Coulomb force effects in low-energy -deuteron scattering
The -proton Coulomb interaction is included in the description of
-deuteron scattering using the screening and renormalization approach
in the framework of momentum-space three-particle equations. The technical
reliability of the method is demonstrated. Large Coulomb-force effects are
found.Comment: To be published in Phys. Rev.
A Note on Tachyon Moduli and Closed Strings
The collective behavior of the SL(2,R) covariant brane states of non-critical
c=1 string theory found in a previous work, is studied in the Fermi liquid
approximation. It is found that such states mimick the coset WZW model, whereas
only by further restrictions one recovers the double-scaling limit which was
purported to be equivalent to closed string models. Another limit is proposed,
inspired by the tachyon condensation ideas, where the spectrum is the same of
two-dimensional string theory. We close by noting some strange connections
between vacuum states of the theory in their different interpretations.Comment: PDFLaTeX, 17 pages, 2 figures; Section 2 rewritten, several fixes

Current constraints on the EFT for the \Lambda N --> N N transition
The relation between the low energy constants appearing in the effective
field theory description of the \Lambda N --> N N transition potential and the
parameters of the one-meson-exchange model previously developed are obtained.
We extract the relative importance of the different exchange mechanisms
included in the meson picture by means of a comparison to the corresponding
operational structures appearing in the effective approach. The ability of this
procedure to obtain the weak baryon-baryon-meson couplings for a possible
scalar exchange is also discussed.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure
Flavor SU(4) breaking between effective couplings
Using a framework in which all elements are constrained by Dyson-Schwinger
equation studies in QCD, and therefore incorporates a consistent, direct and
simultaneous description of light- and heavy-quarks and the states they
constitute, we analyze the accuracy of SU(4)-flavor symmetry relations between
{\pi}{\rho}{\pi}, K{\rho}K and D{\rho}D couplings. Such relations are widely
used in phenomenological analyses of the interactions between matter and
charmed mesons. We find that whilst SU(3)-flavor symmetry is accurate to 20%,
SU(4) relations underestimate the D{\rho}D coupling by a factor of five.Comment: 5 pages, two figure
