Experimental study on atomization characteristics of two common spiral channel pressure nozzles
Spiral channel pressure nozzles are commonly used pressure nozzles in practical workplaces. In this paper, two kinds of spiral channel type pressure nozzles, namely, spiral hole type and spiral non-porous type, the atomization characteristics and dust reduction efficiency under different spray pressures are discussed and compared. Based on the experimental method, based on the self-designed spray dust-reducing roadway experimental platform, the macro-atomization characteristics of the two nozzles, namely the flow rate, the atomization angle, the range, and the droplet size, were measured. The following conclusions were drawn: (1) The flow rates of both nozzles increase with increasing spray pressure, and the flow coefficient of the spiral non-porous nozzle is small. (2) The change of the atomization angle of the two nozzles first increases and then decreases with the increase of the spray pressure, and the atomization angle of the spiral non-porous nozzle is larger. At the same time, the range of the two nozzles gradually increases as the spray pressure increases, and the range of the spiral perforated nozzle is always larger than that of the spiral non-porous nozzle. (3) When the spray pressure is gradually increased, the droplet size of the two nozzles selected in the experiment is gradually reduced, and the droplet size of the spiral perforated nozzle is always larger than that of the spiral non-porous nozzle before 5 MPa, and then gradually Become smaller. The main reason why the droplet size decreases with the increase of the spray pressure is that the increase of the spray pressure leads to an increase in the spray speed of the water droplets, so that the water droplets are completely split when they are ejected from the nozzle, resulting in a smaller droplet size. In summary, when the spray pressure required in the actual working environment is low, the use of a spiral non-porous nozzle is more conducive to dust reduction
Epidemiological characteristics of Vibrio parahaemolyticus outbreaks, Zhejiang, China, 2010–2022
BackgroundVibrio parahaemolyticus is one of the most common foodborne pathogens and poses a significant disease burden. The purpose of the study was to elucidate the epidemiological characteristics of Vibrio parahaemolyticus outbreaks in Zhejiang Province, and provide insights for the targeted prevention and control of foodborne diseases.MethodsDescriptive statistical methods were utilized to analyze the data on Vibrio parahaemolyticus outbreaks reported by all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCs) through Foodborne Disease Outbreaks Surveillance System (FDOSS) in Zhejiang Province from 2010 to 2022.ResultsFrom 2010 to 2022, a total of 383 outbreaks caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus were reported by 90 CDCs in 11 prefectures of Zhejiang Province, resulting in 4,382 illnesses, 326 hospitalizations and 1 death. The main symptoms of the outbreak-related cases were diarrhea (95.18%), abdominal pain (89.23%), nausea (55.64%), vomiting (50.57%), fever (24.21%), etc. The outbreaks occurring between July and September accounted for 77.54% of all outbreaks (297 out of 383). Outbreaks associated with restaurants accounted for the majority (57.96%, 222/383) of all outbreaks, followed by those linked to staff canteens (15.40%, 59/383) and rural banquets (11.23%, 43/383). 31.85% of all outbreaks were associated with the consumption of aquatic products, while ready-to-eat foods such as Chinese cold dishes and cooked meat products accounted for 12.53% of all outbreaks. Serotype O3:K6 (81.94%, 118/144) was the predominant serotype responsible for outbreaks from 2010 to 2020, while serotype O10:K4 (57.89%, 33/57) was the predominant serotype from 2021 to 2022.ConclusionIn-depth and comprehensive analysis of long-term surveillance data on Vibrio parahaemolyticus outbreaks is essential to gain insight into the epidemiological characteristics, identify long-term patterns and recent trends, and enable governments to prioritize interventions and develop targeted policies to mitigate such outbreaks
Toxic effects of hexaflumuron on the development of Cocccinella septempunctata
Studying the toxic risk of pesticide exposure to ladybird beetles is important from an agronomical and ecological perspective since larval and adult ladybirds are dominant predators of herbivorous pest insects (e.g., aphids) in various crops in China. This article mainly deals with the long-term effects of a single application of the insect growth regulator hexaflumuron on Coccinella septempunctata. A 72- h and a 33-day toxicity test with hexaflumuron (single application) were performed, starting with the second instar larvae of C. septempunctata. Exposure doses in the long-term experiment were based on the estimated 72-h acute LR50 (application rate causing 50 % mortality) value of 304 g active ingredient (a.i.) ha-1 for second instar larvae of C. septempunctata. The long-term test used five hexaflumuron doses as treatment levels (1/50, 1/100, 1/200, 1/400, and 1/800 of the 72-h acute LR50), as well as a solvent control and blank control treatment. The measurement endpoints used to calculate no observed effect application rates (NOERs) included development time, hatching, pupation, adult emergence, survival, and number of eggs produced. Analyzing the experimental data with one-way analysis of variance showed that the single hexaflumuron application had significant effects on C. septempunctata endpoints in the 33-day test, including effects on development duration (NOER 1.52 g a.i. ha-1), hatching (NOER 3.04 g a.i. ha-1), pupation (NOER 3.04 g a.i. ha-1), and survival (NOER 1.52 g a.i. ha-1). These NOERs are lower than the reported maximum field application rate of hexaflumuron (135 g a.i. ha-1) in cotton cultivation, suggesting potential risks to beneficial arthropods
Characteristics of Radiogenic Heat Production of Widely Distributed Granitoids in Western Sichuan, Southeast Tibetan Plateau
AbstractInvestigating the genesis of geothermal resources requires a thorough understanding of the heat source mechanism, which is also a vital basis for the efficient exploration and utilization of geothermal resources. Situated in the eastern Himalayan syntax, western Sichuan is considered to be one of the main concentration regions of high-temperature geothermal resources in China. To date, various studies have been carried out to reveal the heat source and genesis of the abundant high-temperature resources in this area; however, studies on the contribution of the radioactive heat generated by the widely distributed granitoids to the high-temperature geothermal resources remain scarce. In order to resolve this knowledge gap, we attempted to obtain evidence from the geochemical data published in the literature in the past few decades. A total of 548 radiogenic heat production rate data were determined. The statistical data indicate that the average concentrations of the heat-producing elements U, Th, and K are 6.09±5.22 ppm, 26.74±16.78 ppm, and 3.51±0.82%, respectively. The calculated heat production values of the granitoids vary from 0.52 to 10.86 μW/m3, yielding an arithmetic average value of 3.74±2.15 μW/m3, which is higher than that of global Mesozoic–Cenozoic granites (3.09±1.62 μW/m3). Based on the heat production values, the capacity of the granitic batholiths to store heat was assessed, and the Dongcuo pluton was found to be the largest heat reservoir (382.88×1013 J/a). The distribution of the crustal heat flow was examined using the calculated heat production data and the stratigraphic structure obtained via deep seismic sounding in the study area. The results indicate that the crustal heat flow is 48.3–56.2 mW/m2, which is mainly contributed by the radioactive decay in the granitoids in the upper crust. The fact that it accounts for nearly half of the regional background heat flow indicates that the radiogenic heat from the granitoids is an important heat source for the formation of the thermal anomaly and the high-temperature geothermal resources in the study area. Thus, the results obtained in this study highlight the importance of the widely distributed granitoids to high-temperature geothermal resources in western Sichuan

Distinct Effects of IL-18 on the Engraftment and Function of Human Effector CD8+ T Cells and Regulatory T Cells
IL-18 has pleotropic effects on the activation of T cells during antigen presentation. We investigated the effects of human IL-18 on the engraftment and function of human T cell subsets in xenograft mouse models. IL-18 enhanced the engraftment of human CD8+ effector T cells and promoted the development of xenogeneic graft versus host disease (GVHD). In marked contrast, IL-18 had reciprocal effects on the engraftment of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs) in the xenografted mice. Adoptive transfer experiments indicated that IL-18 prevented the suppressive effects of Tregs on the development of xenogeneic GVHD. The IL-18 results were robust as they were observed in two different mouse strains. In addition, the effects of IL-18 were systemic as IL-18 promoted engraftment and persistence of human effector T cells and decreased Tregs in peripheral blood, peritoneal cavity, spleen and liver. In vitro experiments indicated that the expression of the IL-18Rα was induced on both CD4 and CD8 effector T cells and Tregs, and that the duration of expression was less sustained on Tregs. These preclinical data suggest that human IL-18 may have use as an adjuvant for immune reconstitution after cytotoxic therapies, and to augment adoptive immunotherapy, donor leukocyte infusions, and vaccine strategies
Implementation and performances of the IPbus protocol for the JUNO Large-PMT readout electronics
The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a large neutrino
detector currently under construction in China. Thanks to the tight
requirements on its optical and radio-purity properties, it will be able to
perform leading measurements detecting terrestrial and astrophysical neutrinos
in a wide energy range from tens of keV to hundreds of MeV. A key requirement
for the success of the experiment is an unprecedented 3% energy resolution,
guaranteed by its large active mass (20 kton) and the use of more than 20,000
20-inch photo-multiplier tubes (PMTs) acquired by high-speed, high-resolution
sampling electronics located very close to the PMTs. As the Front-End and
Read-Out electronics is expected to continuously run underwater for 30 years, a
reliable readout acquisition system capable of handling the timestamped data
stream coming from the Large-PMTs and permitting to simultaneously monitor and
operate remotely the inaccessible electronics had to be developed. In this
contribution, the firmware and hardware implementation of the IPbus based
readout protocol will be presented, together with the performances measured on
final modules during the mass production of the electronics

of a test protocol for the 20-inch PMT underwater readout electronics,
performed in parallel to the mass production line. In a time period of about
ten months, a total number of 6950 electronic boards were tested with an
acceptance yield of 99.1%
