As far as the rapid development of global marketing network is concerned , it is easy to notice that logistics is becoming increasingly important. The growing competition makes these networks more efficient. More and more opportunities to bring products to the customer disorganize sales network management. The analysis of the effectiveness of distribution channels allows a close examination of efficiency of how the company reaches its customers. It also supports decisions regarding the introduction of new, previously unused channels of distribution, or modification of the already in-use ones. The range of work included a manufacturer specializing in meat processing and production of meat products, distributed in southern Poland. Using the point-analytical method, the effectiveness of distribution channels used in the company was evaluated. As a result, it was possible to determine the performance of individual sales channels. There were three distribution channels: by-company, sponsored and networking. The most effective appeared to be the networking channel, which scored a total of 235 points. Given the greatest potential of distribution, this channel, in terms of the size of the batch supplied to markets, without doubt will continue to be one of the leading directions of development in the future of the company. In second place was the by-company channel with 195 points, while the sponsored channel was the least effective. However, as a conclusion from the information gathered from the company itself, each channel will be developed in the future, proportionally to their current rank

Motivation: Knowledge management is currently one of the most important factors determining the company’s market position. It depends not only on the skilful use of resources, but also on obtaining a synergistic effect. To manage knowledge, managers must possess not only the appropriate resources of knowledge, but also must have determined management structure with the assistance of the IT (information technology) tools.Aim: The purpose of the article was to present how the modern enterprise knowledge management process is supported by information technology. For this purpose, was summarized selected indicators characterizing the use of ICT in various types of enterprises in the country. It assumed that it is important not only the equipment the companies with information technology tools, but also the degree of use of these tools. Results: Usage of ICT in Poland reaches ratios much lower than the average for the European Union. Large differences in the use of information technology occurs in individual groups of companies. Larger companies have reached a much higher degree of saturation of IT tools than smaller objects. For example, the number of Polish enterprises with computers was 94.7%, in the case of large companies it is 99.8%. Even greater discrepancy relates to access to the Internet. You may also notice differences in each province. Introduction of modern technologies related to computer science and computers (eg. cloud computing, big data, social media, e-commerce etc) enables effective knowledge management in companies. The indicators show that the management team appreciates the importance of knowledge and consistently invests for its development.</p

The study was carried out on a newly assembled commercial production line producing vegetable pastes. The aim of the study was the to assess the organization of work stations, as well as to identify and measure time losses at selected work stations of the production line, which comprise its basic elements. It was on this basis that the productivity of the tested line was assessed. Moreover, effective use of machinery and equipment was determined, using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) index, based on the measurements of three areas of production line activity: availability, productivity and quality. The indicators demonstrate the total productivity of machines and devices used in processing in the company in question. The results obtained were at a high level, which allows a conclusion that the improvement of production processes in the company is effective in real-life conditions

Excessive fragmentation of agricultural enterprises is one of the most important barriers preventing the rational use of land in a large part of Poland. In particular, this problem affects the south-eastern regions of the country. Proper spatial distribution of farmland is one of the most important factors enabling economical effectiveness of agricultural enterprises. The purpose of the study was to create a spatial database which plotted the agricultural plots of a selected group of producers. The spatial database allowed determining the impact of the plots' location on the organization of field transport between the agricultural enterprise’s head office and its plots. The scope of study was a group of 5 vegetable producerslocated in Goczałkowice-Zdrój, in the commune of Goczałkowice-Zdrój, in the Pszczynapoviat, in the Śląskie Voivodeship

The Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) has become an index of efficiency in terms of the use of machinery, equipment and production resources. It allows entrepreneurs to learn where to look for modest losses, and can be used to eliminate them. The main purpose of determining the OEE is to confront the theoretical use of machinery with the actual one, using a relationship of three main elements: availability, use and quality. The purpose of the paper is to present the experience of the use of the OEE in optimization of production processes in a production company. The most important factor in analyzing the overall effectiveness index of the equipment is choosing the right method for collecting and processing data. The best-known method is filling in of a worksheet by line employees. An analysis was carried out in a production company, determining the SLE production line performance index and using Pareto analysis results, based on data from May 2014 to June 2015. The bestperforming component of the OEE is quality, the value of which has not dropped below 95% over the period considered

Despite direct viral effect, the pathogenesis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) includes an overproduction of cytokines including interleukin 6 (IL-6). Therefore, tocilizumab (TOC), a monoclonal antibody against IL-6 receptors, was considered as a possible therapeutic option. Patients were selected from the SARSTer database, containing 2332 individuals with COVID-19. Current study included 825 adult patients with moderate to severe course. Analysis was performed in 170 patients treated with TOC and 655 with an alternative medication. The end-points of treatment effectiveness were death rate, need for mechanical ventilation, and clinical improvement. Patients treated with TOC were balanced compared to non-TOC regarding gender, age, BMI, and prevalence of coexisting conditions. Significant effect of TOC on death was demonstrated in patients with baseline IL-6 > 100 pg/mL (hazard ratio [HR]: 0.21, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.08–0.57). The best effectiveness of TOC was achieved in patients with a combination of baseline IL-6 > 100 pg/mL and either SpO2 ≤ 90% (HR: 0.07) or requiring oxygen supplementation (HR: 0.18). Tocilizumab administration in COVID-19 reduces mortality and speeds up clinical improvement in patients with a baseline concentration of IL-6 > 100 pg/mL, particularly if they need oxygen supplementation owing to the lower value of SpO2 ≤ 90%
