Implementation of recursive queries for information systems

Sophisticated information systems require a powerful query language and an efficient implementation strategy. In practice, these information systems are either built on the top of an existing database management system or built as an expert system with deductive capabilities. Both of these implementations must provide a mechanism to express recursive queries. It is therefore a necessity for the system to have an efficient algorithm to evaluate these queries. In this thesis, we give a detailed description of a bibliographic database, a set of recursive queries, an overview of some standard query processing algorithms, and an implementation of these queries in DATALOG

The concept of Wijsman I2- Statistical Convergence (WI2StC), Wi[1]jsman I2 - Lacunary Statistical Convergence (WI2LStC), Wijsman Strongly I2 - Lacunary Convergence (WSI2LC) and Wijsman Strongly I2 - Cesaro Convergence (WSI2CeC) of double sequences in the Neutrosophic Metric Spaces (NMS) are examined in this paper. Ad[1]ditionally, we introduce the concepts of Wijsman Strongly I ∗ 2 - La[1]cunary Convergence (WSI∗ 2LC), Wijsman Strongly I2- Lacunary Cauchy (WSI2LCa), and Wijsman Strongly I ∗ 2 - Lacunary Cauchy (WSI∗ 2LCa) sequence in NMS and establish impressive results

A Survey and New Perspectives on Classifying the DDOS Attack with Their Characteristics

In network Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks has been a major threat to the Internet society. The DoS attack produces a large number of client bases due to the enslavement of major users on Web society. In such a DoS attack, the malicious invader targets a system to corrupt its services to the proposed users. These types of attacks are mainly motivated by the existence of different groups of hackers and crackers present on the network. The current research has progressed in this field; researchers have come across many ways through which attacks have been successfully launched. In early days of its origin, the Internet was not planned to face different vulnerable problems, in this aspect networks are need to protect. In this research paper covers the initiation of the DDoS attacks together with their types, and also deliberate certain model scenarios based on flooding based DDoS attacks to compute its impact on valid users and also we classified the different types of DDoS attacks with their environment and tabulated the results

Inertia and spectral symmetry of the eccentricity matrices of a class of bi-block graphs

The eccentricity matrix of a simple connected graph G is obtained from the distance matrix of G by retaining the largest non-zero distance in each row and column, and the remaining entries are defined to be zero. A bi-block graph is a simple connected graph whose blocks are all complete bipartite graphs with possibly different orders. In this paper, we study the eccentricity matrices of a subclass B (which includes trees) of bi-block graphs. We first find the inertia of the eccentricity matrices of graphs in B, and thereby we characterize graphs in B with odd diameters. Precisely, if G in B with diameter of G greater than three, then we show that the eigenvalues of the eccentricity matrix of G are symmetric with respect to the origin if and only if the diameter of G is odd. Further, we prove that the eccentricity matrices of graphs in B are irreducible.Comment: 26 page

Impact of Entrepreneurial Characteristics on the Organizational Development of the Small Business Entrepreneurs

    Get PDF
The main objective for the study is to assess how the characteristics influence the organizational development. To measure entrepreneurial characteristics, achievement competences, planning competences and power competences were selected as independent variables and their impact on organizational development   was measured through a sample of 105 entrepreneurs from Kandy district by using random sampling technique. The Regression and correlation analysis was done to find out the contribution of each variable. The correlation analysis showed that the characteristics of the small business entrepreneurs in Kandy district had significant relationship with organizational development. According to the regression model, achievement competencies and power competencies are of low level contribution to organizational development whereas the planning competencies contribute comparatively more. This study concluded that characteristics significantly influenced organizational development. Key words: competencies, entrepreneurship, organizational developmen

271-275Branch canker caused by Macrophoma sp. is the most wide spread and serious stem disease of tea plants. In this study, we tried to determine the bioefficacy of different chemical fungicides and indigenous biological strains on branch canker disease in tea plant under glasshouse condition. The infected stem portions were collected and identified through 18S rRNA molecular methods. Bacterial strains were isolated from different tea growing areas and confirmed by16S rRNA technique. Fungal biocontrol strains were obtained from repository Microbial Type Culture Collection and Gene Bank(MTCC), Chandigarh, India.Among the fungicides tested, benomyl (70%) showed better results followed by copper oxychloride (65%). The biocontrol agentsBacillus sp. (50%) and Trichoderma viride (50%) yielded significant results. Pseudomonas sp. showed moderate activity (45%)followed by Trichoderma harzianum (30%). The integrated combination approach,propiconazole/Bacillus amyloliquefaciensand propiconazole/B. subtilis recorded effective control against branch canker disease under greenhouse condition followed by hexaconazole/B.amyloliquefaciens.Combination of fungicides companion (0.70), hexaconazole (0.63) and propiconazole (0.67) were found to be most effective . The organic fungicide tricure gave satisfactory control followed by Gliocladiumvirens against branch canker disease

Multiple-input Multiple-output Radar Waveform Design Methodologies

    Get PDF
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is currently an active area of research. The MIMO techniques have been well studied for communications applications where they offer benefits in multipath fading environments. Partly inspired by these benefits, MIMO techniques are applied to radar and they offer a number of advantages such as improved resolution and sensitivity. It allows the use of transmitting multiple simultaneous waveforms from different phase centers. The employed radar waveform plays a key role in determining the accuracy, resolution, and ambiguity in performing tasks such as determining the target range, velocity, shape, and so on. The excellent performance promised by MIMO radar can be unleashed only by proper waveform design. In this article, a survey on MIMO radar waveform design is presented. The goal of this paper is to elucidate the key concepts of waveform design to encourage further research on this emerging technology.Defence Science Journal, 2013, 63(4), pp.393-401, DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.14429/dsj.63.253
