    Risk Of Endometrial Cancer In Relation To Macronutrients From Diet

    Abstract Object: To estimate the risk of endometrial cancer (EC) in association with intake of macronutrients from diet. Design: A population-based case-control study conducted in Connecticut from 2004 to 2009 Method: Nutrient intake from diet was assessed by retrospective food frequency questionnaire. Multivariate unconditional logistic regression was used to estimate the EC risk in association with quartile levels of nutrient intake Subjects: 583 women aged between 35-80 who were diagnosed with EC during 2004-2009 were enrolled in the study. Controls were identified by random digital dialing and matched to cases by age in frequency. Results: The majority of macronutrients were not found to be associated with the risk of endometrial cancer. A significantly increased risk was shown in women who consumed high levels of trans-fat; compared to the lowest level OR for the third and forth quartiles=2.39, 2.43, respectively. In a multivariate-adjusted model, the ORs were attenuated to 1.93 and 1.75. A 60.5% or 53.4% decrease in risk was found in women with the highest quartile of alcohol drinking in energy- or multivariate-adjusted model, respectively. Conclusions: The analysis suggests a positive relation between trans-fat intake and risk of EC and a protective effect of alcohol drinking on EC

    The strength of college students’ entrepreneurial willingness is a barometer for measuring the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education. It is also an important avenue for college students to expand their employment opportunities and enhance the quality of their employment in the face of new employment trends. Comprehensive universities offer a wide range of disciplines and great professional specialization. It is of great significance to explore the diversity results in college students’ entrepreneurship education indicators. According to the data on the relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurship willingness in comprehensive universities in Jiangsu province, various factors such as subject characteristics, work experience, educational background, and family environment significantly impact college students’ willingness to become entrepreneurs. The implementation of entrepreneurship education, including the awakening of entrepreneurial consciousness, the cultivation of entrepreneurial abilities, and the improvement of entrepreneurial willingness, has a direct impact on college students’ willingness to start their own businesses

    Global research status and frontiers on microvascular invasion of hepatocellular carcinoma: A bibliometric and visualized analysis

    IntroductionOver the past decade, several studies on the microvascular invasion (MVI) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have been published. However, they have not quantitatively analyzed the remarkable impact of MVI. Therefore, a more comprehensive understanding of the field is now needed. This study aims to analyze the evolution of HCC-MVI research and to systematically evaluate the scientific outputs using bibliometric citation analysis.MethodsA systematic search was conducted on the Web of Science Core Collection on 2 May 2022 to retrieve studies on HCC-MVI published between 2013 and 2022. Then, a bibliometric analysis of the publications was performed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and other visualization tools.ResultsA total of 1,208 articles on HCC MVI were identified. Of these, China (n = 518) was the most prolific country, and Fudan University (n = 90) was the most notable institution. Furthermore, we observed that Lau Wan Yee participated in most studies (n = 26), and Frontiers in Oncology (IF2020:6.24) published the highest number of documents (n = 49) on this subject, with 138 publications. The paper “Bray F, 2018, CA-CANCER J CLIN, V68, P394” has the highest number of co-cited references, with 119 citations. In addition, the top three keywords were “survival”, “recurrence”, and “microvascular invasion”. Moreover, the research hot spots and frontiers of HCC-MVI for the last 3 years included imaging characteristics and transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) therapy studies.ConclusionsThis study comprehensively summarized the most significant HCC-MVI documents from past literature and highlighted key contributions made to the advancement of this subject and the advancement of this field over the past decade. The trend of MVI research will gradually shift from risk factors and prognosis studies to imaging characteristics and TACE therapy studies

    A Hybrid Wavelet de-noising and Rank-Set Pair Analysis approach for forecasting hydro-meteorological time series

    Accurate, fast forecasting of hydro-meteorological time series is presently a major challenge in drought and flood mitigation. This paper proposes a hybrid approach, wavelet de-noising (WD) and Rank-Set Pair Analysis (RSPA), that takes full advantage of a combination of the two approaches to improve forecasts of hydro-meteorological time series. WD allows decomposition and reconstruction of a time series by the wavelet transform, and hence separation of the noise from the original series. RSPA, a more reliable and efficient version of Set Pair Analysis, is integrated with WD to form the hybrid WD-RSPA approach. Two types of hydro-meteorological data sets with different characteristics and different levels of human influences at some representative stations are used to illustrate the WD-RSPA approach. The approach is also compared to three other generic methods: the conventional Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) (BP-error Back Propagation, MLP-Multilayer Perceptron and RBF-Radial Basis Function), and RSPA alone. Nine error metrics are used to evaluate the model performance. Compared to three other generic methods, the results generated by WD-REPA model presented invariably smaller error measures which means the forecasting capability of the WD-REPA model is better than other models. The results show that WD-RSPA is accurate, feasible, and effective. In particular, WD-RSPA is found to be the best among the various generic methods compared in this paper, even when the extreme events are included within a time series

    Theoretical Logic and Implementation Path of Comprehensive Land Consolidation for Promoting Common Prosperity: A Case Study of Ningbo City

    Eliminating poverty and achieving social justice are global concerns. China has focused on common prosperity. Comprehensive land consolidation is a potential policy tool that can contribute to common prosperity, but its effectiveness and implementation methods are yet to be verified and discussed. Therefore, we construct an analytical framework to understand how comprehensive land consolidation promotes common prosperity. The pilot area for comprehensive land consolidation in Ningbo City is used as a qualitative case study. The research results indicate that comprehensive land consolidation focuses on development and sharing to promote high-quality socio-economic development, social fairness, and justice. The paths for achieving development included the following: (1) a network governance structure consisting of multiple entities to enhance land governance; (2) various consolidation activities were conducted at the town scale to optimize the functionality and spatial pattern of public spaces; and (3) enabling the flow of urban and rural factors for improved resource allocation efficiency and providing an impetus for industrial development. The paths for achieving sharing included clarifying collective land ownership and promoting land transactions to provide diverse land values and ensure a shared distribution. This research provides new insights applicable to other Chinese cities and numerous developing countries engaged in land consolidation to address social distribution issues

    Mechanism for generating and promoting manufacturing project portfolio synergy

    To explore the mechanism for generating and promoting project portfolio (PP) synergy, a model applying the causal loop diagram (CLD) is established. The efforts have been done include four parts. First, a sustainable objective system is determined through the improved balanced scorecard. Second, three categories of manufacturing projects are identified to illustrate the characteristics and objectives. Third, a CLD model is constructed based on the objective achievement process of PPs. Fourth, suggestions are made to promote the objective realization by synergy. The major result is that the generation and promotion mechanism are portrayed through the causal loops and feedbacks of CLD. CLD is adopted as the analytical approach for superiority in visualizing complex relationships. The main findings are: (1) The synergy generation mechanism is specified that PP synergy generates from the collaborative behaviors among PPs. (2) PP synergy promotes objective realization through additional effects arise from complex feedbacks among behaviors

    A Novel Image Classification Approach via Dense-MobileNet Models

    As a lightweight deep neural network, MobileNet has fewer parameters and higher classification accuracy. In order to further reduce the number of network parameters and improve the classification accuracy, dense blocks that are proposed in DenseNets are introduced into MobileNet. In Dense-MobileNet models, convolution layers with the same size of input feature maps in MobileNet models are taken as dense blocks, and dense connections are carried out within the dense blocks. The new network structure can make full use of the output feature maps generated by the previous convolution layers in dense blocks, so as to generate a large number of feature maps with fewer convolution cores and repeatedly use the features. By setting a small growth rate, the network further reduces the parameters and the computation cost. Two Dense-MobileNet models, Dense1-MobileNet and Dense2-MobileNet, are designed. Experiments show that Dense2-MobileNet can achieve higher recognition accuracy than MobileNet, while only with fewer parameters and computation cost

    lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1 Exacerbates As2O3-Induced Oxidative Damage in Bladder Cancer via miR-6734-5p-Mediated Functional Inhibition of IDH2

    Arsenic trioxide (As2O3) is a promising effective chemotherapeutic agent for cancer treatment; however, how and through what molecular mechanisms the oxidative damage of As2O3 is controlled remains poorly understood. Recently, the involvement of dysregulated long noncoding RNA ovarian tumor domain containing 6B antisense RNA1 (lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1) in tumorigenesis is established. Here, for the first time, we characterize the regulation of As2O3 in the oxidative damage against bladder cancer via lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1. As2O3 could activate lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1 transcription in bladder cancer cells, and these findings were validated in a xenograft tumor model. Functional assays showed that lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1 dramatically exacerbated As2O3-mediated oxidative damage by inducing oxidative stress. Mechanistically, As2O3 increased levels of metal-regulatory transcription factor 1 (MTF1), which regulates lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1, in response to oxidative stress. Further, lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1 inhibited mitochondrial NADP+-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2) expression by stabilizing miR-6734-5p, which contributed to cytotoxicity by enhancing oxidative stress. Together, our findings offer new insights into the mechanism of As2O3-induced oxidative damage and identify important factors in the pathway, As2O3/lncRNA OTUD6B-AS1/miR-6734-5p/IDH2, expanding the knowledge of activity of As2O3 as cancer treatment

    Life satisfaction and its influencing factors of middle-aged and elderly stroke patients in China: a national cross-sectional survey

    Objectives: This study reports the life satisfaction of middle-aged and elderly patients who had a stroke in China, and explores its association with patients’ sociodemographic characteristics, health status, lifestyles and family relationship. Design: Cross-sectional survey. Setting and participants: The samples of this study were selected from the data of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2018, which covered 28 provinces, 150 countries/districts and 450 village/urban communities. 1154 patients who had a stroke aged 45 and over were included in this study as qualified samples. Outcome measures: Descriptive analysis was used to report sociodemographic characteristics, health status, lifestyles, family relationship and life satisfaction of middle-aged and elderly patients who had a stroke. χ2 analysis and binary logistic regression were used to analyse the factors influencing the life satisfaction of the patients who had a stroke. Results: Overall, 83.1% of patients who had a stroke were satisfied with their lives, although only 8.7% rated their own health as being good. Patients who had a stroke who were male, elderly, married, living with their spouses and having a pension were more likely to report satisfaction with life (p<0.05). Self-rated health, health satisfaction, chronic lung disease, fall, pain, ability to work and family relationships were also significantly associated with life satisfaction (p<0.05). Patients who drank alcohol (86.8% vs 81.7%, p=0.041), had physical activity (84.4% vs 75.6%, p=0.004) and had social activity (85.3% vs 80.8%, p=0.041) were more satisfied with their lives than those who did not. Multivariable analysis confirmed that age, health satisfaction, physical pain, working ability, relationships with spouse and with children had significant effects on life satisfaction of patients who had a stroke (p<0.05). Conclusions: Our study indicates the importance of improving the overall health of patients who had a stroke and mediating factors, such as pain management, and work ability, spouse and children relationship in improving the life satisfaction of patients in the poststroke rehabilitation
