Turbulent helium gas cell as a new paradigm of daily meteorological fluctuations?

We compare the spectral properties of long meteorological temperature records with laboratory measurements in small convection cells. Surprisingly, the atmospheric boundary layer sampled on a daily scale shares the statistical properties of temperature fluctuations in small-scale experiments. This fact can be explained by the hydrodynamical similarity between these seemingly very different systems. The results suggest that the dynamics of daily temperature fluctuations is determined by the soft turbulent state of the atmospheric boundary layer in continental climate.Comment: 10 pages Late

Az anorexia nervosa kialakulására vonatkozóan ma a komplex, multidimenzionális megközelítéseket ajánlják. Emellett több olyan elmélet is ismeretes, mely a kórképet egy szelektív szemszögből vizsgálja, ilyen az evolúciós pszichológiai magyarázat is. Az evolúciós pszichológia az utóbbi két évtizedben bontakozott ki, képviselői arra a kérdésre keresik a választ, hogy az evolúció során kialakult túlélési mechanizmusok milyen mértékben befolyásolják a mai ember lelki működését. Az anorexia nervosa evolúciós értelmezése egy lehetséges adaptív stratégiát lát a kórkép hátterében. Az evolúciós megközelítés provokatív elképzelésnek indult, mára azonban egyre elfogadottabbá válnak az egyes evolúciós elméletek (például a reproduktív szuppresszió, szülői manipuláció). Ugyanakkor az ősi adaptív mechanizmusok szerepe kevésbé tanulmányozott és alig ismert. Az ultimatív okok keresése helyett inkább a proximatív megközelítést helyezik előtérbe. A jelen tanulmány célja a figyelemfelkeltés mellett ezen újfajta értelmezés bemutatása, s új kutatási témák felkínálása az evolúciós elméleteken keresztül. | In the etiopathogenesis of anorexia nervosa a complex, multidimensional approach is suggested. In addition, there are some theories that examine the disease from a selective point of view. Evolutionary psychology has emerged in the last two decades. Psychologists have been trying to answer the question how the adaptive strategies acquired through evolution affect human psychological functioning. The evolutionary approach of anorexia nervosa defines the disease from a new perspective. An adaptive strategy is assumed in the background. This evolutionary theory first seemed very provocative. However, these evolutionary theories (e.g. reproductive suppression, parental manipulation) have already become widely accepted. Yet, the role of the ancient adaptive mechanisms is a less studied and less known field. Most therapeutic approaches concentrate on the proximate causation instead of the ultimate reasons of the disease. Besides raising the attention, this study is an attempt to approach anorexia nervosa in a modern way and offer new ideas for scientific research by emphasizing the evolutionary theories in the background of anorexia nervosa
