In the article it is provided a modern state of the problem of the information security providing of a schoolchild’s personality, there are disclosed several supporting aspects as a guaranty of the remaining of the society spirituality and cultural intergenerational continuity. They bring a comparative analysis of the electronic mass media impact results on the process of thinking, forming of the young people value system of two dynamically developing countries — Kazakhstan and China

Optical phase conjugation with less than a photon per degree of freedom

    Get PDF
We demonstrate experimentally that optical phase conjugation can be used to focus light through strongly scattering media even when far less than a photon per optical degree of freedom is detected. We found that the best achievable intensity contrast is equal to the total number of detected photons, as long as the resolution of the system is high enough. Our results demonstrate that phase conjugation can be used even when the photon budget is extremely low, such as in high-speed focusing through dynamic media, or imaging deep inside tissue

The influence of line tension on the formation of liquid bridges

The formation of liquid bridges between a planar and conical substrates is analyzed macroscopically taking into account the line tension. Depending on the value of the line tension coefficient \tau and geometric parameters of the system one observes two different scenarios of liquid bridge formation upon changing the fluid state along the bulk liquid-vapor coexistence. For \tau > \tau * (\tau * < 0) there is a first-order transition to a state with infinitely thick liquid bridge. For \tau < \tau * the scenario consists of two steps: first there is a first-order transition to a state with liquid bridge of finite thickness which upon further increase of temperature is followed by continuous growth of the thickness of the bridge to infinity. In addition to constructing the relevant phase diagram we examine the dependence of the width of the bridge on thermodynamic and geometric parameters of the system.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure

Planting and harvesting innovation - an analysis of Samsung Electronics

    Get PDF
This study explores how firms manage the entire life cycle of innovation projects based on the framework of harvesting and planting innovation. While harvesting innovation seeks new products in the expectation of financial performance in the short term, planting innovation pursues creating value over a long time period. Without proper management of the process of planting and harvesting innovation, firms with limited resources may not be successful in launching innovative new products to seize a momentum in high tech industries. To examine this issue, the case of Samsung Electronics (SE), now an electronics giant originated from a former developing country, is analyzed. SE has shown to effectively utilize co-innovation to maintain numerous planting and harvesting innovation projects. Both researchers and practitioners would be interested in learning about how SE shared risks of innovation investment with external partners at the early stage of innovation cycles
