    The Use of Problem Based Instruction Model to Motivated the Independent Biological Learning Toward the Student of SMP 16 Bandar Lampung in Academic Year of 2004/2005

    This is a colaborative action research which carried out toward student of SMP Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. The aim of this research was enhancing the self learning motivation by using Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model. The research conducted in 2 cycles, using the criteria of teacher 's performance and student 's ability toward biological learning The data awas then analized and intepreted to show the improving teacher performance for each cycle.The result showed that the teacher was a good fascilitator (score 2,98 in cycle I and 2,93 in cycle), so it 's able to enhace the self learning motivation of a student, indicated with the increasing point of the readiness of study, the higly motivated in answer and question interaction, ability in answering the questions, giving opinion, creative, and highly initiative to study. That self learning motivation then gives rise to the average class mark even its equitability thus showed the better teaching and learning proccesses

    This research was aimed to describe the misconceptions and factors that can affected students. The samples were 8th grade student of SMP in sub-district Punggur, Central Lampung that was selected by purposive sampling. The design of this research was descriptive. Data was collected by written test of identification of student misconception and questionnaire. Data misconception analyzed using Certainty of Respons Index (CRI) and factors analyzed using percentage formula and Pearson Product Moment Correlation test. Study result showed that the highest percentage of understanding level to the concept of photosynthesis and plant respiration was misconception that was 58,76%. The students who had misconception on photosynthesis concept were 64,05% with high category. The result of Correlation test showed that was correlation with the opposite direction between students and teachers methods with misconception.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa dan faktor yang mempengaruhi miskonsepsi. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP se-Kecamatan Punggur Kabupaten Lampung Tengah berjumlah 289 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriftif sederhana. Pengumpulan data dengan soal tes tertulis identifikasi miskonsepsi siswa dan pemberian angket kepada siswa dan guru. Data miskonsepsi dianalisis menggunakan metode Certainty of Respons Index (CRI) dan faktor dianalisis menggunakan rumus persentase dan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa paling tinggi persentasenya adalah kategori Miskonsepsi sebesar 58,76%. Siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi pada konsep fotosintesis sebesar 63,05% dengan kategori tinggi. Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya korelasi dengan arah korelasi berlawanan arah antara siswa dan metode guru mengajar dengan miskonsepsi.Kata kunci: Certainty of Response Index (CRI), fotosintesis, miskonsepsi, respirasi tumbuha

    Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Lembar Kerja Siswa Materi Interaksi Makhluk Hidup dengan Lingkungan

    The objectives of this study are ( 1 ) to analyze the potential and conditions for the development of worksheets as IPA teaching materials chapter interactions living creatures with the environment, ( 2 ) analyze the characteristics of IPA worksheet, (3)  produce worksheets as IPA teaching materials chapter interactions living creatures with the environment.The study used research and development approach, conducted in SMP Negeri 4 Gunung Sugih, SMP Negeri 1 Gunung Sugih and SMP Trijaya. Conclusions of research are : ( 1 ) SMP Negeri 4 Gunung Sugih potentially for the development worksheet as IPA teaching materials, ( 2 ) development results in the form worksheet as IPA teaching materials, ( 3 ) worksheet as IPA teaching materials are effective used as a medium of learning, which is evidenced by the gain value in the treatment class is 0.54 which is better than the control class gain that value was 0.36.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) menganalisis potensi dan kondisi untuk pengembangan LKS IPA sebagai Bahan Ajar IPA pada materi  interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungan, (2) menganalisis karakteristik Bahan Ajar LKS IPA, (3) menghasilkan Bahan Ajar LKS IPA yang digunakan sebagai sumber belajar IPA materi  interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungan.Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan, dilakukan di SMP N 1 Gunung Sugih, SMPN 4 Gunung Sugih dan SMP Tri Jaya Gunung Sugih. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah: (1) SMP Negeri 4 Gunung Sugih berpotensi untuk pengembangan bahan ajar LKS IPA, (2) karakteristik bahan ajar LKS IPA yang dikembangkan adalah LKS Inkuiri dimana siswa menemukan sendiri konsep dan prinsip dari materi yang dipelajari, (3) hasil dari pengembangan ini adalah berupa produk bahan ajar LKS IPA yang divalidasi oleh ahli media, ahli materi dan ahli desain pembelajaran

    MISKONSEPSI SISWA PADA MATERI PROSES PEROLEHAN NUTRISI DAN TRANSFORMASI ENERGI TUMBUHAN HIJAU

    This research was aimed to describe  the misconceptions and factors that can affected students. The samples were  8th grade students of SMPN 9 Bandar Lampung that was selected by random sampling. The design of this research was descriptive. Data was collected by written test and analyzed with Certainty of Response Index, and student’s questionnaire were analyzed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation test. Study result showed that percentage of students on all concept was 61,10%. Percentages of misconceptions students on photosynthesis, respiration and photosynthesis and respiration were 57,55%, 64,96%, and  62,39%. Misconception was influenced by student interest in learning factor. This misconception on 8th grade students of SMPN 9 Bandar Lampung  was high category in photosynthesis and respiration and influenced by student low interest in learning. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa dan faktor yang mempengaruhi miskonsepsi siswa. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 9 Bandar Lampung dipilih secara random sampling. Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif sederhana. Pengumpulan data dengan tes tertulis dan dianalisis menggunakan Certainty of Response Index (CRI), kemudian angket siswa dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa miskonsepsi pada keseluruhan materi sebesar 61,10%. Siswa yang miskonsepsi pada konsep Fotosintesis, Respirasi, serta Fotosintesis dan Respirasi sebesar 57,55%, 64,96%, dan 62,39%. Miskonsepsi dipengaruhi faktor minat belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, bahwa siswa kelas VIII SMPN 9 Bandar Lampung yang mengalami miskonsepsi yang termasuk dalam kategori “tinggi” pada konsep Fotosintesis dan Respirasi, dan dipengaruhi oleh minat belajar siswa yang rendah. Kata kunci: Certainty Of Respons Index, fotosintesis, miskonsepsi, respiras

    The Effectiveness of Students’ Worksheet of Virtual Laboratory Practice on Dynamic Electricity to Improve Science Process Skill

    The purpose of this research is to produce virtual laboratory practicum students' worksheet using PhETsimulations media, which is attractive, useful, and effective to improve students' science process skill. From the potency and problemsgained from the analysis of Physics teachers' responses of Senior High Schools in Lampung Province, Indonesia, 40% of Senior High Schools have laboratory equipment and facilities for real practicum and 80% of Physics teachers need students' worksheet despite in the virtual laboratory forms. Based on the students' need analysis, 100%students need practicum activities. The data collecting technique used wasassessment sheet of material and media experts and questionnaires of attractiveness and usefulness of students' worksheets. The test involved 68 State and Private Senior High School Students inLampung Province, Indonesia. It was obtained that the means of pre-test result = 55 and 44, and post-test result = 89 and 82. The usefulness and attractivenesswere (86,4%) attractive, (84,7%) useful, and effectiveness with N-Gain (g) 0.80 and 0.75. It is considered high classification to improve students' learning achievement. The effectiveness level in improving science process skill is measured from practicum activity score, hypotheses proposal, experiments, data collecting, and conclusion drawing. The means of N-Gain (g) = 0.7, and it is considered high and effective. At the end of the practicum activity, there was a cognitive assessment of the comprehension test results of dynamic electricity concept from both schools. The means score were 89.33 and 86.67, which means that the scores have fulfilledthe minimum criteria of mastery learning (75)

    Efektivitas Penggunaan Bahan Ajar E-book Interaktif Dalam Menumbuhkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa

    This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of interactive e-book in fostering students critical thinking skills,at topic of the pollution impact for life. The population in this study were students of grade VII MTs Negeri 2 Pesawaran in teaching year 2015-2016, and the class gradeVIIA and VIIB as samples. This research method was quasi-experimental with the matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. Effectiveness was measured by n-Gain test results that were analyzed by t-test,students\u27 response to interactive e-book and student activity.The results showed that the use of interactive e-books quite effectively foster students\u27 critical thinking skills, as evidenced by n-Gain experimental class (0.37) is higher and significantly different than the control class (0.21). The results of the feasibility test of interactive e-book by students 85% (very worthy), as well as the percentage of student activity experimental class (71.50%) was higher than the control class (56.50%). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan e-book interaktif dalam menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, dengan topik dampak pencemaran bagi kehidupan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 2 Pesawaran Tahun Ajar 2015-2016, dengan kelas VIIA dan VIIB sebagai sampel. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan the matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. Efektivitas diukur berdasarkan n-Gain hasil tes yang dianalisis dengan uji-t, respon siswa terhadap e-book interaktif dan aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan e-book interaktif cukup efektif menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, yang dibuktikan dengan n-Gain kelas eksperimen (0,37) lebih tinggi dan berbeda nyata dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol (0,21). Hasil uji kelayakan e-book interaktif oleh siswa 85% (sangat layak), serta persentase aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen (71,50%) lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol (56,50%)

    Efektivitas Iklim Kelas Berbasis Koopertif Untuk Meningkatkan Model Mental Dan Penguasaan Konsep

    This research aims at determining the effectiveness of cooperative-based class climate to improve mental model and the mastery of concept. The method used in this research was quasi experiment with pree-post test design, conducted in the academic year 2016-2017 at SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. The data collecting technique used was observation sheet for the teacher's ability in teaching learning proses and students' activity, guestiannaire for student activities. Mental model and concept mastery data were gained by tes , then analyzed to obtain n-Gain. Result showed that the class climate used has: high effectiveness of teacher's ability in learning management, studen activites and students' response, students' mental model that could be improved into “good” and very good” model mental, students' concept mastery improved with n-Gain category “medium”.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas iklim kelas Berbasis kooperatif untuk meningkatkan model mental dan penguasaan konsep. Pemilihan sempel penelitian dilakukan secara acak dari 11 kelas pararel kelas VIII SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII H dan VIII J sebagai kelas eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pree-post test dilaksanakan pada Tahun Ajaran 2016-2017 di SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tehnik observasi untuk kemampuan guru dalam pembelajaran dan aktifitas siswa, angket untuk respon siswa. Data model mental dan penguasaan konsep diperoleh dengan test, kemudian dianalisis untuk memperoleh n-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa iklim kelas yang digunakan memiliki: Keefektifitasan yang tinggi dari kemampuan guru dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran, aktifitas siswa dan respon siswa, model mental siswa yang dapat ditingkatkan kearah model mental “baik” dan “baik sekali”, penguasaan konsep siswa meningkat dengan n-Gain berkatagori “sedang”

    PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH BERDASARKAN GENDER TERHADAP BERPIKIR RASIONAL SISWA

    This research purpose was to know the influence of PBL based on the gender of the student rational thinking and the improvement. The quantitative data were rational thinking skills of students based on gender that were obtained from the score of pretest, posttest and N-gain. The qualitative data were students learning activity data. The results of study indicated that the application of PBL model could improve the skills of rational thinking female with N-gain of 54,29 and male students with N-gain of 41,37. The ability of female and male students from each indicators of rational thinking for problem-solving skills as an indicator of the highest but female had an average higher than male students. Average results of student learning activities showed that the percentage of student activity in females (76.62%) was higher than male students (52.26%). Thus, the application of PBL model based on gender have a significant effect in improving the rational thinking skills and students learning activities.Tujuan penelitian mengetahui pengaruh model PBM berdasarkan gender terhadap berpikir rasional siswa dan peningkatannya. Data kuantitatif berupa keterampilan berpikir rasional berdasarkan gender diperoleh dari nilai pretest, posttest dan N-gain. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar. Hasil penelitian penerapan PBM meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir rasional perempuan N-gain 54,29 dan laki-laki N-gain 41,37. Kemampuan perempuan dan laki-laki setiap indikator kemampuan berpikir rasional untuk kemampuan memecahkan masalah sebagai indikator yang paling tinggi namun siswa perempuan memiliki rata-rata lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki. Hasil rata-rata aktivitas belajar memperlihatkan persentase aktivitas siswa perempuan (76,62%) lebih tinggi daripada laki-laki (52,26%). Dengan demikian penerapan model PBM berdasarkan gender berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir rasional dan aktivitas belajar siswa.Kata kunci : gender, keterampilan berpikir rasional, PB
