Um estudo sobre a possibilidade de abertura do modelo Dosso para o comércio internacional

Neste trabalho discutimos alguns aspectos do modelo de acumulação de capital desenvolvido por Dorfiman, Siamuelson e -Solow (1968), isto é DOSSO. Sabemcxs que o modelo DOSSO consiste basicamente na relação da hipótese da inexistência de capacidade ociosa do (modelo Leontieefiano Dinâmico de Acumulação de Capital. Esses dois modelos são elaborados em termos de uma economia fechada e nesse trabalho estendemos o modelo DOSSO de forma a levar em consideração tópicos com depreciação e comércio internacional. Discutimos a possibilidade de existência de uma «Extensão do Teorema do Turnpike» e introduzimos condições terminais explícitas que permitem a economia crescer balanciadamente mesmo após o término do horizonte de planejamento

In opposition to the dominant view that treats growth and distribution as conflicting goals, one can counterargument with the claims of some scope for complementarities among them This paper constructs a model intended to demonstrate that if tax policy is manipulated to ensure that a higher saving ratio is compatible with a greater workers' share in income, a reduction in the degree of distributional inequality can be consistent with faster growth. We are concerned only with the functional distributions of income and the structural form of our model is based on some relevant features of the contributions associated with post-Keynesians economists.Formulamos um modelo pós-Keynesiano que busca reduzir o conflito entre crescimento e distribuição funcional da renda. Mostramos que se a política fiscal pode ser manipulada de modo a assegurar que a taxa de poupança varie inversamente com a participação dos capitalistas na renda, uma redução no grau de desigualdade distributiva pode ser consistente com uma maior taxa de crescimento

Investment Specific Technological Progress and Structural Change

In this paper we introduce investment specific technical progress into Pasinetti’s model of structural change. Our aim is to assess effects of embodied technical progress on structural change. Our findings suggest that despite the fact that this type of technical progress increases the productivity of capital, negative effects are also generated on levels of employment and on conditions that promote equilibrium

Magic hypercube and index of welfare and sustainability

This paper systematically surveys the use of different approaches for the magic square (MS) as an indicator of welfare, a formal system of necessary relations to deal with conflicts of socioeconomic objectives. The starting point is the article of Kaldor (1971) followed by contributions by the OECD from the 1970’s resulting in a diagram which allowed a visual diagnosis of macroeconomic performance. Such representations were re-examined by Medrano-B and Teixeira (2013), who introduced a required normalization of the variables. Here, we show that this approach was marred by an oversight, namely the issue of the ordering of variables along the axes. In order to avoid this problem, we propose the use of a new mathematical approach involving a Hypercube Graph, which we call magic hypercube, which produces the same index, regardless the ordering of the variables. An application of the new concept is offered using economic data from Brazil and Chile
