Asymptotic Flatness in Rainbow Gravity
A construction of conformal infinity in null and spatial directions is
constructed for the Rainbow-flat space-time corresponding to doubly special
relativity. From this construction a definition of asymptotic DSRness is put
forward which is compatible with the correspondence principle of Rainbow
gravity. Furthermore a result equating asymptotically flat space-times with
asymptotically DSR spacetimes is presented.Comment: 11 page
Particle Topology, Braids, and Braided Belts
Recent work suggests that topological features of certain quantum gravity
theories can be interpreted as particles, matching the known fermions and
bosons of the first generation in the Standard Model. This is achieved by
identifying topological structures with elements of the framed Artin braid
group on three strands, and demonstrating a correspondence between the
invariants used to characterise these braids (a braid is a set of
non-intersecting curves, that connect one set of  points with another set of
 points), and quantities like electric charge, colour charge, and so on. In
this paper we show how to manipulate a modified form of framed braids to yield
an invariant standard form for sets of isomorphic braids, characterised by a
vector of real numbers. This will serve as a basis for more complete
discussions of quantum numbers in future work.Comment: 21 pages, 16 figure
Locality and Translations in Braided Ribbon Networks
An overview of microlocality in braided ribbon networks is presented.
Following this, a series of definitions are presented to explore the concept of
microlocality and the topology of ribbon networks. Isolated substructure of
ribbon networks are introduced, and a theorem is proven that allows them to be
relocated. This is followed by a demonstration of microlocal translations.
Additionally, an investigation into macrolocality and the implications of

Quantifying the popularity of amphitheatre spectacles in the Roman west: do amphitheatre seating capacities indicate popularity levels?
This thesis aims to determine whether it is possible to quantify the popularity of amphitheatre spectacles in the Roman West. Traditionally, amphitheatre spectacles have been regarded as having experienced widespread popularity, and there has been little in the way of a proper assessment of contemporary levels of popularity in modern scholarship. This work will attempt to tackle this issue, and the popularity of amphitheatre spectacles will be primarily explored through the comparison of amphitheatre seating capacity estimates with their corresponding urban population estimates. 
Through a number of case studies, this thesis will argue that, instead of the traditionally accepted widespread popularity of amphitheatre spectacles, contemporary levels of popularity were complex, and could differ greatly, depending on time period and region of the Roman West. In these case studies, a number of factors will be considered to assess if the popularity levels in a certain region are truly reflected by the capacity-to-population ratio. This assessment includes analyses of elements of urbanism, rural populations, economic factors and the popularity of other spectacles in the area.
The data required to undertake this comparison has been compiled in an extensive database, which is presented in the appendices of this work
Understanding and Equipping Female Leadership at Prosperous Temple Church of God in Christ
Debates on whether women qualify to take up church leadership have persisted over the years. In 2016, there was an instance in Alabama where a woman was appointed as the assistant pastor of a church. Within three months of her service, the number of congregants dropped. Efforts by the church management to unravel the cause of the decline revealed that a majority of the people, particularly women, who canceled their church attendance were uncomfortable with women taking up leadership positions. The case informed this research, which will use the case study of Prosperous Temple Church of God in Christ. The study will explore perceptions of whether women should take up church leadership positions or not
Development of an electronic health message system to support recovery after stroke: Inspiring Virtual Enabled Resources following Vascular Events (iVERVE)
Purpose: Worldwide, stroke is a leading cause of disease burden. Many survivors have unmet needs after discharge from hospital. Electronic communication technology to support post-discharge care has not been used for patients with stroke. In this paper, we describe the development of a novel electronic messaging system designed for survivors of stroke to support their goals of recovery and secondary prevention after hospital discharge.
 Participants and methods: This was a formative evaluation study. The design was informed by a literature search, existing data from survivors of stroke, and behavior change theories. We established two working groups; one for developing the electronic infrastructure and the other (comprising researchers, clinical experts and consumer representatives) for establishing the patient-centered program. Following agreement on the categories for the goal-setting menu, we drafted relevant messages to support and educate patients. These messages were then independently reviewed by multiple topic experts. Concurrently, we established an online database to capture participant characteristics and then integrated this database with a purpose-built messaging system. We conducted alpha testing of the approach using the first 60 messages.
 Results: The initial goal-setting menu comprised 26 subcategories. Following expert review, another 8 goal subcategories were added to the secondary prevention category: managing cholesterol; smoking; physical activity; alcohol consumption; weight management; medication management; access to health professionals, and self-care. Initially, 455 health messages were created by members of working group 2. Following refinement and mapping to different goals by the project team, 980 health messages across the health goals and 69 general motivational messages were formulated. Seventeen independent reviewers assessed the messages and suggested adding 73 messages and removing 16 (2%). Overall, 1,233 messages (18 administrative, 69 general motivation and 1,146 health-related) were created.
