The most prominent of them are product approach, process approach and genre process approach; these approaches 01 paved an instructional environment for learners in class room. The basic purpose of researcher to conduct this study is to investigate the effectiveness of these approaches on the writing skill of students at intermediate level. A quasi experimental study was conducted where one hundred and five students of Govt. college of Samnabad had participated in three and half month writing session, in this session different activities had been applied. To figure out the results pre and post- test were conducted. It is found that the genre process approach has more affirmative effect on the writing skill of students

    Human gait recognition system identifies individuals based on their biometric traits. A human’s biometric features can be grouped into physiologic or behavioral traits. Biometric traits, such as the face [1], ears [2], iris [3], finger prints, passwords, and tokens, require highly accurate recognition and a well-controlled human interaction to be effective. In contrast, behavioral traits such as voice, signature, and gait do not require any human interaction and can be collected in a hidden and non-invasive mode with a camera system at a low resolution. In comparison with other physiological traits, one of the main advantages of gait analysis is the collection of data from a certain distance. However, gait is less powerful than physiological traits, yet it still has widespread application in surveillance for unfavorable situations.     Relationship between Parental Involvement and Students’ Performance in Secondary Schools

    The study was an intention to find out the correlation between students’ performance and parental involvement at secondary level. The population includes all the public sector secondary schools in district Faisalabad. Fifty schools were selected randomly. Data were collected from parents of the 9th class students with the help of questionnaire Parental Involvement Inventory [PII]. The six factors of PII were also correlated with the academic performance of students. The performance of students was taken from the results of the 9th class. Data were analyzed by applying Pearson r. The results revealed that there was strong positive and significant relationship between parental involvement and academic performance of students. All the indicators were also positive and strongly correlated with the academic performance. It was evident that the parents of female students had strong association with their studies as compared with parents of male students. In the same way, parents of urban areas and science students had great influence on the progress of their students as compared with parents of rural and arts students

    Effect of Teachers’ Competencies on Scholars’ Academic Achievement and Satisfaction

    The current research paper is an attempt to investigate the effect of teachers’ competencies on academic achievement and satisfaction of MPhil students. Effect is a change which is a result or consequence of an action or other cause. Obtaining students’ satisfaction and academic achievement as a result of teachers’ competencies is one of the prime objectives of higher educational institutions. Institution failing to get the desired competencies among the learners effect their reputation and students’ intake in future. The academic performance of low performer scholars resulted in quitting the degree. This study employed quantitative approach to test the hypotheses. Forty MPhil scholars from GC University Faisalabad were the sample of the study using census survey. Self-developed research instrument, Teachers’ Competencies and Scholars’ Satisfaction Scale (TCSSS) with Alpha value .954 were used for survey to collect data. The achievement score was scholars’ final test score in the semester. The teachers’ competence indicators were teacher’s content knowledge, presentation skills, students’ teacher interaction and modes of assessment. T-test, Pearson r, and ANCOVA were used for data analysis. The results showed that teacher’s knowledge of subject contributed to scholars’ satisfaction and achievement. Female scholars rate the teachers more competent than their male fellows. It was recommended that the scholars’ performance may be improved by using additional class tests and worksheets

    Outcome of Manual Traction in Patients with Cervicogenic Dizziness and Neck Pain

    Objective:  Symptoms of cervicogenic dizziness include instability, unsteadiness, confusion, neck soreness, and limited cervical range of motion (ROM). We evaluated the outcome of manual traction in patients presenting with dizziness and neck pain. Materials and Methods:   50 patients included who had dizziness and neck pain with a reduced range of cervical motion. Patients had sessions of manual traction after pre-treatment evaluation. Patients included in the study after history and physical examination were sent to the otorhinology department to rule out the vestibular cause of dizziness.  Patients were sent to the Physiotherapy department for manual traction. Pain and dizziness were assessed from VAS and DHI scores. Results:  There were 28 male and 22 female patients. The mean age of the patients was 23.92 ± 11.39 years. The mean VAS scores (dizziness) were 46, 31, and 14 before treatment, at one week, and at one month, respectively. The mean VAS scores (pain) were 40, 21, and 8 before treatment, at one week, and at one month, respectively. The mean DHI scores (for dizziness disability) were 47.5, 34, and 21, at one week and at one month, respectively. There existed a significant difference (p < 0.00001) between the VAS and DHI scores before the treatment and post-treatment of follow-up at one week and at one month. Conclusion:  Patients with cervicogenic dizziness who were treated with manual traction improved considerably in terms of dizziness severity, pain relief, and a low score on the dizziness handicap index, indicating better psychological and functional well-being.     Early Versus Delayed Feeding in Paediatric Patients Following Stoma Reversal in a Resource Limited Environment

    Introduction: Institution of early enteral nutrition is essential after stoma reversal. There is no consensus on the time feeding should be started after closure of a stoma in children. It is established that after stoma reversal early achievement of full feed and early discharge affects the overall cost in resource limited countries. Materials and Methods: This Randomized control trial was conducted in the Paediatric Surgery Department of Services Hospital, Lahore. Over a period of 1 year, from April 2016 to March 2017, a total of 100 cases were included.  In group A, early feeding (after 36 to 48hours) and in group B delayed (after 5days) feeding was given to the patients. Time for restoration of full feed and length of hospital stay and complications were compared in both groups. Each patient was observed in the ward till discharge and followed up to 30 days in the out-patient department. The data was recorded and analyzed in SPSS version 20. Independent sample t-test was applied to obtain the p-value for comparing the means. P-value ≤ 0.05 was considered significant. Results:  In both groups age, weight and etiology of stoma was comparable.  The full feed was achieved within 56.66 Â± 7.77 hours in group A and 156.76 ± 7.96 hours in group B (P<0.005). Mean length of hospital stay was 5.84 ± 0.84 days in group A, while it was 9.50 ± 0.76 days in group B (P<0.005). Conclusion: Early enteral feeding after stoma reversal is well tolerated and beneficial. It is suggested that early feeding protocol should be encouraged in a resource limited environment
