Experiencing the present : about the construction of new identities

Elemento chave em Foucault é fazer dos seus textos dispositivos de transformação de si mesmo e problematização de âmbitos da sociedade onde o exercício do poder resulta intolerável. Sendo assim, uma parte importante do sentido da sua obra aprecia-se a partir da sua vocação ensaística e o seu empenho em fazer funcionar outra política da verdade, onde ganha especial interesse a crítica do sujeito. Partindo destes elementos, o presente texto pretende destilar a dimensão pedagógica presente na obra de Foucault. Nela, perfila-se um espaço discursivo pedagógico diferente daquele que domina no campo da educação sob a soberania hermenêutica. Para isso, em primeiro lugar, o texto situa a obra de Foucault sob a primazia de mudar aquilo que somos e nos libertarmos da moral do escolarismo. A seguir, ressalta a presença da dimensão pedagógica no modo de entender a escrita e a leitura por Foucault e na sua concepção da conformação dos sujeitos através de processos de subjetivação.Foucault turned his texts into dispositifs for the transformation of oneself and the problematisation of societal domains in which exercising power seems intolerable, this being a key feature in the author. Thus, a relevant share of the meaning of his works is better understood in his essays and his determination to make another truth politics work. In this regard, Foucault’s subject critique is especially interesting. Based on such elements, this paper aims to ‘distil’ Foucault’s pedagogical dimension. In his works, a pedagogical discourse, different from that ruling education under hermeneutical sovereignty, is built. To that end, the paper first locates Foucault´s works on the emphasis in changing what we are and freeing us from a “schoolism moral”. Next, the paper underlines the presence of a pedagogical dimension in Foucault’s way of understanding writing and reading, and in his conception about the creation of the subjects through subjectivation processes
