Rethinking on Challenging “Ricardo Law” and Construct Innovative and Harmonious China
Developed countries, heading by the United States, have been trying to break away from the “Ricardo law” circle, while the US financial crisis has once again declared its failure. As the biggest developing country, China is now challenging the “Ricardo Law”. This paper has a brief rethinking on the western conflictive and harmonious thoughts of World development in order to probe on our ongoing harmonious socialist development.

Relation between axial length and ocular parameters
AIM: To investigatethe relation between axial length(AL), age and ocular parameters.<p>METHODS: A total of 360 subjects(360 eyes)with emmetropia or myopia were recruited. Refraction, center corneal thickness(CCT), AL, intraocular pressure(IOP)were measured by automatic-refractor, Pachymeter, A-mode ultrasound and non-contact tonometer, respectively. Corneal curvature(CC), anterior chamber depth(ACD)and white-to-white distance(WWD)were measured by Orbscan II. Three dimensional frequency domain coherent optical tomography(3D-OCT)was used to examine the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness(RNFLT). The Pearson correlation coefficient(<i>r</i>)and multiple regression analysis were performed to evaluate the relationship between AL, age and ocular parameters.<p>RESULTS: The average AL was 24.15±1.26mm. With elongation of the AL, spherical equivalent(SE)(<i>r</i>=-0.742,<i>P</i><0.01), CC(<i>r</i>=-0.395, <i>P</i><0.01)and RNFLT(<i>r</i>=-0.374, <i>P</i><0.01)all decreased, while the mean ACD(<i>r</i>=0.411, <i>P</i><0.01)increased. On the contrary, there was not statistical significan with CCT(<i>r</i>=0.099, <i>P</i>=0.060)and WWD(<i>r</i>=0.061, <i>P</i>=0.252). There was also a significant correlation between AL and age(<i>P</i>=0.001), SE(<i>P</i><0.001), ACD(<i>P</i><0.001), CC(<i>P</i><0.001)in Multiple linear regression analysis.<p>CONCLUSION: In longer eyes, there is a tendency toward myopia, a flatter cornea, a deeper ACD and a thinner RNFLT. Age is an influencing factor for the AL as well
Two-copy Quantum Teleportation
We investigate two-copy scenario of quantum teleportation based on Bell
measurements. The detailed protocol is presented and the general expression of
the corresponding optimal teleportation delity is derived, which is given by
the two-copy fully entangled fraction that is invariant under local unitary
transformations. We prove that under a speci c case of the protocol, which is
signi cant for improving the optimal delity, the set of states with their
two-copy fully entangled fractions bounded by a threshold value that required
for useful two-copy teleportation is convex and compact. Hence the witness
operators exist to separate states that are useful for two-copy teleportation
from the rest ones. Moreover, we show that the optimal delity of two-copy
teleportation surpasses that of the original one copy teleportation.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figure
Doxycycline inhibits the infiltration of inflammatory cells in rat alkali burn corneas
AIM: To investigate the inhibited effect of Doxycycline on the infiltration of inflammatory cells in rat alkali burn corneas. METHODS: Corneas of 32 SD rats were injured with 1mol/L NaOH, then divided into two groups: control and doxycycline-treated. All agents were administered topically 4 times daily. Slit-lamp microscope was performed and inflammatory index was calculated at 3, 7, 14 and 21 days after injury. Then 4 rats were randomly sacrificed and each cornea was divided into two parts, one for histopathology, the other for ICAM-1 ELISA assay. RESULTS:In control group, the inflammatory index and the number of inflammatory cell was higher than the doxycycline-treated dramatically at all time points(P<0.05). Compared with control group, corneal ICAM-1 expression decreased significantly in doxycycline-treated group at all time points(P < 0.05). CONCLUSION:Doxycycline may inhibit inflammatory cell infiltration by down-regulating ICAM-1 expression
Bi- and tri-dentate imino-based iron and cobalt pre-catalysts for ethylene oligo-/polymerization
Recent progress on the use of iron and cobalt complex pre-catalysts for ethylene reactivity is reviewed. The review is organized in terms of the denticity of the chelate ligands employed, with particular reference to the influence of the ligand frameworks and their substituents on the catalytic performance for ethylene oligomerization/polymerization catalysis. The majority of the systems bear tri-dentate ligation at the iron/cobalt centre, though it is clear that bi-dentate iron/cobalt complex pre-catalysts have also attracted significant attention. Such systems produce in most cases highly linear products ranging from oligomeric α-olefins to high molecular weight polyethylene, and as such are promising candidates for both academic and industrial considerations
