Armes, armadures i batalles al·legòriques en els sermons de Vicent Ferrer

The expression of the fight against sin, the battle against the demon constitutes one of the most general and extended isotopies in the preaching of Vincent Ferrer. This paper attempts, on the one hand, to describe the exploitation of the allegory of the Christian’s weapons, of Pauline origin, for the expression of such a semantic approach; on the other, it illustrates, with examples taken from Vincent Ferrer’s sermons, the use of metaphors and military allegories for the expression of the conflict with evil. Finally, it concludes with the study of the pitched battle against the devil, included in a Lenten sermon, placing it in the context of other uses of the same topic or theme.[ca] L’expressió de la lluita contra el pecat, del combat contra el dimoni constitueix una de les isotopies més generals i esteses en la predicació vicentina. Aquest estudi intenta, d’una banda, descriure l’aprofitament de l’al·legoria de les armes del cristià, d’arrel paulina, per a l’expressió de tal eix semàntic; d’altra, il·lustra, amb mostres preses de sermons vicentins, la utilització de metàfores i al·legories de base militar per a l’expressió del conflicte amb el mal. Finalment, s’atura en l’estudi de la batalla campal contra el dimoni, inclosa en un sermó de Quaresma, situant aquesta en el context d’altres utilitzacions del mateix tòpic

El present treball ofereix l'estudi i edició d'una selecció dels exempla que conté el ms. 61 de la BUB. L'estudi té en compte tant l'evolució postmedieval de l'exemplarística com el de l'àmbit sociocultural de la literatura catalana del s. xviii. Cada narració, a la fi del treball, rep atenció individualitzada, la qual cosa permet col·locar-la en el recorregut de la tradició literària que li correspon.This paper is a study and edited presentation of a selection of the exempla in ms. 61 of BUB. The study covers both the evolution of postmedieval exempla-literature and the socio-cultural context of Catalan literature in the eighteenth century. Each story at the end of the paper receives individual attention, which enables us to situate it along the line of development of its corresponding literary tradition
