Magneto-optical rotation of spectrally impure fields and its nonlinear dependence on optical density
We calculate magneto-optical rptation of spectrally impure fileds in an
optically thick cold atmic medium. We show that the spectral impurity leads to
non-linear dependence of the rotation angle on optical density. Using our
calculations, we provide a quanttative analysis of the recent experimental
results of G. Labeyrie et al. [Phys. Rev. A 64, 033402 (2001)] using cold

Entanglement of two distant Bose-Einstein condensates by detection of Bragg-scattered photons
We show that it is possible to generate entanglement between two distant
Bose-Einstein condensates by detection of Hanbury Brown-Twiss type correlations
in photons Bragg-scattered by the condensates. Upon coincident detection of two
photons by two detectors, the projected joint state of two condensates is shown
to be non-Gaussian. We verify the existence of entanglement by showing that the
partially transposed state is negative. Further we use the inequality in terms
of higher order moments to confirm entanglement. Our proposed scheme can be
generalized for multiple condensates and also for spinor condensates with Bragg
scattering of polarized light with the latter capable of producing hyper

An Introduction to Community Detection in Multi-layered Social Network
Social communities extraction and their dynamics are one of the most
important problems in today's social network analysis. During last few years,
many researchers have proposed their own methods for group discovery in social
networks. However, almost none of them have noticed that modern social networks
are much more complex than few years ago. Due to vast amount of different data
about various user activities available in IT systems, it is possible to
distinguish the new class of social networks called multi-layered social
network. For that reason, the new approach to community detection in the
multi-layered social network, which utilizes multi-layered edge clustering

Mass-Gaps and Spin Chains for (Super) Membranes
We present a method for computing the non-perturbative mass-gap in the theory
of Bosonic membranes in flat background spacetimes with or without background
fluxes. The computation of mass-gaps is carried out using a matrix
regularization of the membrane Hamiltonians. The mass gap is shown to be
naturally organized as an expansion in a 'hidden' parameter, which turns out to
be : d being the related to the dimensionality of the background
space. We then proceed to develop a large perturbation theory for the
membrane/matrix-model Hamiltonians around the quantum/mass corrected effective
potential. The same parameter that controls the perturbation theory for the
mass gap is also shown to control the Hamiltonian perturbation theory around
the effective potential. The large perturbation theory is then translated
into the language of quantum spin chains and the one loop spectra of various
Bosonic matrix models are computed by applying the Bethe ansatz to the one-loop
effective Hamiltonians for membranes in flat space times. Apart from membranes
in flat spacetimes, the recently proposed matrix models (hep-th/0607005) for
non-critical membranes in plane wave type spacetimes are also analyzed within
the paradigm of quantum spin chains and the Bosonic sectors of all the models
proposed in (hep-th/0607005) are diagonalized at the one-loop level.Comment: 36 Page
A survey on fuzzy fractional differential and optimal control nonlocal evolution equations
We survey some representative results on fuzzy fractional differential
equations, controllability, approximate controllability, optimal control, and
optimal feedback control for several different kinds of fractional evolution
equations. Optimality and relaxation of multiple control problems, described by
nonlinear fractional differential equations with nonlocal control conditions in

Radiative corrections and quantum gates in molecular systems
We propose a method for quantum information processing using molecules
coupled to an external laser field. This utilizes molecular interactions,
control of the external field and an effective energy shift of the
doubly-excited state of two coupled molecules. Such a level shift has been seen
in the two-photon resonance experiments recently reported in Ref. [1]. Here we
show that this can be explained in terms of the QED Lamb shift. We quantify the
performance of the proposed quantum logic gates in the presence of dissipative
mechanisms. The unitary transformations required for performing one- and

Range Queries on Uncertain Data
Given a set of uncertain points on the real line, each represented by
its one-dimensional probability density function, we consider the problem of
building data structures on to answer range queries of the following three
types for any query interval : (1) top- query: find the point in that
lies in with the highest probability, (2) top- query: given any integer
as part of the query, return the points in that lie in
with the highest probabilities, and (3) threshold query: given any threshold
as part of the query, return all points of that lie in with
probabilities at least . We present data structures for these range
