The production of organic pigs and its profit potential depend on many factors. The main factors are the amount of feed required and price of feed. The amount of feed required is dependent on the genetics, management, and the health of pigs. Under organic regulations, pigs must be raised without synthetic parasite control and will probably develop parasites. This will slow the rate of gain, and increase required feed; thereby lowering feed efficiency. The price of organic feeds is higher than conventional feeds. Based on current organic feed prices and feed efficiency of approximately 4 lb feed/gain, the breakeven cost of production was calculated to be $55/cwt live

Our task as a senior design group is to redesign the Wanda Kendall Elementary School in the City of Watseka Illinois. The school is currently used for second through fourth grade. The proposed redesign involves expanding the campus in order to be used for preschool-fifth grade students. This involves: a new, expanded or relocated parking lot with a bus lane, new classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, tornado shelter, performing arts center, sufficient classroom sizes and hallways. The city has a vision of the new school being not only for students but for the community

An epidemiological study on the prevalence of self-medication practises: a serious threat for the population in the Muvattupuzha region in Kerala, India

This study is an investigation on Self medication, defined as the ‘use of a product without medical prescription or consultation in order to prevent or treat a disease or a symptom or to promote health'. The main issues in self-medication are improper usage of resources, OTC abuse, pathogen resistance and potential side effects with prolonged suffering in many of the cases. A prospective, cross -sectional questionnaire based study was carried out among 450 people selected by random sampling in the Muvattupuzha, Kerala, region. The main objectives of this study were to find out the reason and type of illness for which people self-medicate, prevalence of self-medication during pregnancy, self-medication with antibiotics and pharmacist’s approach while dispensing the OTC drugs. In the study, it was clear that a majority of the population self-medicate which includes the prescription drugs and even antibiotics. Self-medication is a serious public health concern; the remedy is to provide health education and which is the responsibility of all the pharmacists

Administrative Roles in Primary Schools for Curbing COVID-19 Pandemic in Nigeria: Henry Fayol’s Approach

COVID-19 is a threatening disease that has led to total lockdown of educational institutions in various countries, Nigeria inclusive. Presently, there is no vaccination for its cure yet; thus, the need for preventive mechanisms to reduce its spread in the schools. The primary school which this study is delimited is made of pupils whose ability to prevent this disease is minimal due to their level of physical and mental development, therefore they require proper attention. The headteachers and teachers who occupy administrative positions in primary schools need to manage these pupils, to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the schools. The main purpose of this study is to suggest how headteachers and teachers should practically discharge their administrative functions so asto reduce coronavirus spread among pupils in primary schools. This is expected to give an insight into healthy adaptive mechanism for the staff and pupils in primary schools in Nigeria. Finally, the following recommendations were made; which include: providing hygiene facilities, services of healthcare workers and isolation center in the school for pupils that may need extra care
