    modelling of deformable polymer to be used for joints between infill masonry walls and r c frames

    Abstract In the paper an idea to use a deformable polymer material for the joint between R.C. frames and masonry infills is presented. As an early step of testing the idea, experimental tests of the polymer in monotonic uniaxial tension at different load rates are performed and analyzed. The load rates range from very fast (8.3 mm/s) to very slow (0.00083 mm/s). The material exhibits a very strong strain rate effect and viscous behavior. In the second part of the paper a numerical model is developed and implemented into a finite element to simulate the results of the tests. The model is based on a new family of strain measures, called the Darjani-Naghdabadi strain measures and a classical viscosity formulation. Almost perfect model predictions up to collapse at 50-150% elongation are obtained by using calibration based on minimization of error

    The increasingly rapid advances in technological development approaches to integrate property market valuation with the Geographical Information System (GIS). Application of the GIS software in the residential estate market is very helpful in visualizing information using maps and tables. In order to effectively manage the database on the real estate market, advanced IT technologies are necessary – the ones that provide mechanisms for entering, collecting, analyzing, and storing cadastral data. Solutions for real estate residential market modeling should be treated as an important element for the development of the spatial economy. From the property market valuation, we can determine a high or low market value based on the attribute data. In visualization, we can analyze the factors of the highest and lowest market values based on geographic data that is produced using ArcGIS. After that, the detailed analysis can also be determined using ArcGIS 10.5 software, such as using overlay and proximity analysis tools.Zastosowanie oprogramowania GIS na rynku nieruchomości mieszkaniowych jest bardzo przydatne do wizualizacji informacji przy użyciu mapy i tabel opisowych. Aby skutecznie zarządzać bazą danych na rynku nieruchomości, niezbędne są zaawansowane technologie informatyczne, które zapewniają mechanizmy wprowadzania, gromadzenia, analizowania i przechowywania danych katastralnych. Rozwiązania przeznaczone do modelowania rynku nieruchomości mieszkaniowych należy traktować jako ważny element rozwoju gospodarki przestrzennej. W procesie wyceny nieruchomości można ustalić wysoką lub niską wartość rynkową na podstawie danych atrybutów. Podczas wizualizacji można analizować czynniki o najwyższej i najniższej wartości rynkowej, opierając się na danych geograficznych pozyskanych za pomocą ArcGIS. Szczegółowych informacji dostarczają również narzędzia analityczne tego programu

    The paper reports the results of experiments on the course of leaf regeneratian in Saintpaulia ionantha Wendl. in vitro culture, depending on morphactin IT 3456 doses and its relation with kinetin and auxins (IAA and NAA). Morphactin retards regeneration, abolishes its polarity, inhibits root formation and causes developmental anomalies of buds and leaves. Kinetin and IAA neutralize the retardation of regeneration caused by morphactin, auxin and finetin do not prevent the anomalies

    The article presents the results of the research on the remuneration and promotion system in the State Forests in Poland. The research was conducted using a questionnaire survey and utilises answers from 414 managers of forest districts and 105 representatives of all regional directorates of the State Forests. The respondents critically evaluated the current remuneration system, especially in the aspect of vocational promotion. negatively criticising the procedure and results of competitions for managerial positions. The paper also proposes the method for determining the amount of function allowance (according to difficulty level) for basic managerial positions. The results can be used for reviewing the employment policy in the State Forests

    The article presents the results of research concerning directions of improvement of human resource management in the State Forests, in terms of rationalization of non−manual employment. The research was conducted in the second half of 2009 using the questionnaire survey method. 414 forest district managers and 105 representatives from a group of directors, department heads and chief specialists from all the Regional Directorates of the State Forests in the country participated in the survey. Respondents emphasized the need to rationalize employment in the State Forests and expressed their opinions on the possibilities, scope and method of reducing staffing levels. The subject matter is shown against the background of employment changes taking place in forestry in the European countries. The results can be used for adjusting the human resource policy in the State Forests

    Comparison of firefly and cockroach algorithms in selected discrete and combinatorial problems

    In recent years, newer algorithms inspired by nature have been created and used to solve various problems. Therefore, in the paper we present the application of firefly and cockroach algorithms to optimize two queueing systems and permutation flow shop problems with the objective of minimizing the makespan. The article briefly describes these algorithms to solve selected problems and their results. Because these algorithms were originally developed for continuous optimization problems, we introduce a new formula to transform the position of ith individual to solve the discrete problems
