Import 22/07/2015Tato práce se zabývá přístupností internetové prezentace. Jejím cílem je vytvoření návrhu přístupné internetové prezentace pro nevidomé a slabozraké. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na zrakově handicapované uživatele, jejich chování a nástroje, které používají při návštěvě webových stránek. Dále jsou v teoretické části zpracovány metodiky, které jsou nezbytné pro tvorbu přístupných webových stránek a nástroje pro ověření přístupnosti webových stránek. V praktické části je pak samotné řešení návrhu, při jehož tvorbě byly použity metodiky jako například WCAG 2.0 či WAI-ARIA. V této části je také rozpracován grafický návrh webových stránek přizpůsobený zrakově postiženým uživatelům.The bachelor’s thesis is aimed to accessibility of the internet presentation. Its goal is create accessible internet presentation for blind and purblind people. The theoretical part is focused on visually disabled users, their behavior and the tools they use when visiting websites. In the theoretical part is also described methodologies that are necessary for the creating accessible websites and tools to verify the accessibility of websites. In the practical part is the design solution, in whose were used methodologies such as WCAG 2.0 and WAI-ARIA. From a Northern Home to a Southern School: Cultural Imperialists or Just Stubborn Yankees

The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the cultural influences on the lives of northern teachers in southern schools. During the 1860s, white, northern, middle-class women traveled to southern homes to begin and maintain schools for the recently freed slaves. Each woman carried with her an independent set of cultural systems that predetermined her perspective for educating the African American students. Furthermore, the northern relief agencies, Freedmen\u27s Bureau agents, southern white citizens, and southern freedmen all had their own opinions for the education of the students. Although much time has elapsed between the 1860s and 2013, the same topics and contextual forces are again relevant to northern teachers who embark on new careers in southern schools. Although the Emancipation Proclamation symbolically freed millions of slaves, equal opportunities and conditions were not immediately granted to the freedmen. Instead, teachers and relief workers supported northern, Protestant goals for the economy of the nation that required the continued labor of the freedmen in fields. While conflicts arose between members of both races regarding the intentions of the northern teachers, the women also challenged the traditional role for the 19th century woman in both northern and southern society. As the female teachers navigated their own perceptions of race and gender, religious, economic, and political institutions also impacted the daily curriculum of the classroom through systems of control and obedience. Despite over one hundred and fifty years of time between the arrivals of the first northern teachers during the Civil War, many conditions stay the same in southern schools. The connections made between past and present are built around my own experiences in the southern classroom, yet they can be applied to the lives of other northern women navigating today\u27s southern classrooms

Quantifying disease activity in fatty-infiltrated skeletal muscle by IDEAL-CPMG in Duchenne muscular dystrophy

The purpose of this study was to explore the use of iterative decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation Carr-Purcell-Meiboom-Gill (IDEAL-CPMG) to simultaneously measure skeletal muscle apparent fat fraction and water T2 (T2,w) in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). In twenty healthy volunteer boys and thirteen subjects with DMD, thigh muscle apparent fat fraction was measured by Dixon and IDEAL-CPMG, with the IDEAL-CPMG also providing T2,w as a measure of muscle inflammatory activity. A subset of subjects with DMD was followed up during a 48-week clinical study. The study was in compliance with the Patient Privacy Act and approved by the Institutional Review Board. Apparent fat fraction in the thigh muscles of subjects with DMD was significantly increased compared to healthy volunteer boys (p <0.001). There was a strong correlation between Dixon and IDEAL-CPMG apparent fat fraction. Muscle T2,w measured by IDEAL-CPMG was independent of changes in apparent fat fraction. Muscle T2,w was higher in the biceps femoris and vastus lateralis muscles of subjects with DMD (p <0.05). There was a strong correlation (p <0.004) between apparent fat fraction in all thigh muscles and six-minute walk distance (6MWD) in subjects with DMD. IDEAL-CPMG allowed independent and simultaneous quantification of skeletal muscle fatty degeneration and disease activity in DMD. IDEAL-CPMG apparent fat fraction and T2,w may be useful as biomarkers in clinical trials of DMD as the technique disentangles two competing biological processes

Computational Modelling of Vibrations and Noise in an Asynchronous Electric Motor

Diplomová práce se zabývá výpočtovým modelováním vibrací a hluku asynchronního elektromotoru. Teoretické části popisují složení a vznik sil v elektromotoru. Dále je stručně popsán akustický tlak a jeho zpracování pro praktický výstup ať už měření, tak výpočtů. Praktická část se zabývá výpočtovým modelováním vibrací a hluku elektromotoru z dvou různých principů vzniku a následně jejich sdružené analýze. Závěrem je pak srovnání s experimentem a označení dominantních fyzikálních parametrů na vznik vibrací a hluku.The master thesis deals with computational modeling of vibrations and noise of an asynchronous electric motor. The theoretical parts describe the composition and formation of forces in the electric motor. Furthermore, the sound pressure and its processing for practical output of both measurements and calculations are briefly described. The practical part deals with computational modeling of vibrations and noise of an electric motor from two different principles of origin and their associated analysis. Proposal of variants of technological process of implementation of a roof in a residential house

Import 23/07/2015Bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem variant zastřešení bytového domu a vyhodnocením těchto návrhů podle ceny, časové náročnosti a tepelně technických vlastností. Pro zastřešení bytového domu jsou navrženy tři varianty jednoplášťové střechy. U těchto variant jsou vypracovány technologické postupy, řádkové harmonogramy, položkové rozpočty a tepelně technické posouzení. Na základě vyhodnocení získaných parametrů je zvolena vhodná varianta zastřešení. Tato práce také obsahuje technickou zprávu řešeného bytového domu a jeho výkresovou dokumentaci.The bachelor thesis deals with the proposal of variants of the roof on residential house and evaluation of these proposals by price, time management and technical properities. There are 3 single-shell roof variants designed for the roof on residential house. For these variants were developed technological process, line schedule, budgets and thermo-technical assessment. The siutable option of roofing has been selected according to results. Problematics of Lamb Wave Generation in Plate Structures

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou generace Lambových vln s využitím kontaktní a bezkontaktní vazby. Teoretická část práce se věnuje základům vlnové teorie se zaměřením se na Lambovy vlny, pojem grupové a fázové rychlosti a v neposlední řadě rovněž na možné způsoby samotné generace Lambových vln. V praktické části se autor zaměřuje na metodiku návrhu budícího signálu pro generaci Lambových vln včetně prezentace následně realizovaných experimentálních měření s využitím kontaktní a bezkontaktní vazby.Bachelor thesis deals with problematics of Lamb waves generation using contact and air-coupled technique. Theoretical part is focused on the fundamentals of wave theory including Lamb waves phenomena, principle of phase and group velocity and, last bud ton least, on the general methods of Lamb wave generation.
