The ecological distribution of microorganisms in the water body of West Lake was studied from April 1995 to April 1996. Results showed that the average density of heterotrophic bacteria was 2.06x10³/ml. Actinomycetes, molds and yeast had already of 35/ml, 24/ml and 2/ml, respectively. Various physiological forms of microbes were found in West Lake, including cellulose decomposing bacteria (25/ml), organic phosphorus decomposing bacteria (8/ml), and Nitrogen utilizing bacteria such as nitrite bacteria (453/ml), nitrate bacteria (585/ml), nitrate-reducers (3.2x10³/ml), and denitrifiers (43/ml). Contrasting to nitrate bacteria, cellulose decomposing bacteria, ammonifiers, nitrite bacteria and nitrate reducers were rich in winter and spring. Autotrophic bacteria, like nitrifiers were more common in L. Xiaonan and L. Beili, where the water quality was relatively good, Heterotrophic bacteria were populous in the two highly eutrophic lakes (L.Yuehu and L. Xili). The study on 78 strains isolated randomly from the five sub lakes suggested that the dominant groups in West Lake were Pseudomonas, Bacillus and Enterobacteriaceae.Article信州大学理学部附属諏訪臨湖実験所報告 11: 51-57(1999)departmental bulletin pape

The Influence of Financial Agglomeration on the Export Trade in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: An Analysis Based on Mediation Effect of Technological Innovation

    Get PDF
So far, the relation between financial agglomeration and export trade is complex and there are few related studies. However, research on this topic will be of great value to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (the Greater Bay Area). This paper aims to use the mediation model to analyze the role of technological innovation as an mediator variable between financial agglomeration and export trade. Based on the relevant data of the Greater Bay Area from 2009 to 2018, regression analysis was performed using the three equations of the mediation model. The mediator variable was then replaced to conduct a robustness test, and it was found that there is indeed an mediation effect; technological innovation acts as an mediator variable between financial agglomeration and export trade. Therefore, it can be concluded that the financial agglomeration in the Greater Bay Area can effectively promote technological innovation, while technological innovation will inhibit exports to a certain extent

Institutional quality impacts on the offer size of IPOs in the Hong Kong market

The major purpose of the present study is to examine how the institutional quality impact on the offer size of initial public offering (IPO) listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange during the year 2000 to 2017. This study utilizes three control variables for controlling the significance between institutional quality and offer size. Few empirical pieces of evidence measure the relationship between institutional quality and offer size. Therefore, this study fills the gap of literature on the significance of institutional quality on the offer size. There are six dimensions of institutional quality utilized from World Governance Indicators (WGI) that including government effectiveness, rule of law, control of corruption, political stability, voice and accountability and regulatory quality. The agency theory and signaling theory are used to further explain the impacts of institutional quality on the offer size. The present study utilizes the cross-sectional multi regression analysis to examine the hypothesis. Based on the analysis of the data of 1042 IPOs in Hong Kong, the result of this study shows that government effectiveness and regulatory quality negatively impact the offer size, and rule of law, control of corruption, political stability and voice and accountability positively impact on the offer size. Besides, the interest rate and the stock market return reflect a positive significance with offer size, but the Gross Domestic Price (GDP) growth shows a negative relationship with offer size. The significance of the present study may remind the regulators to improve the institutional quality to promote the growth of the market

3-D motion recovery via low rank matrix analysis

Skeleton tracking is a useful and popular application of Kinect. However, it cannot provide accurate reconstructions for complex motions, especially in the presence of occlusion. This paper proposes a new 3-D motion recovery method based on lowrank matrix analysis to correct invalid or corrupted motions. We address this problem by representing a motion sequence as a matrix, and introducing a convex low-rank matrix recovery model, which fixes erroneous entries and finds the correct low-rank matrix by minimizing nuclear norm and `1-norm of constituent clean motion and error matrices. Experimental results show that our method recovers the corrupted skeleton joints, achieving accurate and smooth reconstructions even for complicated motions

    PRIVACY DASHBOARD

A computing device may display a graphical user interface (GUI) of a privacy dashboard showing permission usage of sensor data (e.g., location, microphone, camera, etc.) and content provider data (e.g., files, media, contacts, calendar, short message service (SMS), call log, etc.) by applications for a given time period (e.g., the past 24 hours, the past 7 days, etc.). The privacy dashboard may include graphs, lists, and other visual indicators for displaying information about the permission usage per sensor and/or per application in a clear, concise, and comprehensible way. In the privacy dashboard, the computing device may include certain types of privacy information, such as sensor data usage, within the initial screen while omitting other types of privacy information, such as content provider data usage, from the initial screen. The computing device may display information about other types of privacy information in response to a user input (e.g., touch input). In some examples, the privacy dashboard may enable a user to see detailed information about permission usage of an application and manage permissions for each application via the privacy dashboard. As such, the privacy dashboard may improve user awareness and comprehension of data access by increasing transparency with respect to permission usage by applications
