    This paper is about a system for assisting a car driver while parking in reverse direction. This system is used in vehicles, and continuously detects the obstacle so as to avoid accidental situation while reversing the vehicle. It makes easy for a driver to park the car in reverse direction. Driver gets immediate warning on LCD display about the obstacle. This system also gives warning to the pedestrians using buzzer while reversing the car. It not only gives warning but also apply automatic brakes when distance between an obstacle and car is below some threshold value. This is a microcontroller based system which is useful in automobiles as an intelligent vehicle assistant for safe driving. Most of the car drivers used the reverse radar or reverse camera to detect the road situation behind the vehicle when it is engaged in reverse gear. As a matter of fact, the pedestrians can virtually know if the vehicle is backing up or not only by seeing the permanent bright reverse lamps. And as there is not much change with the reverse lamp to be seen, therefore their warning function for pedestrians seems to be still insufficient eventually. Not only the warning feature of the reverse lamps is virtually not sufficient but their function will be influenced owing tothe different installation positions. Hence we propose the new technology to overcome this issue

    In this paper, nonzero component graphs and nonzero component union graphs of finite dimensional vector space are studied using the zero-divisor graph of specially constructed 0-1-distributive lattice and the zero-divisor graph of rings. Further, we define an equivalence relation on nonzero component graphs and nonzero component union graphs to deduce that these graphs are the graph join of zero-divisor graphs of Boolean algebras and complete graphs.     Crack suppression by natural fiber integration for improved interlaminar fracture toughness in fiber hybrid composites

    In this paper, the effect of integration of natural fibers in UD carbon fiber is studied. The integration of natural fibers in carbon fiber is made via intra fiber hybridization. Natural fiber hybrid composite samples were prepared for Mode I and Mode II fracture tests. XRD analysis was done for the chosen natural fibres to know the crystallinity index and then compared with Carbon and Glass fibres. The fracture test experimental results, revealed that the effect of Jute fiber integration in UD Carbon epoxy composite was found significant in getting relatively good Mode I and II fracture toughness at the crack initiation without losing its stiffness. In addition to this Kenaf Carbon epoxy composite indicated better crack suppression with 30% higher propagation toughness values as compared other hybrid combinations and pristine composites. It is observed that integration of jute fibers in UD carbon epoxy composites was significant in achieving good mode I and mode II fracture toughness at the crack initiation without losing its stiffness and also kenaf carbon epoxy composites indicated better crack suppression with 30% higher propagation toughness as compared to other hybrid combinations used

    Quantification of nanoscale density fluctuations by electron microscopy: probing cellular alterations in early carcinogenesis *

    Abstract Most cancers are curable if they are diagnosed and treated at an early stage. Recent studies suggest that nanoarchitectural changes occur within cells during early carcinogenesis and that such changes precede microscopically evident tissue alterations. It follows that the ability to comprehensively interrogate cell nanoarchitecture (e.g., macromolecular complexes, DNA, RNA, proteins and lipid membranes) could be critical to the diagnosis of early carcinogenesis. We present a study of the nanoscale mass-density fluctuations of biological tissues by quantifying their degree of disorder at the nanoscale. Transmission electron microscopy images of human tissues are used to construct corresponding effective disordered optical lattices. The properties of nanoscale disorder are then studied by statistical analysis of the inverse participation ratio (IPR) of the spatially localized eigenfunctions of these optical lattices at the nanoscale. Our results show an increase in the disorder of human colonic epithelial cells in subjects harboring early stages of colon neoplasia. Furthermore, our findings strongly suggest that increased nanoscale disorder correlates with the degree of tumorigenicity. Therefore, the IPR technique provides a practicable tool for the detection of nanoarchitectural alterations in the earliest stages of carcinogenesis. Potential applications of the technique for early cancer screening and detection are also discussed

    Assessment of Cardiac, Vascular, and Pulmonary Pathobiology In Vivo During Acute COVID-19.

    Background Acute COVID-19-related myocardial, pulmonary, and vascular pathology and how these relate to each other remain unclear. To our knowledge, no studies have used complementary imaging techniques, including molecular imaging, to elucidate this. We used multimodality imaging and biochemical sampling in vivo to identify the pathobiology of acute COVID-19. Specifically, we investigated the presence of myocardial inflammation and its association with coronary artery disease, systemic vasculitis, and pneumonitis. Methods and Results Consecutive patients presenting with acute COVID-19 were prospectively recruited during hospital admission in this cross-sectional study. Imaging involved computed tomography coronary angiography (identified coronary disease), cardiac 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine-18]fluoro-D-glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (identified vascular, cardiac, and pulmonary inflammatory cell infiltration), and cardiac magnetic resonance (identified myocardial disease) alongside biomarker sampling. Of 33 patients (median age 51 years, 94% men), 24 (73%) had respiratory symptoms, with the remainder having nonspecific viral symptoms. A total of 9 patients (35%, n=9/25) had cardiac magnetic resonance-defined myocarditis. Of these patients, 53% (n=5/8) had myocardial inflammatory cell infiltration. A total of 2 patients (5%) had elevated troponin levels. Cardiac troponin concentrations were not significantly higher in patients with and without myocarditis (8.4 ng/L [interquartile range, IQR: 4.0-55.3] versus 3.5 ng/L [IQR: 2.5-5.5]; P=0.07) or myocardial cell infiltration (4.4 ng/L [IQR: 3.4-8.3] versus 3.5 ng/L [IQR: 2.8-7.2]; P=0.89). No patients had obstructive coronary artery disease or vasculitis. Pulmonary inflammation and consolidation (percentage of total lung volume) was 17% (IQR: 5%-31%) and 11% (IQR: 7%-18%), respectively. Neither were associated with the presence of myocarditis. Conclusions Myocarditis was present in a third patients with acute COVID-19, and the majority had inflammatory cell infiltration. Pneumonitis was ubiquitous, but this inflammation was not associated with myocarditis. The mechanism of cardiac pathology is nonischemic and not attributable to a vasculitic process.
