Possible reduction of the total uncertainty on the W boson mass measured at LEP2
An alternative W mass estimator in e+e- -> WW -> qqqq events at LEP2 is
designed to optimize the balance between the statistical uncertainty and the
systematic uncertainty due to a possible Colour Reconnection effect. The
preliminary result for the total uncertainty on the W mass in this channel is
roughly 30 % lower then those obtained with the standard estimators, based on
the SKI implementation of Colour Reconnection. Also an indirect measurement of
the SKI Colour Reconnection model parameter kappa is inferred from the

Top Quark Physics at the LHC
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is expected to provide proton-proton
collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV, yielding millions of of top
quark events. The top-physics potential of the two general purpose experiments,
ATLAS and CMS, is discussed according to state-of-the-art simulation of both
physics and detectors. An overview is given of the most important results with
emphasis on the expected improvements in our understanding of physics connected

Signatures of top flavour-changing dark matter
We develop the phenomenology of scenarios in which a dark matter candidate
interacts with a top quark through flavour-changing couplings, employing a
simplified dark matter model with an s-channel vector-like mediator. We study
in detail the top-charm flavour-changing interaction, by investigating the
single top plus large missing energy signature at the LHC as well as
constraints from the relic density and direct and indirect dark matter
detection experiments. We present strategies to distinguish between the
top-charm and top-up flavour-changing models by taking advantage of the lepton
charge asymmetry as well as by using charm-tagging techniques on an extra jet.
We also show the complementarity between the LHC and canonical dark matter
experiments in exploring the viable parameter space of the models.Comment: 40 pages, 9 figures, 6 table
Automated mass spectrum generation for new physics
We describe an extension of the FeynRules package dedicated to the automatic
generation of the mass spectrum associated with any Lagrangian-based quantum
field theory. After introducing a simplified way to implement particle mixings,
we present a new class of FeynRules functions allowing both for the analytical
computation of all the model mass matrices and for the generation of a C++
package, dubbed ASperGe. This program can then be further employed for a
numerical evaluation of the rotation matrices necessary to diagonalize the
field basis. We illustrate these features in the context of the
Two-Higgs-Doublet Model, the Minimal Left-Right Symmetric Standard Model and

Definition of a Structured Training Curriculum for Robot-assisted Radical Cystectomy with Intracorporeal Ileal Conduit in Male Patients: A Delphi Consensus Study Led by the ERUS Educational Board
Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) continues to expand, and several surgeons start training for this complex procedure. This calls for the development of a structured training program, with the aim to improve patient safety during RARC learning curve. A modified Delphi consensus process was started to develop the curriculum structure. An online survey based on the available evidence was delivered to a panel of 28 experts in the field of RARC, selected according to surgical and research experience, and expertise in running training courses. Consensus was defined as ≥80% agreement between the responders. Overall, 96.4% experts completed the survey. The structure of the RARC curriculum was defined as follows: (1) theoretical training; (2) preclinical simulation-based training: 5-d simulation-based activity, using models with increasing complexity (ie, virtual reality, and dry- and wet-laboratory exercises), and nontechnical skills training session; (3) clinical training: modular console activity of at least 6 mo at the host center (a RARC case was divided into 11 steps and steps of similar complexity were grouped into five modules); and (4) final evaluation: blind review of a video-recorded RARC case. This structured training pathway will guide a starting surgeon from the first steps of RARC toward independent completion of a full procedure. Clinical implementation is urgently needed
Integration of the End Cap TEC+ of the CMS Silicon Strip Tracker
The silicon strip tracker of the CMS experiment has been completed and inserted into the CMS detector in late 2007. The largest sub-system of the tracker is its end cap system, comprising two large end caps (TEC) each containing 3200 silicon strip modules. To ease construction, the end caps feature a modular design: groups of about 20 silicon modules are placed on sub-assemblies called petals and these self-contained elements are then mounted into the TEC support structures. Each end cap consists of 144 petals, and the insertion of these petals into the end cap structure is referred to as TEC integration. The two end caps were integrated independently in Aachen (TEC+) and at CERN (TEC--). This note deals with the integration of TEC+, describing procedures for end cap integration and for quality control during testing of integrated sections of the end cap and presenting results from the testing
