Tunable control of the bandwidth and frequency correlations of entangled photons
We demonstrate experimentally a new technique to control the bandwidth and
the type of frequency correlations (correlation, anticorrelation, and even
uncorrelation) of entangled photons generated by spontaneous parametric
downconversion. The method is based on the control of the group velocities of
the interacting waves. This technique can be applied in any nonlinear medium
and frequency band of interest. It is also demonstrated that this technique
helps enhance the quality of polarization entanglement even when femtosecond
pulses are used as a pump.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev. Let
Information transmission around block trades on the Spanish stock market
Current fmancial research is placing increasing attention on the effects of large transactions, or Block Trades (BT), on the fmancial markets. In order to analyze whether BT transmit information, we assume that information can be better reflected by changes in asset true value, proxied by the midpoint of bid-ask best quotes, instead of
transactions prices or returns. Moreover, following market microstructure literature, we also look at changes in relative spread and in their adverse selection component. The Madrid Stock Exchange offers us a particularly appropriate testing ground for examining these issues, since this topic has not been facilitated as in other markets
till 1998. We analyze 195 BT, classified according with trading volume, the side of the market initiating the BT (buyer,
seller or indeterminate initiated), its type (inside the spread, sweeping or not classified) and if they change or not
the asset true value. The main result of the paper is that it seems that there is BT information transmission when we look at adverse selection spread component in the different subsample classification, but there is no significant permanent effect in
returns. We also observe changes in liquidity around BTs but the effect is related with temporary spread component
A QCD sum rule calculation of the decay width
To understand the nature of the , recently observed in the mass
spectrum of the system by the D0 Collaboration, we have
investigated, in a previous work, a scalar tetraquark (diquak-antidiquark)
structure for it, within the two-point QCD sum rules method. The result found
for its mass agrees well with the experimental value. Encouraged by this
finding we now extend our calculations to obtain the decay width of
to using the three-point QCD sum rule. We obtain a value of
(20.4\pm8.7)\MeV, which, on comparing with the experimental value of
21.9\pm6.4 (\mbox{sta})^{+5.0}_{-2.5}(\mbox{syst}) \MeV/c^2, reinforces the
scalar four quark nature of .Comment: Minor modifications made. Some new discussions and references adde
Radiative corrections to the Dalitz plot of K_{l3}^\pm decays
We calculate the model-independent radiative corrections to the Dalitz plot
of K_{l3}^\pm decays to order (\alpha/\pi)(q/M_1), where q is the momentum
transfer and M_1 is the mass of the kaon. The final results are presented,
first, with the triple integration over the variables of the bremsstrahlung
photon ready to be performed numerically and, second, in an analytical form.
These two forms are useful to crosscheck on one another and with other
calculations. This paper is organized to make it accessible and reliable in the
analysis of the Dalitz plot of precision experiments and is not compromised to
fixing the form factors at predetermined values. It is assumed that the real
photons are kinematically discriminated. Otherwise, our results have a general
model-independent applicability.Comment: RevTex4, 38 pages, 5 figures, 5 tables; some typos corrected;

Numerical precision radiative corrections to the Dalitz plot of baryon semileptonic decays including the spin-momentum correlation of the decaying and emitted baryons
We calculate the radiative corrections to the angular correlation between the
polarization of the decaying and the direction of the emitted spin one-half
baryons in the semileptonic decay mode. The final results are presented, first,
with the triple integration of the bremsstrahlung photon ready to be performed
numerically and, second, in an analytical form. A third presentation of our
results in the form of numerical arrays of coefficients to be multiplied by the
quadratic products of form factors is discussed. This latter may be the most
practical one to use in Monte Carlo simulations. A series of crosschecks is
performed. Previous results to order (alpha/pi)(q/M_1) for the decays of
unpolarized baryons are reviewed, too, where q is the momentum transfer and M_1
is the mass of the decaying baryon. This paper is self-contained and organized
to make it accessible and reliable in the analysis of the Dalitz plot of
precision experiments involving heavy quarks and is not compromised to fixing
the form factors at predetermined values. It is assumed that the real photons
are kinematically discriminated. Otherwise, our results have a general
model-independent applicability.Comment: 34 pages, 4 tables, no figures. Some sections have been shortened.
