Ionospheric estimates of atomic oxygen concentration from charged particle measurements
Estimates of atomic concentration ionosphere from radar backscatter and rocket probe measurements of electron and ion temperatures and electron concentratio
High-impact dynamic-response analysis of nonlinear structures
Program predicts expected deformations and stresses in nonlinear simple geometric structures subjected to high-impact loading. Technique is based on node-wise predictor-corrector approach and requires moderate computer storage and run time for most problems. Program extends to include physical and geometrical nonlinearities
Memory effect in growing trees
We show that the structure of a growing tree preserves an information on the
shape of an initial graph. For the exponential trees, evidence of this kind of
memory is provided by means of the iterative equations, derived for the moments
of the node-node distance distribution. Numerical calculations confirm the
result and allow to extend the conclusion to the Barabasi--Albert scale-free
trees. The memory effect almost disappears, if subsequent nodes are connected
to the network with more than one link.Comment: 9 pages, 9 figure
The invariant charges of the Nambu-Goto String and Canonical Quantization
It is shown that the algebra of diffeomorphism-invariant charges of the
Nambu-Goto string cannot be quantized in the framework of canonical
quantization. The argument is shown to be independent of the dimension of the
underlying Minkowski space.Comment: v2: reference adde
Eigenvalue algorithm based on a combined sturm sequence and inverse iteration technique (EASI)
Desired roots are first isolated by Sturm sequence procedure. Then special variant of inverse iteration technique is applied for individual determination of each root along with its vector. Program was written in FORTRAN V for UNIVAC 1100-series computers
Yukawa bosons in two-dimensional Harmonic confinement
The ground state property of Yukawa Bose fluid confined in a radial harmonic
trap is studied. The calculation was carried out using the density functional
theory formalism within the Kohn-Sham scheme. The excess-correlation energy for
this inhomogeneous fluid is approximated via the local density approximation. A
comparison is also made with the Gross-Piteavskii model. We found that the
system of bosons interacting in terms of Yukawa potential in a harmonic trap is
energetically favorable compared to the ones interacting via contact delta
potential.Comment: 12pages, 3 figure
