Development of the industrial sector in Bali each year have significant growth, one of which is a cloth bag industry. Cloth bags in many industries due to Denpasar Denpasar is the capital and center for domestic and international tourism destination. In general industrial cloth bag in Denpasar have several constraints such similar industries who have a strong capital still dominates in the process of marketing and production processes, intense competition, and the use of labor is not optimal, highly influential on production. This study aims to evaluate the performance of industrial cloth bag, knowing the nature of economies of scale and industrial production of cloth bags in the city of Denpasar. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the transformation of the Cobb Douglas models. The results showed, that the industrial economies of scale in Denpasar cloth bags are increasing returns to scale. Nature fabric bag production is labor-intensive. Partial and simultaneous labor and capital significantly influence industrial production of cloth bags in the city of Denpasar

Human development is essentially the process of expanding human choices. Human Development Index is an indicator of the level of The Public Welfare. In terms of balancing funds and direct Purchasing, the purpose of administration is to increase service standards and make the public welfare become better, which can be seen from the human development index as an indicator of public welfare. Economic growth is important to maintain the welfare of the people, but the growth is not the end of the human development. The purpose this study was to determine the role of direct purchasing in moderating the influence of the balancing funds to public welfare at the regency / city in the province of Bali. This study uses secondary data sourced from Statistics Center Corporation which were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with moderating variable. The analysis result showed that the Balanced Fund positively and was significant on public welfare, direct purchasing influenced positively and was significant on Public Welfare, while direct purchasing was not a moderating variable that could determine how much a direct role in moderating the influance of balancing funds to the public welfare

Multiple informal imperial connections and the transfer of accountancy to Ethiopia (1905 to 2011)

The accounting history literature expounds the role of imperial connection on the transfer of Western accountancy concepts and practices to developing countries. An emerging theme within this literature is the shift in imperial power from Britain to USA over the last century and the ramifications of this shift on accountancy globally. Using a framework developed by prior research for investigating the transfer of accountancy across countries, this study examines historical developments of accounting practice, education and professional training in Ethiopia (from 1905 to 2011) in the light of the country’s interactions with Britain and the USA. These interactions facilitated Ethiopia’s continued importation of British accountancy practice and professional training contemporaneously with importation of accounting education from the USA. Over the past two decades, Ethiopia has been undertaking accounting reforms as part of economic policy reforms in pursuit of neo-liberal economic ideals. In response to shifting priorities of transnational actors, Ethiopia continued trialling policy initiatives that are yet to yield a stable equilibrium with coherent links of accounting education, practice and professional training

ANALYTICAL DOCUMENTATION OF TRADITIONAL PRACTICES AND FARMER INNOVATIONS IN AGRICULTURAL WATER MANAGEMENT IN TWO TRADITIONAL IRRIGATION SCHEMES IN NORTH-WEST ETHIOPIA

N° ISBN - 978-2-7380-1284-5International audienceThe farmers have been continuously experimenting informally and innovating new practices by using their indigenous knowledge since the dawn of agriculture to adjust to their circumstances so that they can maximize or optimize benefits from the use of their natural, human and financial resources. Some innovations and adoption may take place on farms of individual farmers but quite often action leads to large-scale adoption. Results of such innovations lead to practices, which are in most cases sustainable, practical and within the limits of their capabilities. Through century old practices, farmers of Amhara Region have used their indigenous knowledge to innovate sustainable irrigation practices to address their water management needs. As the Amhara Regional State Government is emphasizing on developing irrigation-based agriculture to attain food security at household and State levels, it is important that appropriate technologies are available for adoption by the farmers. Through the assistance of the local level agricultural offices, successful traditional schemes were identified and water users and the leaders (water committee) of such schemes were discussed using informal tools and semi-structured interviewing. An iterative process was used to seeking clarifications from the water users on new questions and issues. The paper also discusses opportunities for further strengthening these practices and integrating the knowledge of farmer's innovations in formal research

LPD is a form of non-formal financial institution whose role has becoming very important in Bali. As credit dealer, LPD has several problems regarding its debtor and creditor which causes non-performing loans. This study discusses the causes of credit, the impact of sanction and rules from Balinese traditional custom, differences in return on asset (ROA) between LPDs which applied traditional customs and rules in all LPDs on Tembuku districts. We used the principal-agent theory to determine the differences on ROA between LPDs who applies the traditional custom and those who do not. We found out that there\u27s differences between the two. This study also found out that the biggest impact of sanction from traditional customs to failing debtor are psychological pressure and embarrassment

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the most important part in the economy. Many government efforts to assist the development of SMEs by providing a forum for businesses in the form of credit / loan capital is expected to encourage businesses to increase revenue. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of their own capital, business location and loan capital directly and the indirect effect between equity and income through the business premises against the loan capital. This research was conducted in all districts in Tabanan. Research carried out by conducting a survey with a questionnaire. The data used in this study are primary data, while the analysis method used is the analysis of lane or path analysis to determine the effect, directly and Sobel test to determine the effect indirectly. The analysis showed the capital itself has a positive influence on capital loans and business location has a positive influence on the loan capital. Business location and loan capital has a positive effect on income. The coefficient of determination total at about 85 percent is explained by the model and the remaining 15 percent is explained by other variables outside the model

Water stress due to drought is probably the most significant abiotic factor limiting plant and also crop growth and development. This paper reviewed the effect of drought stress on crop production from morphological to molecular levels, Drought resistance in crop plants, and managing drought stress by production of appropriate plant genotypes together with the adjustment of agronomic practice with the objectives; to review the impacts of drought stress on crop production and possible breeding method to improve crop response and to review different drought management mechanism of the crop. The effect of drought on yield is highly complex and involves processes as diverse as reproductive organs, gametogenesis, fertilization, embryogenesis, and seed development. Drought-induced yield reduction has been reported in many crop species, which depends upon the severity and duration of the stress period. Water stress during vegetative or early reproductive growth usually reduces yield by reducing the number of seeds in soybean and canola, Inmaize, water stress reduced yield by delaying silking, thus increasing the anthesis-to-silking interval. Plant drought tolerance can be managed by adopting strategies such as mass screening and breeding,marker-assisted selection and exogenous application of hormones seed priming osmoprotectants and using silicon tossed or growing plants, as well as engineering for drought resistance. Identification of drought-related quantitative trait loci (QTLs)coupled with marker-assisted selection has shown some positive results. Transgenic technologies promise to make progress in breeding for drought tolerance through a more fundamental understanding of underlying mechanisms of drought tolerance and identifying potential candidate genes. These new approaches provide opportunities to direct the continued breeding strategies of genotypes giving stable yields under drought stress
