Wiener's theorem on hypergroups
The following theorem on the circle group T is due to Norbert Wiener: If fâL1(T) has non-negative Fourier coefficients and is square integrable on a neighbourhood of the identity, then fâL2(T). This result has been extended to even exponents including p=â, but shown to fail for all other pâ(1,â]. All of this was extended further (appropriately formulated) well beyond locally compact abelian groups. In this paper we prove Wiener's theorem for even exponents for a large class of commutative hypergroups. In addition, we present examples of commutative hypergroups for which, in sharp contrast to the group case, Wiener's theorem holds for all exponents pâ[1,â]. For these hypergroups and the Bessel-Kingman hypergroup with parameter 12 we characterise those locally integrable functions that are of positive type and square-integrable near the identity in terms of amalgam spaces
Automated Point-based Tolerance Analysis Model Creation for Sheet Metal Parts
AbstractThis paper focuses on a concept that shows a way to automatically create a point-based tolerance analysis model out of existing development data. Nowadays solutions for an automated tolerance simulation model creation are using a static approach for the model build-up. For this purpose product-/ production- development data are automatically mapped on preexisting models (e.g. skeleton models). If chances during development process occur, the tolerance simulation models have to be reworked. Today only simple changes in the model can be automated (e.g. change of distribution, tolerance range etc.). A complete new tolerance simulation model build-up process for dynamically changing product-/ production- development information is not possible. To give an application example, tolerance simulation models for sheet metal parts in automotive industry are based on different development data. Before the first simulation model is created (to secure the tolerance concepts etc.), all necessary information have already been developed, e.g. in the automotive industry's development process: part geometry, tolerance information, assembly graph, jig and fixture concept, joining location and measurement points. Thus the automated simulation generation should be possible.First step is to describe an interface for a dynamic model creation in tolerance simulation systems. In a second step preprocessing of development data is necessary to map them into tolerance simulation software restrictions. This delivers a solution to fill the gap between the PDM-/ CAD and the CAT-system. The considered approach for automated tolerance simulation model creation provides the opportunity to build-up the tolerance analysis models highly efficient and almost automatically. Tolerance analysis can then be used to rapidly calculate several options. This offers the possibility to increase the product maturity level at a very early stage of the development process
On Vanishing Theorems For Vector Bundle Valued p-Forms And Their Applications

with . We unify the concepts of -harmonic maps, minimal
hypersurfaces, maximal spacelike hypersurfaces, and Yang-Mills Fields, and
introduce -Yang-Mills fields, -degree, -lower degree, and generalized
Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld fields (with the plus sign or with the minus sign) on
manifolds. When and
the -Yang-Mills field becomes an ordinary Yang-Mills field,
-Yang-Mills field, a generalized Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld field with the plus
sign, and a generalized Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld field with the minus sign on a
manifold respectively. We also introduce the energy functional (resp.
-Yang-Mills functional) and derive the first variational formula of the
energy functional (resp. -Yang-Mills functional) with
applications. In a more general frame, we use a unified method to study the
stress-energy tensors that arise from calculating the rate of change of various
functionals when the metric of the domain or base manifold is changed. These
stress-energy tensors, linked to -conservation laws yield monotonicity
formulae. A "macroscopic" version of these monotonicity inequalities enables us
to derive some Liouville type results and vanishing theorems for forms with
values in vector bundles, and to investigate constant Dirichlet boundary value
problems for 1-forms. In particular, we obtain Liouville theorems for
harmonic maps (e.g. -harmonic maps), and Yang-Mills fields (e.g.
generalized Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld fields on manifolds). We also obtain
generalized Chern type results for constant mean curvature type equations for
forms on and on manifolds with the global doubling property

Can filesharers be triggered by economic incentives? Results of an experiment
Illegal filesharing on the internet leads to considerable financial losses for artists and copyright owners as well as producers and sellers of music. Thus far, measures to contain this phenomenon have been rather restrictive. However, there are still a considerable number of illegal systems, and users are able to decide quite freely between legal and illegal downloads because the latter are still difficult to sanction. Recent economic approaches account for the improved bargaining position of users. They are based on the idea of revenue-splitting between professional sellers and peers. In order to test such an innovative business model, the study reported in this article carried out an experiment with 100 undergraduate students, forming five small peer-to-peer networks.The networks were confronted with different economic conditions.The results indicate that even experienced filesharers hold favourable attitudes towards revenue-splitting.They seem to be willing to adjust their behaviour to different economic conditions
Spin Physics at e^+e^- Colliders
A large number of measurements with polarized beams and/or spin analysis of
final state particles has been performed at the e^+e^- colliders LEP and SLC,
providing important information on the dynamics of high energy interactions. In
this paper three subjects, for which the role of spin studies was particularly
relevant, will be covered: the measurements of the electroweak couplings, the
study of fragmentation dynamics and the search for physics beyond the Standard

An alternative approach to the construction of Schur-Weyl transform
We propose an alternative approach for the construction of the unitary matrix
which performs generalized unitary rotations of the system consisting of
independent identical subsystems (for example spin system). This matrix, when
applied to the system, results in a change of degrees of freedom, uncovering
the information hidden in non-local degrees of freedom. This information can be
used, inter alia, to study the structure of entangled states, their
classification and may be useful for construction of quantum algorithms.Comment: 6 page
Self-consistent description of nuclear compressional modes
Isoscalar monopole and dipole compressional modes are computed for a variety
of closed-shell nuclei in a relativistic random-phase approximation to three
different parametrizations of the Walecka model with scalar self-interactions.
Particular emphasis is placed on the role of self-consistency which by itself,
and with little else, guarantees the decoupling of the spurious
isoscalar-dipole strength from the physical response and the conservation of
the vector current. A powerful new relation is introduced to quantify the
violation of the vector current in terms of various ground-state form-factors.
For the isoscalar-dipole mode two distinct regions are clearly identified: (i)
a high-energy component that is sensitive to the size of the nucleus and scales
with the compressibility of the model and (ii) a low-energy component that is
insensitivity to the nuclear compressibility. A fairly good description of both
compressional modes is obtained by using a ``soft'' parametrization having a

Resonance saturation for four-nucleon operators
In the modern description of nuclear forces based on chiral effective field
theory, four-nucleon operators with unknown coupling constants appear. These
couplings can be fixed by a fit to the low partial waves of neutron-proton
scattering. We show that the so determined numerical values can be understood
on the basis of phenomenological one-boson-exchange models. We also extract
these values from various modern high accuracy nucleon-nucleon potentials and
demonstrate their consistency and remarkable agreement with the values in the
chiral effective field theory approach. This paves the way for estimating the
low-energy constants of operators with more nucleon fields and/or external

Nonlinear electrodynamics of p-wave superconductors
We consider the Maxwell-London electrodynamics of three dimensional
superconductors in p-wave pairing states with nodal points or lines in the
energy gap. The current-velocity relation is then nonlinear in the applied
field, cubic for point nodes and quadratic for lines. We obtain explicit
angular and depth dependent expressions for measurable quantities such as the
transverse magnetic moment, and associated torque. These dependences are
different for point and line nodes and can be used to distinguish between
different order parameters. We discuss the experimental feasibility of this
method, and bring forth its advantages, as well as limitations that might be
