With the coming of aging society, the market for elderly people will become more and more important. The elder will become an important potential market for business. Therefore, understand elderā€™s adoption of online commerce is becoming a critical issue in MIS field. The purpose of this study is attempted to understand the barrier of elderā€™s adoption of B2C online commerce. Additionally, we compared the results across different product types and ages. Survey study was employed in this study. The main result discovered that the barriers affecting user adoption of B2C online commerce would differ with the variation of age range and product type. For the elder, risk barrier and image barrier dominate the decisions for tangible products, while value barrier and risk barrier dominate for the intangible products. This research result can become a practical reference. For both academic and business, this study has a certain contribution in the development of electronic commerce

The purposes of this study include (1) understand the learning effect of integrating design thinking into information service innovation education and (2) advanced understanding the factors that can improve studentsā€™ learning effect. From the perspectives of different thinking styles and teaching designs, a quasi-experimental design approach was used in this study to complete a systematic scientific investigation. A total of 88 valid questionnaires were collected, of which, 46 were from students who were in a design-thinking-integrated class, and 42 were in a traditional class (no design thinking integration). The main findings include (1) right-brained students showed a better learning effect in both teaching environments, (2) left-brained students performed well in the traditional teaching environment, but still worse than right-brained students, (3) dual-brained students performed worse than left-or right-brained students in both teaching environments, (4) there is a significant difference between the learning effect of dual-brained and right-brained students

Establishing a Cloud Computing Success Model for Hospitals in Taiwan

The purpose of this study is to understand the critical quality-related factors that affect cloud computing success of hospitals in Taiwan. In this study, private cloud computing is the major research target. The chief information officers participated in a questionnaire survey. The results indicate that the integration of trust into the information systems success model will have acceptable explanatory power to understand cloud computing success in the hospital. Moreover, information quality and system quality directly affect cloud computing satisfaction, whereas service quality indirectly affects the satisfaction through trust. In other words, trust serves as the mediator between service quality and satisfaction. This cloud computing success model will help hospitals evaluate or achieve success after adopting private cloud computing health care services

Understand the Role of Trust in the Diffusion of Mobile Payment Service

In recent years, mobile payment services grow rapidly worldwide. The Taiwanese government also set up the goal to reach 90% coverage for mobile payments by 2025. However, it is still developing slowly in Taiwan. How to promote this new service and increase the acceptance rate is a critical issue in Taiwan. Authors claim that the formation of trust is the critical factor. Therefore, the purpose of this study attempts to understand the formation of trust in mobile payment service diffusion. Based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) and the theory of trust transfer, an integrated model to understand the antecedents and consequences of mobile payment trust is constructed. Through questionnaire survey, we have the following three major findings. First, we propose the importance of different four trust targets of mobile payment service. Besides, the antecedents and consequences of mobile payment trust have been identified. Finally, we find the social influence has significant negative impact to mobile payment continuous use intention in Taiwan

The purpose of this study is to develop a positive programming learning environment to improve junior high school student learning outcomes. The Mozart effect serves as the theoretical background to explore the effects of listening to music on programming learning effectiveness in the junior high school students. Using a quasi-experimental design, 35 students were assigned to four conditions when learning programming; (1) personal music preferences, (2) classical canons, (3) a Turkish march, and (4) no music; with the programming learning effectiveness being measured from the final grades and student learning satisfaction. Overall, this study validated the Mozart effect in junior high school programming education, that is, appropriate music listening can result in better learning outcomes when young people are learning programming
