    A note on q-analogue of Boole polynomials

    Full text link
    In this paper, we consider the q-extensions of Boole polynomials. From those polynomials, we derive some new and interesting properties and identities related to special polynomials.Comment: 11 page

    In this paper, we consider Barnes-type Daehee polynomials of the first kind and of the second kind. From the properties of Sheffer sequences of these polynomials arising from umbral calculus, we derive new and interesting identities.Comment: 34 page

    A Strategy on the Application of Cell Ministry as a Model of a Healthy Immigrant Church

    The objective of this thesis is to first understand the distinctive characteristic of the cell group church, and to research the strategy of transitioning the traditional immigrant church to a healthy cell group church. The foundational concept of this thesis was brought from the early church in the New Testament, and its origin could have been found in the historical small group movement. Seoul Baptist Church of Houston and Light Mission Global Church of Washington D.C. were the model churches that were used. Surveys and interview were examined focusing on the two church’s cell group leaders and members, and it became the foundation of the analysis and the evaluations. Four ministry visions and 8 types of practical strategies were resented for the transition of the CPC to a healthy cell church. Effectiveness in these ministry visions and the strategies are cause by the help of the churches that are growing as a cell church, help of the professional research scholars of the cell churches, and most of all, it is due to the Biblical theory that took place

    In Vitro Chemosensitivity Using the Histoculture Drug Response Assay in Human Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

    The choice of chemotherapeutic drugs to treat patients with epithelial ovarian cancer has not depended on individual patient characteristics. We have investigated the correlation between in vitro chemosensitivity, as determined by the histoculture drug response assay (HDRA), and clinical responses in epithelial ovarian cancer. Fresh tissue samples were obtained from 79 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer. The sensitivity of these samples to 11 chemotherapeutic agents was tested using the HDRA method according to established methods, and we analyzed the results retrospectively. HDRA showed that they were more chemosensitive to carboplatin, topotecan and belotecan, with inhibition rates of 49.2%, 44.7%, and 39.7%, respectively, than to cisplatin, the traditional drug of choice in epithelial ovarian cancer. Among the 37 patients with FIGO stage Ⅲ/Ⅳ serous adenocarcinoma who were receiving carboplatin combined with paclitaxel, those with carboplatin-sensitive samples on HDRA had a significantly longer median disease-free interval than patients with carboplatin- resistant samples (23.2 vs. 13.8 months, p<0.05), but median overall survival did not differ significantly (60.4 vs. 37.3 months, p=0.621). In conclusion, this study indicates that HDRA could provide useful information for designing individual treatment strategies in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer

    Solutions of xqk++xq+x=ax^{q^k}+\cdots+x^{q}+x=a in GF2nGF{2^n}

    Though it is well known that the roots of any affine polynomial over a finite field can be computed by a system of linear equations by using a normal base of the field, such solving approach appears to be difficult to apply when the field is fairly large. Thus, it may be of great interest to find an explicit representation of the solutions independently of the field base. This was previously done only for quadratic equations over a binary finite field. This paper gives an explicit representation of solutions for a much wider class of affine polynomials over a binary prime field

    Abstract In this paper, we present linear differential equations for the generating functions of the Poisson-Charlier, actuarial, and Meixner polynomials. Also, we give an application for each case
