Delivering quality customer service has emerged as a strategic imperative, one that is increasingly tied to an organizational information system resources, work environment, and capabilities. Drawing upon theories on the IS, organizational behavioral and human psychology at organizational environment, this paper develops a model to investigate the extent to which orgainational environment and operator’s positive psychological traits impacts on their performance in IS delivering customer service. Based on the developed model, this paper hypothesizes how systems satisfaction, and organizational environment mediating through the operator’s psychological perspective influence on their performance. The model is first pilot tested using a total of 51 survey data collected from call center IS of Korea Telecom. This test reveals that constructs are robust and could be used to test the conceptual model and associated hypotheses. Finally, the model would be empirically validated using survey data about call center IS from the same source. Results may shed new light on the assessing operator’s performance associated with organizational IS. The implications of the findings for research and practice are discussed

Myotonic Dystrophy Mimicking Postpolio Syndrome in a Polio Survivor

    Get PDF
We describe a 38-yr-old polio survivor with newly developed weakness from myotonic dystrophy. He suffered muscle atrophy and weakness in his legs as a result of poliomyelitis at the age of 3 yrs. After a stable interval of about 30 yrs, he felt new weakness and fatigue in his legs. Electromyography revealed generalized myotonic discharges, early recruitment, and findings of chronic denervation in his left leg. Genetic testing was consistent with myotonic dystrophy type 1. A biopsy from the right gastrocnemius revealed findings of both myotonic dystrophy and chronic denervation. This case report shows the importance of considering other uncommon conditions in the differential diagnoses of postpolio syndrome

A Study of Parameters Related to the Etch Rate for a Dry Etch Process Using NF 3

The characteristics of the dry etching of SiNx:H thin films for display devices using SF6/O2 and NF3/O2 were investigated using a dual-frequency capacitively coupled plasma reactive ion etching (CCP-RIE) system. The investigation was carried out by varying the RF power ratio (13.56 MHz/2 MHz), pressure, and gas flow ratio. For the SiNx:H film, the etch rates obtained using NF3/O2 were higher than those obtained using SF6/O2 under various process conditions. The relationships between the etch rates and the usual monitoring parameters—the optical emission spectroscopy (OES) intensity of atomic fluorine (685.1 nm and 702.89 nm) and the voltages VH and VL—were investigated. The OES intensity data indicated a correlation between the bulk plasma density and the atomic fluorine density. The etch rate was proportional to the product of the OES intensity of atomic fluorine (I(F)) and the square root of the voltages (Vh+Vl) on the assumption that the velocity of the reactive fluorine was proportional to the square root of the voltages

A Case Report with Lymphangiomatosis of the Colon

The incidence of lymphangiomas in the gastrointestinal tract is low, particularly in the colon and rectum, and most cases are solitary. Lymphangiomatosis of the colon are encountered infrequently with only one report in the English literature, and polypectomy was performed for the diagnosis in that case report. However, trends in the diagnosis of lymphangiomatosis of colon have been changing since the development of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS), and this case is the first in that lymphangiomatosis of the colon was diagnosed without invasive procedures. Here we describe the case of 31-yr-old woman with lymphangiomatosis of the colon with numerous polyposis-like appearing lesions diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasonography and a colonoscopy
