This study examines the anteceden of whistleblowing behavior by the professional commitment and anticipatory socialization student audit. It's extend Elias (2008) and criticizes on the mismatch between the hypothesis with testing tools are used, so that the results can't answer hypothetical appropriately. The used data is 104 of accounting students who have taken the course of auditing. Hypothesis testing used multiple regression test and t-test, with the previous factor analysis. The result indicates that professional commitment have significant effect on whistleblowing. The results also showed no significant difference to the level of anticipatory socialization respondents to whistleblowing. This study provides in addition to the audit literature by doing different test levels of professional commitment and anticipatory socialization student audit of whistleblowing behavior.DOI: 10.15408/ess.v4i1.196

This study was to find out the limitation of existing system in accessing student's results, find out new user requirements and measure the system usability. The respondents are all UUM students as they have experience in using the existing UUM application for checking academic result and they are also potential users of using this system. This study found that the system is acceptable and usable

Christian teaching and tradition forbids divorce, as in the Christian Scriptures is written inMatthew 19: 6 "So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, letno one separate. " Likewise with the Batak Toba oppose divorce. Sirang so sirang is avoidedthroughout the Batak Toba. The impact it is very detrimental to both the families of both the menand women of the party. Wedding costs are pretty much spent, especially women sinamot costsshould be considered in order to avoid divorce. Mental development of children is also supposedto inhibit them to divorce. Batak Toba delivered through Hula-hula ie Bones says tung naso soHamu marsirang, so sinirang hamatean ni "(can not divorce except as separated by death ordeath). Customs and religion that forbids divorce no longer feared by Batak Toba society ashappened in the district of Bangko Pusako where there are 6 couples Batak Toba ethnicChristian experience Sirang so sirang (separation not separated). Factors causing them toexperience sirang so sirang (separation not separated) is social media, infidelity, not havingoffspring, shifting the role of parents and domestic violence. Some parents of the sixth couple toreconcile that their families back together and there are also parents who support their childrento get married again because the partner can not have offspring. Keywords : Sirang so sirang, Marriage, Batak Tob

Where to begin? The best publications for newcomers to ethnopharmacology

    Get PDF
Have you ever tried to enter a new field of research or to get a basic overview? Of course, we all have. However, where does one begin when entering a new field of research? This mini-review offers a concise (and certainly not comprehensive) overview on the fast-evolving field of ethnopharmacology. Based on a survey in which researchers provided feedback on the publications they find most relevant in the field and an assessment of what publications have been particularly relevant in the field, this paper offers a review of the 30 best papers and books for newcomers in the field. They cover the relevant areas within ethnopharmacology and give examples from all the core regions where ethnopharmacological research is being conducted. Different and sometimes contrasting approaches and theoretical frameworks are included, as well as publications reviewing important methods. With this, basic knowledge on related fields such as ethnobotany, anthropology, fieldwork methods and pharmacognosy is also incorporated. This paper is an invitation to explore fundamental aspects of the field and to understand the particular challenges faced by researchers newly entering this multi- and transdisciplinary field, and to provide them with examples of particularly stimulating research

RWMSI (Read Exclusive Write Exclusive Modified Shared Invalid) Cache Coherence Protocol

This paper proposes a novel coherence protocol RWMSI (Read exclusive Write exclusive Modified Shared Invalid) that merges “snooping and directory – based coherence protocols “and enhanced them depending on the state of “MESI snooping protocol “. “ Coherence” is implemented with “snooping or directory based protocols “. Because of the shared bus the “ Snooping protocols “ are not scalable , while directory protocols incur directory storage overhead , frequent indirections , and are more prone to design bugs

Textile Diamond Dipole and Artificial Magnetic Conductor Performance under Bending, Wetness and Specific Absorption Rate Measurements

    Get PDF
Textile diamond dipole and Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) have been proposed and tested under wearable and body centric measurements. The proposed antenna and AMC sheet are entirely made of textiles for both the substrate and conducting parts, thus making it suitable for wearable communications. Directive radiation patterns with high gain are obtained with the proposed AMC sheet, hence minimizing the radiation towards the human body. In this study, wearable and body centric measurements are investigated which include bending, wetness and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). Bending is found not to give significant effect to the antenna and AMC performance, as opposed to wetness that yields severe performance distortion. However, the original performance is retrieved once the antenna and AMC dried. Moreover, notable SAR reduction is achieved with the introduction of the AMC sheet, which is appropriate to reduce the radiation that penetrates into human flesh

Screening vaccine formulations for biological activity using fresh human whole blood.

Understanding the relevant biological activity of any pharmaceutical formulation destined for human use is crucial. For vaccine-based formulations, activity must reflect the expected immune response, while for non-vaccine therapeutic agents, such as monoclonal antibodies, a lack of immune response to the formulation is desired. During early formulation development, various biochemical and biophysical characteristics can be monitored in a high-throughput screening (HTS) format. However, it remains impractical and arguably unethical to screen samples in this way for immunological functionality in animal models. Furthermore, data for immunological functionality lag formulation design by months, making it cumbersome to relate back to formulations in real-time. It is also likely that animal testing may not accurately reflect the response in humans. For a more effective formulation screen, a human whole blood (hWB) approach can be used to assess immunological functionality. The functional activity relates directly to the human immune response to a complete formulation (adjuvant/antigen) and includes adjuvant response, antigen response, adjuvant-modulated antigen response, stability, and potentially safety. The following commentary discusses the hWB approach as a valuable new tool to de-risk manufacture, formulation design, and clinical progression
