencies brought about in currency conversion and exchange rate variability. These efficiencies generated in the euro area due to the introduction of the euro are to be transmitted to the non-EMU member countries via the trade and financial links, which are referred to as the international effects of the euro. In this thesis, the international effects of the euro are analyzed. In this context, the trade, financial and international monetary effects are discussed. As the euro area is the main trading partner of Turkey, this study focuses mainly on the trade effects. In order to evaluate the magnitude of the trade effects on the Turkish economy, the price and income elasticities of the EMU-member countries' imports iiifrom Turkey are estimated individually. The estimation results indicate a net trade creation effect for Turkey in which Germany has a relatively higher weight. The consumption goods sector and the manufacturing sector will be the main sectors reaping the benefits of the introduction of the euro. - Master of Scienc
